I know a lot of people are making these, but eh! I don't really care, and most of them are amazing! And super creepy. Which I guess is what they were going for. Anyway, this is just a short little story I came up with just now. If you've ever had a lot of apprentices, you'll probably understand this more ;) Enjoy!
Apprentices
I stretched my arms and yawned, today had been pretty boring. I opened up my laptop, hoping I could find something fun on there. I decided to look through my writing folder, in hopes there'd be some good games in there, or a piece of writing I could edit. I grinned as I found one of my old favorite games- Warrior Cats: Untold Tales. I decided to load up the game, just for old time's sake, and clicked on File One. I smiled as I saw my old character that I used for just about everything, a ginger tabby named Hollylight. Everything seemed normal, and I happily pressed 'Ctrl' on my keyboard to talk to Clearstar, to see if Falconstar had updated the dialogue or something. A chat box comes up that says, "You killed them. You replaced them, hoping no one would notice. We TRUSTED you!" I clicked out of the chat-box, a bit unnerved. What was she talking about? I dismissed it as some quest or something, and went to talk to my old mate, a white tom named Wildfur. "I loved you, Hollylight. Until I found out what you did. No one loves you anymore, you're a traitor to Riverclan!" I stared at the screen in disbelief. What did I do? This obviously wasn't just a quest. Maybe it was an easter egg or something. After clicking off the chat-box once more, I saw that both Wildfur and Clearstar had disappeared from the clan after going in both tiles. I narrowed my eyes. "Fine, I'll play your little game," I thought, and went to talk to my daughter, Hopekit. Another chat-box popped up, though it was a darker blue than the others. It said, "I still love you, Mommy. No matter what the other cats say. Just please don't kill me!" My eyes widened as I read the last sentence over again. My own daughter thought I would kill her. What had I done to make everyone feel so horrible towards me? I then realized that there were two options at the bottom of Hopekit's chat box. <Press A to kill Hopekit,> or <Press S to leave>. My fingers stumbled on the keyboard, and I accidentally pressed A. I stared at my screen in horror as my character brutally tore into my precious kit. A chat-box quickly flashed Hopekit saying, "Mommy! Stop! I love you! Why!?" After about twenty seconds all that was left of my kit were a few white and red pixels splattered over the moss I had lovingly placed down when I still played the game. My heart beat faster, this was so messed-up! Why would this be in the game? What had my character done wrong? Seriously, I was really creeped out now. Whoever had written the code for this should not be messing with a children's game. As I looked back at the screen, I saw that all the cats in camp had disappeared, in both tiles. I laughed nervously, maybe that was all. I had my character walk out of camp, reassured by the hope that it might be over. No such luck. Five cats flickered onto the tile I was on, and no matter what keys I pressed, my character would not move. I started to freak. Did the game crash? Did my computer freeze? Were these cats going to accuse me of a crime I didn't know I did? I gasped as I recognized all the cats - These were all Hollylight's former apprentices. My former apprentices. Stonewhisker, Hillstripe, Briartail, Streamnose, and Breezeheart. All cats I had mercilessly watched die at the hands of other NPC's, all to keep me from getting bored. I frantically pressed the power button on my laptop, hoping it would all go away, but my screen only flickered. The one I recognized as Stonewhisker, my first apprentice, stepped forward, and another dreaded chat-box popped up. This one was colored blood-red. "Hello, Hollylight," the gray tom meowed. "Welcome to-" The screen flickered, then went blank. I sighed in relief, glad that nightmare was finally over. I closed my laptop, only to stiffen as I felt a furry shape weave through my legs, then stood silently next to me. "Oh, no," A gray cat purred. "It is never over." Five cats stood in my room, all glaring at me with pure hatred in their eyes. "I- I'm sorry?" I whimpered, standing, then missing my bed and falling onto the floor. "Welcome to your worst nightmare," the five warriors hissed in unison, teeth glinting in the darkness of my room. I gulped. It didn't look like I'd be training any more apprentices for a long, long time.
