° Introduction ° What if there was a world that was kept in balance by ancient spirits of the elements? And what if there was an evil source that was trying to get them under control, to use for their own purposes? Driven into a corner, the spirits execute a dangerous plan, lending their powers to people not from their own world, making them cross the world's in the process.
These people have no idea how they got into the other world, only waking up with an echo of "Find the others, help us!" inside their heads. Still, the spirits have enlisted the help of a young woman as well, who tells these people about the elemental spirits and that they have been chosen by one. Not to mention, that it's dangerous to use the power or even tell anybody about it inside these walls, and to only do so if necessary to find other people chosen by the spirits.
The spirits live outside the walls, however, so once they have gathered enough supplies and perhaps allies, they are supposed to find a way past the heavily guarded walls.
° World °
The huge city inside the walls is almost like the world the people chosen by the spirits come from, although, there are subtle differences. Smartphones and the Internet do not exist, for one, as well as other things like guns.
However, once you step beyond the walls, you will find yourself in something akin to another world. While most plants do look normal, odd plants can be found here and there, with even odder beasts roaming the lands. While normal animals can also be found, most of the beasts are born from jealousy, hatred and misdeed, and carry a dark aura with them. They appear as giant spiders, werewolves, chimeras, whatever fantasy creature you may think of. However, the can be defeated by either elemental attacks or by the use of normal weapons.
If asked, the odd people living outside the walls will say that the beasts have started appearing so frequently after the spirits' presence began to fade.
These people aren't aware of a city inside the giant walls. They pay great respect to the elemental spirits, however.
Small cities and even smaller towns are far from each other most of the time, so the characters will spend a lot of time having to fend for themselves.
Out of the ones chosen by the elemental spirits, those chosen by the time spirit will probably think of it more as a curse than a blessing. They can see the people they respect or care about die over and over again in their dreams, due to them being tasked to stop it from happening. This, however, puts immense stress and pain onto one's soul.
Characters can band together and form groups, it's even better if they do so, as it can get quite hard when somebody is alone outside the walls.
While the spirits are said to embody certain personality traits, this mustn't necessarily be true for the people they picked for their powers.
This is a plot based rp, so it does follow a story outline, but you're free to suggest plot points, too!
((Feel free to push the world-building a bit, but also please ask me if there's something you're confused about!))

However, the future will always show the point where the person and their loved ones die - usually used to fix mistakes to make sure that the death doesn't happen § Short hops through time are possible with very skilled users
° Rules ° » The forum rules apply » You can push the abilities and world-building, as long as it isn't too drastic » If you have a time character, make sure to remember the strain it puts onto one's soul once the ability starts showing them the dreams » Time users aren't able to see enough to figure out the absolute certain circumstances of one's death » Not all characters have to have their morals right. Some may be able to betray the others if promised the right things or if it seems like the other side may win » Your characters don't have to have realistic eye colors or whatever, this is a fantasy role play after all » I'd appreciate it if you'd try writing 3+ sentences for your characters
° Open Spots ° Here you can see which spirits are still open for characters to get their abilities. The numbers may be increased if needed.
(I will be linking your character form's post on the front page, so you can go back to edit it whenever)

Username »» Waterpelt Character's Name »» Jay Winters Gender »» Male Age »» 16 Height »» 5'8" Appearance »» Jay's height is rather average, but his skin is almost as white as snow. His hair is chestnut brown and unevenly cut, with some strands longer than the others. His eyes are a striking dark blue, but they have an almost haunted look to them, which the bags under his eyes just seem to underline.
Jay wears black hoodies and dark pants. He doesn't like exposing much skin. It's not unusual for him to frown, because he often ends up getting headaches, which make him look quite miserable, even if he tries to hide it.
Personality »» It's easy to notice that Jay is untrusting of everybody around him, his eyes always shifting around to look for the easiest route of escape. He glances over his shoulder a lot while walking in crowds, afraid that somebody may be following him.
Additionally, Jay has a habit of shutting down any kind of social interaction by giving short answers that do not lead to anything. At least, it's a thing he always does when the conversation topic is mindless chattering. He still struggles with Keelung up conversations at times, though.
Jay remains rather quiet in bigger groups. If one wants to actually have a conversation with him, their best bet is to talk to him with nobody around.
