Moonlight Dynasty Welcome in! This is the main topic for my fan made Warriors game, Moonlight Dynasty(Formerly known as Rise of the Clans). Here you'll find everything regarding the game. From downloads, to lore, all the way to contests for in game rewards! If you have any questions, please feel free to comment or send a DM to me!
Contents: First post - Introduction, brief lore, download link, and start up guide Second post - Allegiances Third post - Bug list, contest info, full list of features, and tag list Fourth post - FAQ, changelog
I've had ideas and rough builds for the game since around 2016, with September of 2017 seeming to be the last time I released a public download for play testing. The game is built with RPG Maker MV and uses many of it's basic assets, along with community made edits and scripts. A full list of credits is included in the download file, if you want to find the creators! Notable inspiration for the game is drawn from Untold Tales, World of Warcraft, and Skyrim!
While I originally didn't plan on releasing a test version of the game until the first chapter of story mode was completeable for all clans, my health is in a very uncertain place right now. I'll continue working on the game as I was before, but I'd like to get at least a small part of the game out to the public just in case my situation takes a turn for the worst. This means you'll only be able to play as ThunderClan or ShadowClan cats at this time.
Territory and Story
The game takes place in the forest, presumably a few generations before Rusty joins ThunderClan. There are no official lore characters in the game. Every NPC in this game is an original character of mine or of a close friend. Some are even inspired by canon characters in various media, so you might see a few familiar faces! It's worth noting that the game does have some dark themes in the story. IE kit death, coma, and the player having the ability to kill.
ThunderClan is adjusting to their life with a young leader, Cloudstar. Shortly after becoming leader Cloudstar invited his friend, Bran, to join the clan. Though the two had been life long friends, many cats were angry that he'd allow a former kittypet into the clan. Though he may seem selfish and mouse-brained, Cloudstar is respected, if not feared, by many cats in the forest. He's most known for killing Spiderstar, the former ShadowClan leader, over a territory battle.
RiverClan has a newly appointed leader, Minnowstar. The previous leader, Beetlestar, appointed her as deputy after the former one, Marmontclaw, was caught warning WindClan of an incoming RiverClan invasion. Shortly after this, Beetlestar lost his last life to old age. Minnowstar now heavily relies on the guidance of her senior warriors. She is known for being sharp-tongued and having a kind heart.
Twelve moons have passed since ShadowClan had to banish many clanmates. When greencough started to pick the clan apart the clan came to the conclusion that they needed to send the sick cats away. Due to the former medicine cat being one of the cats to leave, Sablethorn stepped down from his rank as deputy to become a medicine cat after his mate and daughter died. Spiderstar appointed Blackwing as the next deputy, and he currently leads ShadowClan. Blackstar is well known for his manipulation tactics and fighting skills.
WindClan and it's leader, Tanglestar, have deep roots and stand tall against any foe. Though she is patient and skilled in conflict resolution, Tanglestar seems to often over look the opinions of her warriors. This leaves many of the more impulsive cats in WindClan unsatisfied with their leader's choices, and all the more likely to lash out.
Download Link Current Version - 0.3.12 Beta This game is intended for play on a PC or Android phone! It's under one gb in size. If you're playing on PC it's in a zip file! This means you'll need something like winrar or 7zip to open it.
There are two major differences between the android and pc versions. Android users will need to tap their screen with two fingers to open their menu and erase letters when inputting a name.
!! Android users will need to delete their old game client and restart their phone before installing the new one. Currently there is no way to move save files over. !!
Warning: Beta is,,, beta... Although we've tried to comb through the worst of the bugs, it's very likely you will still run into an issue or two. This could be as simple as noticing a cat's design doesn't match their icon, or it could be game breaking. I'd like to suggest saving often! As long as you mention any bugs, I'll likely be able to fix them the same day. <3

1. The dungeon master for ThunderClan is a little wonky right now, but he works! When you enter the dungeon you might get one to two text boxes asking you to choose the difficulty. Just press esc, or double tap if you're on mobile! This will be fixed soon.
Above is a list of all known bugs that will be fixed ASAP! Found a bug? Please DM me some information about it. If you're not sure what to say, here's a few guidelines. What is the bug? Where were you when the bug happened? What quests were you working on? What is your cat's gender? Did you have a mate? Kits? Are you a mentor? Was your apprentice with you?
