Jay frowned once it was over and they'd been pushed back out of the palace grounds, although he'd not went far into them, anyway. "I guess," he murmured. "Just means we have to be more careful." With them already knowing of their existence, Jay felt even more paranoid. Honestly, he'd not expected to have a manhunt start for them quite so soon, but here they were.
Lucius turned to Rose in surprise when she spoke, almost stumbling as the crowd kept pushing to get back out. Honestly, he didn't quite fancy a date with those guards, either. "Why would you do that?" he asked, wide-eyed. "You have no idea what they'll do to you once you reveal yourself." He'd lowered his voice while talking, not wanting to have anybody listen in. "If they even believe you, that is. We all still haven't even seen these abilities we're supposed to have, right?"
Michaela nodded in agreement, her eyes narrowed. "Yeah, let's get out of here. I'd rather not get found out while I have nothing to defend myself with," she replied, already turning to let the crowd push her along. Honestly, if they got found out, she'd rather have something to defend herself with. Even a baseball bat would do for that, but she didn't like relying on her hands alone.
"We wanted to grab food, right?" she continued, acting like the whole announcement just hadn't happened.
"Eh, I'm not worried." Quinn gave a shrug, shoukdering his way a pth for the two of them. He didnt trust that talk of someone coming forward they could just 'talk.' It wouldn't be as easy as staying low and finding his way about without a care of any prophecy now. He knew he would emd up having to do something now. His face scrunched up to look sour, muterring some curses under his breath as he thought of what he should do, forgetting about Jay in his moment of annoyance.
Rose flashed them a confident smile, "Awe come on, maybe there was just some misunderstanding that can be talked out." She put her hands on her hips, "Everyone deserves to be heard, besides, its not like we know much about whats going on." The way she said it was way too sure for the situation at hand, it was obvious she didnt plan on changing her mind. "I'll be fiiine. Stay hidden yourselves and get the full group. Dont worry about waiting up, I'll be quick." Her voice was getting quieter, spoken in a hurried whisper. Thid was due to the fact Rose was getting herself psyched up. Once the last word left her mouth she slipped into the crowd to vanish from the others. She decided she would wait till everything cleared out then march straight up and explain her situation. Due to the others worries she wouldn't say she found others, she was just passing by and confused so she decided the best course of action was to talk!
Jay raised his eyebrows at Quinn's cursing, even though it was quiet. He wasn't even quite sure what he was thinking about to react like that, but whatever. It wasn't like it was his place to stick his nose into that. So, instead, he simply said, "Well, you don't sound not worried." Maybe also not the nicest thing to say, but it was more what he was seeing than anything else.
"Wait-" Lucius started quickly, trying to reach out to grab her, but she'd already disappeared off into the crowds, disappearing from sight. He looked concerned as he let his hand fall back to his side. "Uhh, I don't think what she's doing is a good idea?" he said, turning to look at Oscar. There wasn't much they could do though, at least not without causing a huge scene. Lucius kind of really didn't want that.
"I guess we just have to wait and... see?" he continued.
Quinn immediately whipped around to face Jay, stickijg his nose at him and a condescending look stuck ok his face. "Not worried, just annoyed." He insisted, his idea to really drove his point across was to not hide his annoyance as he spoke that. Considering that he hadnt been too mean to Jay earlier, showing that he did have it in him to turn it against him would hopefully get Jay to leave it be. If not, well, then he'd burn that bridge when he got to it.
Alone and loveless here Just the girl in the mirror Just her and me, Wicked Witch of the East! We deserve each other...
Eirian tensed at the sound of an announcement. They didn't say anything, simply followed the other two. Their arms were crossed, and they stayed silent throughout the entire announcement. The king looked so young. But that was the least of their concern. The three of them - and surely others - were being hunted. When Peridot suggested they move, they nodded their agreement and immediately started walking away.
A weapon sounded great now. Just anything they could use. Food also sounded great. Something that sounded even better? Getting out of here. Going home. But even that wasn't ideal - they didn't exactly get along with their family. At least here, they'd get another chance. They glanced at the others. "Yeah, let's get some food. And weapons."