While Jay is very untrusting of people, if you do manage to earn his friendship, he's a very loyal friend. Although, he's honestly just not used to people actually like him for himself and not just his parents' money. . Family »» Alicia Winters (mother) and Jacob Winters (father) Backstory »» Jay's parents had always been rich, and as a young child, he had enjoyed it at first as he had been getting spoiled. However, his parents started spending less and less time with him as their fame grew, and Jay started feeling unwanted.
As he grew up, he faced many people trying to get close to him simply for them to be able to ask favors of him. Jay caught onto this, and became suspicious and wary of anybody trying to get close to him.
He usually spent time with the people his parents hired to look after them, although he still doesn't really feel a connection to them, either. He simply feels out of place in a world of people trying to seem perfect. Elemental Spirit »» Time Weapon(s) »» A sharp, fancy looking knife that he already had on him before the whole fiasco . Likes »» peace, rain, books Dislikes »» crowds, people picking on others, sports Strengths »» tactical thinking, interpreting things, seeing peoples' ulterior motives Weaknesses »» social interactions, strength, cooperating with others . Sexuality »» Bisexual Crush »» Dating »» Other »»
Username »» Waterpelt Character's Name »» Michaela (Micha) Ashworth Gender »» Female Age »» 17 Height »» 5'7" Appearance »» A young woman who appears surprisingly muscular and fit, which is due to all the sports she did before getting pulled into the other world. Her skin is tanned and almost a bronze color and her hair is dark brown and falls to the middle of her back. She likes braiding it in different styles, but often either wears it open or in a simple ponytail.
Her eyes are a dark brown color, which may sometimes appear black if you're not close enough.
She likes wearing brand shirts with a zip-up jacket over them and dark colored jeans. Her sneakers are dark gray and look old and torn, but she doesn't want to change them.
Personality »» Michaela comes across as a social butterfly and likes surrounding herself with as many people as she can; she enjoys being the center of attention as well. Another notable feature of hers is her stubbornness, as Michaela doesn't back down from a challenge when she sees one. She's not easy to anger, but likes annoying others with her stubbornness.
She's a very proud person who loves getting praised, though her pride also makes it impossible for her to ask for help when needed. Rather than asking for help, she tries to solve her problems on her own, which sometimes gets her in trouble.
Michaela is easy to talk to and befriend, as she's usually very charming. She's not very subtle when it comes to flirting, either. As she is usually rather relaxed and easy-going, when Michaela actually gets serious, it's best to be careful. A serious Michaela is rather scary at times, but she's also very authoritative, which makes her take over as a leader very often. . Family »» Brandon Ashworth (father), Aria Ashworth (mother), Veronica Ashworth (younger sister) Backstory »» Michaela's life was rather normal, her family being neither rich nor poor. She was the captain of the basketball team at her school and rather popular for her looks and personality. Yet, she wasn't very arrogant and always tried to make everybody feel included in her school. After getting pulled into the other world, she's been trying to find people like her. Elemental Spirit »» Light Weapon(s) »» None yet . Likes »» sports, parties, cooking Dislikes »» violence, being helpless, people who don't respect her Strengths »» She's got a lot of strength that she can use in combat, and she can also charm and manipulate people if needed. Weaknesses »» Her pride is often her downfall, as it can get her into situations that are too much for her. She doesn't like accepting help at all, despite her problems at school. She's not stupid, it's just that the education system just doesn't fit for her. . Sexuality »» Bisexual Crush »» Dating »» Other »» Michaela is left-handed

Username »» warriorcatsfan532 Character's Name »» Oliver "Oli/Quinn" Quinnton Gender »» Male Age »» 18 Height »» 5'5 Appearance »» Oliver's skin is pale, but maintains a healthy glow instead of looking sickly; and his intense lilac eyes only give more proof towards his vitality. His hair is self cut, and thus a little choppy, colored a sleek black and ending a few inches above the shoulder. He is donned with a long-sleeved shirt with interchanging black and dark gray stripes, simple black jeans, and sneakers. Surprisingly, there is some muscle to Oliver that makes him a little sturdy, but it doesn't apply much to strength, rather as a healthy toned body that attributes towards endurance and agility. Personality »» Oliver is the definition of trouble, whether initially realized or not. Even before he was dragged into the spirit nonsense, his klepto-nature has always been a rooted problem. Oftentimes, he hides behind a public facade. This fake face is quite chivalrous and shows him to be trustworthy; tricking others who believe the charade so he may steal under their nose. It's very difficult for him to have empathy for people, Oliver has trouble forging true connections and bonds with others even if he had the desire to, which is unlikely. . Family »» Maverick Quinnton and Mallory Flemie Backstory (optional) »» Oliver is not very open about his life, seeming to want to leaf it behind him now that he's in this new world. Elemental Spirit »» Darkness Weapon(s) »» A trusty switch blade . Likes »» Being alone and uncontrolled to do whatever he wants Dislikes »» Authority and being forced into anything Strengths »» Agility, intelligent, theft, and puts on a very compelling facade. Weaknesses »» Lacks strength while intense ambition and recklessness leads him into danger . Sexuality »» Demi Crush »» No one Dating »» No one Other »» None

Rose has bright, light brown eyes that sparkle with mischievousness and a cheery smile that's contagious. Okay, my internet connection at home is probably gonna be dead until tomorrow, so expect slow-ish replies haha. You're all accepted, though!
