Disclaimer - I know this isnt warriors fanfic but I didn't know where else to put it. Hope it's okay.
So I'm writing a book.
It's about two dogs - Bella and Sophie - who get lost in the forest and join a pack of dogs. Here's the first few chapters.
Please please please tell me what you think!!
Chapter One
The sun streamed into her master’s room, making the pink walls light up. She lifted her head and yawned. The warm scents of her favorite room filled her nose, but her master’s was faint. Sophie looked around and noticed she was gone. She jumped down and nosed her way out the door.
Sophie couldn’t see her anywhere. She padded down the soft stairs and took a drink from her water bowl. Her empty bowl smelled of food, and it smelled fresh too. Sophie felt a hand on her back. Her master, a medium sized human with light yellow hair. She scratched Sophie’s head and said a few things, then followed her mother carrying a brightly colored box.
Sophie followed them out the door, pushing under their feet and running to the moving den. She loved the moving den. They went tons of fun places with the whole pack. She ran up the stairs and jumped inside. Bella was sitting on the couch. Sophie could smell food on her. “I can’t wait to go. I wonder where we are going this time!” She barked happily.
Bella gave her a smug look, “I agree. You missed breakfast,” She rolled over on her back, “It was especially delicious today.” Sophie gave a small growl and jumped up on the couch. In an attempt to jump out of her way, Bella fell off the couch. Sophie laid down, daintily crossing her paws.
“Maybe don’t eat my food next time.” Sophie growled playfully. Bella stood up and barked happily at her master - my master’s mother. Her master ignored her and carried her brightly colored container to the back. Sophie never understood why humans needed so much stuff. Her master followed, carrying yet another one. Bella ran down the moving den’s steps and bolted into the front yard.
Sophie followed and sniffed the grass. The front yard was exciting, so much different from the back. She smelled cat on the grass. Probably that tuxedo that lived two den’s down. Marking her territory on top of it, Sophie looked at Bella, who was rolling around. She ran over and nipped playfully at her belly. Bella yelped and ran across the yard, Sophie in close pursuit.
“Bella! Sophie!”
Sophie heard her master’s call and looked. She was holding onto the den’s door and patting her leg. “Race you!” Sophie barked to Bella.
“Oh you’re on!” She said as she took off. Sophie launched to catch up, her light yellow paws pounding on the grass. Sophie overtook her easily, Bella’s short shih-tzu legs not letting her beat her. She jumped into the moving den and huffed.
“Stupid short legs.” She mumbled under her breath as she hopped up onto her master’s lap. Sophie jumped onto the couch and laid her head on her paws. She couldn’t wait to see where they were going next.
Chapter 2
Sophie felt the moving den come to a stop. Lifting her head, she saw all four humans going to the door. Bella was weaving her way around the legs. Bella and Sophie jumped down the stairs side-by-side, and she opened her mouth to take in the smells. Forest, river, dirt, and human stuff. She never liked those creatures with the circle paws, her humans always took her in them to scary places.
She saw her humans gathering along a railing. Peeking through it, Sophie saw a beautiful river flowing through a valley. She started panting, taking in all the scents. “It’s amazing!” She barked.
Bella nodded, “It is pretty cool,” Sophie heard resentment in her voice, “but I don’t like that water too much. It’s so fast!”
Sophie looked down at the river again, the water pushed its way through the valley. Easily fast enough to wash Bella away. Sophie laughed, “Fast for you!”
Bella gave me a sideways look, “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Oh nothing,” Sophie looked up at the sky. “Just that you are tiny.” She looked her in the eyes, “For a shih-tzu at least.” Bella gave a small growl. Sophie looked up at her master, she pointed at some bushes and said, “Go potty.” She knew what that meant.
After Sophie finished she turned to Bella, she was looking out at the gorge again. “I can’t wait until our masters take us home, I hope wherever we’re going they don’t make me swim again.” Sophie heard a small shake in her voice, she truly did fear the water.
“Don’t worry.” Sophie barked, “You’ll be fine, even if they do make you swim.” Bella shook her head and mumbled something under her breath. Sophie started sniffing around a sage bush. It smelled delicious, even if it did make her sneeze. She sneezed once before she heard Bella’s panicked howl.
“Sophie! Help!”
She ran over and saw her trying to stay on the ledge, her small claws the only thing keeping her from plummeting into the ravine.
“Bella!” Sophie barked.
“Help!” She said through gritted teeth. Sophie tried to grab her scruff but her weak grip gave way before she could get a hold. Sophie watched in horror as she slid down the canyon. “I’m coming!” she howled. Sophie started sliding down the canyon.
It started easy. She looked down and saw Bella laying by the river, unmoving. In fear she tried to quicken her pace. I have to save her! Sophie’s rushing made her misplace her foot, and start tumbling down like Bella. Sophie was so afraid as she tumbled down, the world was spinning. She couldn’t tell up from down. She felt a painful bump, then everything went black.
I have written more, but I want to know what you guys think so far. No hate please.
P.S. I know it goes 0-100 real quick, but I intended it to be that way.
