Expect the Unexpected - An Interactive Story

Hello! I see you have stumbled upon my attempt at an interactive story. Before we begin, there are a few rules that I must state:

- Don't feel offended if I don't use your suggestion. I will try to include everyone's suggestions, though there are some times where two can't work together.

- Suggestions can be as silly or serious as you desire.

- When making a suggestion, respond to the most recent part of the story.

- Last but not least, enjoy!

Now, on to the story!

You blink your eyes open to find yourself in an unfamiliar area. As you gaze around, you realize that you are in some sort of cottage. In one corner of the room, there is a STAIRCASE. In another, you see a BOOKSHELF. A DOOR HANGING SLIGHTLY AJAR is letting a bit of light filter into the area.
What will you do?

Go to the bookshelf, i Love books

You walk over to the bookshelf. On the bottom shelf, there is a pile of SCROLLS. BOOKS fill up the other shelves. Most of the books have titles that are worn and difficult to read, though you manage to make out a few:
Gardening Tips and Tricks
Mysterious Creatures
Taming and Raising Creatures
Cooking
What do you do?

Pick up "Mysterious Creatures" and start reading it

Out of curiosity, you pick up the book labeled Mysterious Creatures. You open the cover and begin to read the book. Inside are SKETCHES Of ODD ANIMALS. One resembles a cat, except it has three tails and three eyes. Another appears to be a winged squirrel with six legs. Beneath each illustration is a description - some a few words, others a few paragraphs. As you flip through the pages, you grow more and more intrigued.
After a while, you reach the final page. Who could have thought up of such things? you wonder, thinking back to a drawing of a bird-like creature that resembled a hawk which had horns and two pairs of wings. As you get ready to put the book away, you suddenly hear a LOW GROWL COMING FROM UPSTAIRS. You look towards the staircase, wondering if you should investigate. Of course, you could flee through THE FRONT DOOR if things got troublesome.
What will you do?

Your curiosity getting the best of you, you decide to investigate the noise. As you approach the top of the staircase, you can't believe what you are seeing. A brown tabby cat with three eyes and three tails was standing in front of you. It closely resembled one of the drawings from the Mysterious Creatures book.
The creature hasn't attacked you yet, though it's claws are unsheathed and they are digging into the hardwood floor of the room. You debate as the whether you should RUN BACK DOWNSTAIRS. There is also a DOOR ON THE LEFT WALL and a DOOR ON THE RIGHT WALL on the floor that you are on. At the same time, you want to try to CALM THE ANIMAL.
What do you do?