So, for starting purposes, I'd say the characters have been in the world for around less than a day now, but they're all on the move and stuff pfft))
Michaela was finding herself balancing on a thin ledge at the moment, staring over at a small balcony, where some person had left their wallet on the table while they went in to get something. That was her chance to get some money to finally get some things in this world. Her money that she still had on her wasn't used in this world, so this had at first seemed like the easiest way to get something. Now, though, she wasn't so sure anymore. She'd never done anything like this before.
Inching closer, Michaela could already feel the money speaking to her, but as she wanted to take the last step to get to the balcony, her foot slipped. With a shocked face, she fell the distance back down, though the open dumpster below her did soften her fall quite a bit. It wasn't exactly pleasant, though. Michaela cursed loudly, just staying in the dumpster for a moment to think over her life decisions.

Jay was walking rather aimlessly, trying to make sense of all that he had heard. It sounded too odd to be true, yet, here he was. What spirit would be interested in him, anyway? What powers did that give him? Honestly, the spirit none sense was the worst of it all. How would powers even work? It sounded like a bad fantasy novel. Still, he'd managed to steal some money off of somebody, so he supposed he was rather good to go for the moment. Until he got hungry again, at least.
Stealing wasn't right, but Jay honestly didn't care about morales and right and wrong. If it worked, it worked. He usually just wouldn't have thought of it, due to him having to get close to somebody to steal it.

Quinn's eyes were scanning those around him when he passed. His head was down and hands were stuffed deep into his pockets as he moved through a group of people. The dark haired boy's fingers were feeling his switch blade in hand, just sort of tracing against the edges. Not out of ready for use though, just a little habit he possessed. Casually, he 'accidentally' bumped shoulders with the last person in the group. His quick fingers easily working their magic and acquiring the persons wallet. "Ah, I'm so sorry." The young man looked up with an apologetic look. Of course they replied with a simple 'no problem' but before they could carry on too far he spoke up once again. "Oh excuse me, I think you dropped this." Quinn's outstretched hand held the wallet, unknown to the poor stranger that he had just stolen, the money within it. Grateful that the wallet was returned, the stranger continued on without any idea that they were, just robbed right under their nose. Leaving Quinn sniggering quietly as he began to move away from the scene before the person realized what happened. Suddenly being stranded in a strange new place, of course his first orders of business would be to get himself set well enough off. That spirit nonsense he was told about didn't matter to him, this was a chance of getting away from everything he hated before.
For being thrown into this mess out of nowhere, Rose seemed incredibly upbeat. Currently, she was just exploring the walled city she found herself in, bothering random strangers with questions until she talked their ear off so much she had to go to her next victim. She listened to the words of advice straight from the start, she was trying to find the others to help them. Whoever the group of 'us' is and whoever the 'others' are. She honestly had no idea, but that didn't matter. Everything would work out, fate would set her on the right path. That was just how she viewed the workings of the world to be. As long as you were actively working towards a goal, the path will shape itself. You can't just sit by and do nothing and expect everything to be handed to you of course. But things always worked out for the better if you try. Some might consider that a naive way of thinking, but trying to tell her that would be to no avail.
Perry was currently weaving her way through the crowds of people until jumping into an alley as she leaned against the side of the wall with her arm to breath, I like people... but these.... crowds are crazy! I’d rather deal with a stampede of cattle! she thought to herself which for a brief moment was reminded of her home before coming to this strange world however shook the sad thought from her mind and walked down the alley with bare feet, her boots she had strapped to the side of her pants by its’ shoelaces which she normally wore them during the colder seasons yet she was thinking about wearing them to keep her feet protect from people.
