The MudWing had hardly enough time to comprehend what Parakeet was saying as he followed her in a daze through the tunnel. "Animus?" he asked aloud curiously. He remembered hearing tales from his older brothers and sisters about animus dragons, but he still hardly understood the concept. Something about losing your soul - "Aren't you worried about your soul?" he blurted.

Parakeet Parakeet said in response, "Well, no. I realized this so I protected my soul with my-Well, I really cannot tell you. Too dangerous." She knew it was one of the small scales near her talons. She couldn't tell anyone, though. Flying up, circling, and doing all the tricks she had always done when she was bored. The barrel roll while she looped was interesting. She changed her scales to the sky, attempting to confuse Dusty.

His eyes followed his roommate as he remained still on the ground. This is way too much to process, he thought as he put a claw to his head. What will learning in school be like? "Sooo... if you wanted to become queen of Pyrrhia, you can enchant an item to make you queen?" he inquired, still confused by the notion of magic.

Parakeet "Well, only if I actually wanted to be. I have lived on the outskirts for a while, and I intend it to be that way." She then finished with a twist while she flew, changing her scales again to regular. Landing, she said, "You have no need to fear of me. I am a defensive animus, not an aggresive animus." She muttered, "Kraka," and the tunnel opened. Diving down, she then waited for Dusty before closing it. Hollywing the

Dusty hurried behind Parakeet as she reopened the tunnel, a claw still held up to his head as if he had a headache. "Wait a second," he called out to her. "What about that race you mentioned?"

Parakeet Parakeet saw his claw on his head and said, "Do you have a headache? I can just speak some words and it will go. If you want to race, let's take the tunnel." She looked at the sky, with her wings twitching. The tunnels she made could be opened only if you concentrated on the tunnel you wanted to open and said Kraka. She took the same one back, to fly up and hover for a bit.

"No, not a headache," Dusty replied hurriedly as he struggled to find the words to explain his confusion. "It-t-t's... complicated." He glanced behind him at where the tunnel had closed only to find it now opening. The MudWing hastily followed behind Parakeet, stretching his wings as soon as he was outside again. "Ready to lose?" he teased.

Parakeet Parakeet took out a charm of endless strength, pressing it to her chest because she hadn't gotten much sleep last night. She put it back and said, "Says who? I was the champion of racing in the open." She spread her wings, lifted herself up, and then yelled, "Three, two," (letting you have a chance to get ready Hollywing the

Dusty crouched down as his pale amber eyes narrowed and his wings outstretched to their full span. "You're on, Parakeet," he muttered under his breath with a sly grin. He dug at the ground with his foreleg and got some dirt on his claws. Even though dirt didn't support him as well as mud, it did benefit him slightly. I bet she's going to use some of her animus magic or something to her advantage, he thought. So might as well strengthen myself as well.

Parakeet Parakeet knew that Dusty thought she was using animus powers. So she grabbed a shred of paper and said, "Wait, I will use something real quick." She enchanted it to not allow her animus powers for the amount it was on her. She then yelled, "One!" and flew off.

The MudWing frowned as the hybrid wrote something down, assuming it was to guarantee her a win, but shook it off. Whatever animus powers she's using, they won't stop me! he thought fiercely. As his roommate called out for the start of the race, he beat his wings and jumped into the air.
The winds blew past him and he smiled widely at the sensation of soaring. However, he wasn't flying for enjoyment - he was flying to win. He flapped his wings and pushed himself forward, his tail straightening as his eyes blazed with determination.

Parakeet Parakeet took her friend up and flew with airborne power. Her wings were a blur, as she took the lead, willing herself not to have bad posture so she could win. She took her piece of paper and ate it, so she could not use animus power until it got broken up too much. Taking her wings and furling them, she caught a gust, propelling her through the air. She said, "Turn right ahead!" The rock spur was ahead, and she flew ahead. Now, she willed her wings to catch the gusts like she was swimming in the sea. Those ripples were hard to use, but she angled her wings to catch all of the good currents but to brush off the bad ones. Beating her wings faster than she ever had, she dove into a valley. "Finish in the valley!"

Dusty followed only a claw-length behind the hybrid but from a greater height so that whatever obstacles such as a rock spur wouldn't bother him too much. He narrowed his eyes down at the valley he assumed Parakeet was talking about and pressed his wings closer to his body as he dove at a steep angle. I can make it, I can make it, he repeated in his head like a mantra.
The MudWing landed cleanly on the ground and glanced back for his friend, ready to declare his triumph.

Parakeet was changing her scales to the ground, as she had gotten there just a talon-length ahead of Dusty. She leapt on him almost as soon as he looked. From the side, of course. Smiling, she said, "I wrote a spell to disallow me to use animus powers. It will dissolve eventually, and I will not be able to do anything with them until that happens." She then picked up a twig. "I enchant this twig to grant the holder the ability to summon food." She passed it to Dusty. ( Hollywing the)

Starfish Starfish watched Scorpion leave to talk to Hail. She sighed. Who would she hang out with now? Maybe she shouldn't have recommended the IceWing-SkyWing dragonet. Well, too late now. She slipped out of the cave and into the Main Cave. Nobody was out and about, atleast that she knew of, besides Scorpion and probably Hail. The green SeaWing dragonet glanced toward the entrance that led to outside. There was a small pond that sat near the mountain. Maybe I'll go swimming.