Jay didn't seem too taken aback by Quinn acting like that. He'd honestly expected that he wasn't really as nice as he'd been so far. Well, if nice was even the right word at all. "If you say so," he simply said, shrugging. It really wasn't worth fighting over, but then again, what was worth getting a headache for? He'd just stick around him for now, unless a better chance appeared. Though, Jay doubted that. Most other people would probably try to talk to him too much.
"...so, what next?" he finally added after a while.
"Okay, food with a side of weapons it is," Michaela joked, not seeming too concerned right now. The least they thought about it, the better, right? "We just gotta find money now - oh wait," she suddenly added, a smirk coming onto her face. Out of her pocket, she pulled a few coins, which she presented to the other two. "I dunno what you two did, but I grabbed some money off people." It really was shameful, in her eyes, but they needed the money more than others at the moment.
She'd told herself that she'd never do it again, though. Stealing wasn't what she liked, especially out of crowds where other poor people could be. "We just gotta find a place to eat at with the little money we have, now."
Oscar was not pleased by this outcome, he looked from the gates back to the castles. "Well, the party isn't going to wait, is it." He grumbles. "As much as I want to leave the girl in the castle, we can't simply miss out on the free food are we?" Unlike Rose he was being sarcastic, but he seriously didn't want leaving another poor sod that got pulled into the world and the first thing they get is trouble. "Come, Lucius, we don't want to keep the king waiting."
“I sort of scavenged around really and ‘borrowing’ from time to time.” Peridot explained when she took the coin from Michaela since she didn’t have money at all in the case of coins which happened to be the currency here, which coming here she did have to steal that did go against her pride however she only did so from those that were too rich for their own good without working for it as finding those people was very easy yet did make somewhat ‘powerful’ enemies if they recognize don’t her face.
(Yeah she stole from Vinny, and possible others stole from him too lol)
Vincent had stayed on the sidelines when the young king spoke however once the speech was over did the young man find himself walking down the long hallways of the castle deep in thought about these spirits which threatened everything they had been working for but that was only half of what was currently bugging him was that he had been robbed several times this past week from random people yet no culprits had been found of late. Steal from me? I’ll.... his thoughts did grow slightly dark from there however he quickly changed his deamnor to that of his charming self to passing guards who were patrolling.
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”

Quinn scanned Jay's face, searching for any sign of being sarcastic or talking back to annoy him. When he was satisfied that there wasnt a double edge to Jay's words, he backed up. "Honestly, no clue. I was planning on pretending to ne interested in all this then ditching." Well, at least he was being honest. "But now that we're going to be hunted down like dogs, looks like I'm going to have to rethink that." His usual fake smile appeared back on his face. "So then, with a situation where you dont like being around people, and I dont like being around people, but it would be idiotic to be caught alone; i think were in good condition with eachother to not step on eachothers toes then and get out of here huh?"
Both accepted! Also, about the revolver, I didn't really plan to have something like that, because like, revolvers can be a bit overpowered if the others only have swords and stuff, but she can have it haha. Just make sure to not let it be overpowered ))
"If we can even find her in this crowd again," Lucius pointed out. "Also, do we really want them to know the faces of all three of us?" He did want to help Rose, but this sounded way too reckless. He doubted the king would kill her, or anything like that. He'd at least sounded like he wanted to talk to the people that showed up. Well, he'd probably decide what to do after that, but still.
He honestly couldn't imagine why Rose would want to hand herself over like that. None of them had any clue what was going to happen.
Jay looked almost surprised at Quinn's words. He wasn't really sure if he'd expected them to really team up, honestly. Still, Quinn seemed at least kind of sincere. That would have to do for now. "I suppose," he answered, shrugging. It was as much of a yes as Quinn was going to get out of him, really.
He paused for a moment, then added, "Where to next, then?" Quinn seemed like he preferred to decide what to do, and Jay honestly didn't care.
Michaela gave Peridot a thumbs-up, grinning. "Good! Seems like we'll all get a nice meal, then," she said with a smile. With the money they both 'borrowed', they should have enough for a good meal. And maybe even a nice kitchen nice, though that could wait. They could totally also just find something, right? Or not, but Michaela wouldn't be picky when it came to weapons at all.