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”
Jay's eyes snapped to the side when he suddenly heard somebody apologize for bumping into a woman. He woudln't have thought twice about it, if not for him returning the wallet moments later. She'd not actually dropped it, from what he had seen. The logical conclusion was that he'd stolen it, which Jay had to give him kudos for, because he'd not even noticed him take it. Normally, he wouldn't have thought twice about it, but right now, there was a good chance that this guy was just a thief, but also a small chance that he was somebody like Jay himself.
He held back a grimace. Whichever way it ended, it sounded like a hassle, and like way too much interacting. Not to mention, even if he was right and the guy was agreeable, being stuck in a group sounded horrible. Too many people with different opinions. Just from those facts alone he almost decided to just continue moving on, but then sighed quietly, deciding that tailing this guy for a little longer wouldn't hurt too much. Even though it would be a hassle.
Michaela sighed, pulling herself out of the dumpster after a few minutes of just cursing her life, pulling a piece of foil out of her hair. This day wasn't going to great was it? At least the trash hadn't been too smelly.
Shaking her head, she let herself drop down the rest of the way to the ground, still looking kind of done with the situation. Until, suddenly, she noticed that somebody else had entered the alley. Straightening up quickly, Michaela tried to act as natural as possible for somebody just having come out of a dumpster.
"Hi!" she called out, then noticed that she was walking barefoot. "Isn't that a bit uncomfortable?" She actually sounded curious as she said that, never having tried walking barefoot outside of her garden before.
Quinn's steps were quick and silent, easily weaving in and out of people. The goal after hitting a mark was always to move to another area as soon as possible, the longer he stuck around, the more possible it was for someone to realize what he has done. The further he walked, the more the crowd started to thin; allowing him to breathe a small sigh of relief. It wasn't a fully empty walkway, but with the little number and how quick he was to move away from the scene, he could be at ease. All that he took was already stuffed into his deep pockets.
Alone and loveless here Just the girl in the mirror Just her and me, Wicked Witch of the East! We deserve each other...
Eirian did not like this. They did not like this one bit. They were in a new place, and there were a lot of people. Way too many people. With their hands stuffed deep in their pockets, they walked aimlessly, trying to get away from all these people. It wasn't long before they found an alley that they quickly ducked into, only to stop short upon seeing people already there.
They stiffened and contemplated just running, but the others had likely already seen them. And besides, maybe they actually knew something about this world. Not that they would ask anything, but maybe they could glean some information just from listening. It was worth a shot, they supposed.
Jay was following the boy at a distance, not really trying to look like he had picked up his pace. Still, while his eyes darted to the side once in a while to check if anybody was following him, he kept a look on the other's back. He slowed a little when the crowd thinned, deciding that walking faster now would probably look weird. Honestly, he was still wondering if this would even be worth the trouble at all. But it wouldn't hurt to at least tail him for a little longer.
If he lost him, then he could always see it as a sign to just continue on with his confusing life.
Quinn turned a corner, he still hadn't noticed the boy following him. Rather he turned the corner to lean on a wall and relax for a moment to think. Of course his position was so that he couldn't really be seen until one turned the corner as well. One of his hands was stuffed into his pocket, fiddling with his switch knife as a habit, while the other flicked a coin up and down; also another thinking habit. The bag would definitely be one of the first orders of business. Even though he already said this spirit stuff was nonsense, he probably would still need to get a move on outside the wall. Staying confined was not his style, and playing too long in one area would get him caught in no time. There's obviously more people like me here. Wonder how many. The thought was of the opposite of what most probably thought, thinking of the number was more of a how many and how to avoid them rather than the likelihood of finding them.
Jay's brows furrowed as he saw him move around a corner, losing sight of him for a moment. It was annoying to say the least; he didn't like not knowing what was awaiting him beyond a corner. Still, it was impossible to see into it, so Jay slowed his steps to keep on alert. He wasn't even sure why he was dreading it like this. If he took too long, he'd have lost him. Well, honestly, maybe he wanted that. He was pretty sure he wanted that deep down, even.
Shaking his head, he rounded the corner, almost knocking into the very person he'd been following. He startled for a second, then decided to play it off, as that was probably the best way to not appear suspicious. "Sorry," he murmured, trying to sound sincere. His voice sounded a little scratchy, but that wasn't too surprising to him. He really didn't like talking to people.
Steeling himself, he added, "This is probably a bad place to stand... it's hard to notice you." His eyes flicked to the side for a moment, trying to find the best route of escape in case any of this went badly.
