WC:UT Tips and Tricks
Stuck somewhere? Want to be... tricky? Well, you've come to the right place, because I'm going to give you all some tips and tricks!
Rogue Clans
Having a Rogue Clan seems confusing and even hard for some, but you can make it easy!
Building Up
To begin, grab a tile. You should really grab one from this list of hotspots from the WC:UT wikia. The two I find best are Training Hollow and the tile that is two tiles below the outlook rock. But take your pick!
On your chosen tile, lay down your den. Just go on the tile, pick a random spot on the tile (preferably the middle) and click Build Den. Bam, this is where you'll sleep and save your game! Don't worry, you can clear it and move it somewhere else on the tile later, no panic.
All tiles are rated based off their "stats" which are:
If they have water nearby
If they have brambles nearby
If there isn't/are any battles nearby
If prey is abundant around the area
And the hotspots with the best stats, are... well, the best hotspots!
Now gather brambles. Three brambles in the same inventory slot make 1 thicket. (Thickets are very important!) Unfortunately in each inventory slot you can only put 1 thicket. And you can only drop the thickets on the tile where your den is. So get workin', and grab a bunch of brambles!
Each time you fill your inventory with thickets, be sure to place them down to make your camp walls. Thickets are basically walls; you can't get through them, and neither can other cats! They're also important for attracting your rogues.
It's reccomended to make your camp a large rectangle, with 1-3 enterances. If there are no enterances, you'll be trapped forever! (Nuu!) So be careful!
Once you finish, be free to place the den itself wherever you want it to be. And now, for the fun part...
Attracting Rogues
Yay! Now it's time to attract some rogues and actually get some clan members! So, first, you must get some moss by scratching a tree or a sign. Collect a bunch, then place them close to thickets. Afterwards, place a prey item on top of the moss. Finally, go to sleep when the time comes, and there's a chance that a rogue will come!
Rogues show up with a random pelt and a random 'rogue' name! There are multiple things you can do with your rogue, and they all are as follows:
Let them stay
Chase them off
Rename them
Change your Clan symbol
Choose which direction they face
Tell them to follow you
Meanwhile, you can also attract a potential mate, who will work just like a mate in the Clans, and bear a 'rogue' name that you can't change! Instead of putting prey on some moss, put a Shiny Thing on it, then wait a few in-game days! Eventually the mate will come!
Fun Rogue Facts!
Rogues always have 99 Reputation. It never increases or decreases.
Rogues can still go to gatherings!
Rogues cannot go to the moonstone.
Rogues can join a Clan they have unlocked by giving the clan "recruiter" gifts. Eventually you'll be back in the CLAN! However, all rogue cats will despawn by doing this, but the camp objects that aren't rogues will remain.
Speedy Mates and Kits!
Everyone (maybe) likes mates and kits. But, do you want them super fast? Like, in less than a season! Well, you've arrived to the place where you'll learn how!
GETTING A MATE AT THE SPEED OF LIIGHT!
Now it's time to talk about mates. Here I'll combine how to get a mate and how to get one FAST!
First, you must give your potential mate gifts. To get one FAST, I gave my potential mate at least 3 shiny things a day, mainly 9 per day. But as you give more of the item constantly, the effectiveness starts to decrease for the day. So be careful!
After a few days of this, they might ask to be your mate! Press SPACEBAR to say yes, and BAM! Mate Obtained! They'll give you helpful gifts too. Well, not ALWAYS helpful, but it can be fun to see what your mate (OR potential mate) gives you!
Kittens! Who doesn't love KITTENS! (Kits)
Now we're going to kits. This is slightly more complicated, but it's fun to have one!
First, you must have a mate, of course. Now, give them lots of moss every day. I gave my mate 9 moss every day, and the kit came QUICK! If you don't know, you can get moss by scratching trees or signs. Eventually the moss will come! Giving moss will boost the process by quite a bit!
Now, go to sleep every night with hunger at Stuffed and thirst at Quenched. Eventually a kit will come! Its gender will be randomly generated, and you can give it a prefix. You can't change this prefix, however! HELPFUL TIP: Your kit will always have the pelt color of your mate!
Kits might just seem like little dots on the ground that are your mate's pelt color, but they grow! Your kit will eventually talk to you, and can become an apprentice and a warrior with a randomly generated suffix!
Well, that was fun.
Secretive Secrets...
Yup, we're going to talk about the secret pelts here.
Trainer Tune pelt: Make your cat's prefix 'Fire' and its suffix 'star'. When you make a new cat from the bonus shop, it will be unlocked!
Tiger pelt: Make your cat's prefix 'Untold' and its suffix 'tales'. When you make a new cat from the bonus shop, your pelt will be ready to use!
Secret 'Orange' Pelt: Name your cat Ember. You can have its prefix 'Em' and its suffix 'ber', or 'Emb' and 'er'... The pelt will be on the cat! However you cannot make a new cat with this pelt. All you can do is rename yourself with Coco, and BAM! The cat will still have the pelt!