"Okay, if you guys see any shop that looks like it's got good stuff to eat just holler at me, yeah?"
"Supplies. So we dont end up dying two feet outside." He stuffed his hands in his pockets to pull out all that he managed to take from his earlier pickpocketing. "I got some money for casual supplies like food and junk. No idea where to find some good weapons here though." He was sure he could find something before long, whether legal or not, it would just take some snooping and friendly faces.
Rose had a skip in her step, with the crowd cleared up she was ready to make herself known with go hesitation whatsoever. She practically had a skip in her step as she bounced up to a guard. "Heya! Soooo I guess I need to talk to the King after that speech thingy." She was quick to start talking, "Cause I have no clue on anything here and hearing the stuff about murder made me sad," her words were coming out fast with no room for interruption as a long run-on sentence, "so I was like 'huh, it didn't feel like he was lying I should look into this!' And then everyone was getting shoved away so i was like 'aaaah gotta get out of the crowd and find someone!' But I didnt really know who cause ive never dealt with a king before so its like, 'who do i go to?' And so i finally figured to go ask a guard cause theyre the only ones i see around so here I am!" She practically spoke all that in one quick breath as she got herself excited. So much so, she never even said herself as a chosen one, focusing more on the details that didnt matter on her thinking process.
Jay hesitated for a moment, then also pulled the money he had on him out of his pockets. "I also have some," he said, figuring that they could use any that they could get. It was weird to need money, as he'd never been in that situation before. Still, when Quinn mentioned weapons, he shrugged. "...I'm sure there's some somewhere," he said quietly. "And I'm not defenseless, either." He had a knife on him, which he could always use if needed to defend himself.
--
The guard honestly seemed a little overwhelmed the moment Rose started to speak, looking like he wasn't sure how somebody could say that much with just one breath. Still, he got the general gist of what she had said, and while he wasn't sure if he was supposed to believe her, he'd gotten orders from the king to take anybody like that to him. And he wasn't about to go against his orders with the chance that she could be speaking the truth.
With a nod, he motioned for her to follow, then flagged down another guard to tell them to inform king Jaden of the situation. None of them had probably expected anybody to show up so quickly. His pace was brisk, although it would be easy enough to keep up. "Do not think about pulling any tricks once you stand before his majesty. While you will be left alone with him, guards will still be nearby," he warned her.
"Well, if that's what we're good to use with then its more up upkeep otems that we need. Keep the blades sharp and such." Quinn wasnt worried about his breaking on him or anything, he's had the thing for years. "I guess its shopping time. Ill try and haggle some prices down." There were a few ways he could do that that he thought could work well.
Rose was easily keeping up with a giddy skip, "Oh of course! I understand where youre coming from with the warning and theres no reason to trust mt words but I swear I wont be pulling any tricks." She drew an 'x' over her heart, "cross my heart!" Was that even a saying here? Who knew, she sure didn't. The words left rose's mouth just as fast as how she previously talked to him, thankfully with a lot less to explain. That is, until thr other guars was flagged down where she was practically beaming with excitement. "Ive never met a king before! Government is different where im from, how are you even supposed to act around a king?" She let out a gasp, "what if i accidentally do something disrespectful?" She was going off again with run-ons, "like am i supposed to curtsey like in the movies? Then again thats in mpvies where im from customs may not work the same way oh jeez this is nerve-wracking I'm so excited! He seemed nice enough so I'm not too wprried but just- wow- ya know?"
(Rose pls. Rip that guard his ear is gonna get talked off)

"What? Who said about telling them we're the evil spirits?" Oscar gave a smirking grin. He gently grabbed his arm and dragged him to the front of the gate where a guard was standing, one of them was missing so he assumed that Rose had already gone in. "Excuse me, have you seen my friend? A girl? Talks a lot? We seemed to have lost her in the crowd, she's a HUUUGE fan of the King and would do anything to get an audience with him, I'm worried that she might get into trouble with it." He acted quite worried, years of playing a charlatan sure does help.