Community: Contests and More Beta Tester Rewards: Complete Beta Tester Contest closed as of 5/27/2020
Art Contest: Complete Art Contest closed as of 9/27/2020
Game Features Curious about what all there is to do while playing? Below you'll find a full list of every feature currently in the game. (Please note that not everything shown in screenshots is currently available in the game! Everything in text is working as intended, but screenshots may show some dev items or content that is currently unavailable.)
Hideouts Want to get away from everything? Craft special items? Make a garden? Place your stockpile to hold your accessories, titles, and affinities? Craft nests to meet special cats? The basic hideout item can be bought from your clan deputy! Happy home making!
Player mates Want your cat to be mates with your partner's character? Is your oc mates with your rp partner's character? Wanna be mates with yourself? By talking to the upper part of the Moonstone, you can use codes to spawn your custom mate into your game and generate your own codes for someone else to use! Player mates will have custom set personalities in the future. Right now they can be renamed, broken up with, and you can have a single kit with them! (Litters of 2+ will be added in the future) Player mates work with custom skins!
Mentoring By following the main storyline you'll be assigned an apprentice, which will unlock the ability to have them follow you! While they're with you they'll help you in battle, and you'll have an item that will let you talk to them. Screenshots:
Hunting / Herb collecting Depending on your role, warrior or medicine cat, you will have access to either hunting or collecting herbs. These both reward exp, and both have quests to unlock better items and rewards. There are cats in the clan camp that will sell you prey if you're a medicine cat, or herbs if you're a warrior. Additionally, your trainer can teach you to catch better prey / find better herbs through a few collection quests! Screenshots:
Map and Questlog Lost? Don't know where to go for a quest? You have a map and questlog! They can be found by opening the menu (esc) selecting items, and they're under key items. If you're not feeling up to a task, you can also abandon quests from the questlog.
Customization Options While the fur color options aren't to their full potential in this release, there are many accessory options available. These along with other aspects of character creation will continue to expand in future releases. Be on the look out for a rare item which will allow you to copy the appearance of any clanmates. Additionally, there are currently four hidden accessories and two hidden fur colors. Screenshots:
Abilities and Ability Quests As you level up you'll unlock new abilities. These skills are different depending on weather you're a medicine cat or a warrior. Once you reach level 10 you can meet with your clan's trainer to unlock new abilities. These can be split into two categories: ranks and affinities. Ranks are stronger versions of the skills you learned as you leveled. Affinities are specializations that allow some variety in combat. Cats under different affinities will learn spells unique to their choice.
Roaming NPCs Are you on another clan's territory? You should be on the look out for cats from that clan roaming the land. While they'll have respect for wandering medicine cats, warriors won't get off so easy. Additionally, these enemies get stronger as you level.
Random Events While out in the forest there is a high chance for you to run into one of many random events. It could be a lost kittypet, perhaps a dangerous dog, or something else entirely. With more than ten varieties, see if you can encounter them all!
Hideouts Much like the idea in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, players can purchase hideouts. These work as player housing, of sorts. These will be added in 0.2.5. More information then.
Stockpiles Sick of carrying around all your titles, accessories, and affinities? While adventuring in the forest you might just find a stock item, or you can buy it from your clan's deputy. Bring this item to your hideout and set down your very own stockpile to stash away all your collections.
Reputation and Repercussion Have you broken the code? Do you have a secret? Is there something you didn't do? Be careful of what you say to those around you. Cats involved with whatever it was you did will become suspicious of you. At a certain point they'll react accordingly. Additionally, when a cat in your clan dies you'll find a rock marking their burial spot.
Morality Want to be an angel? Want to be the forest's worst nightmare? Your moral choices through the story will give you extra options and rewards!
Mates Multiple cats are romanceable. There are no gender preferences, meaning you're free to pursue any of them regardless of your character's gender. The mate system is akin to a dating sim. Along with collecting "hearts", each cat has a unique quest associated with being their mate. Mates will occasionally give you gifts, and if your GAAB alines with theirs you can have kits. Alternatively, you can likely find a cat that would be happy for you to take their kits off their paws. You can tell stories to your kits, and give gifts to your mate that might just reward you with something special!
NOTE: There is currently no repercussion for having a mate as a medicine cat. This will come soon, though. The system used for it is currently working and being tested by the hidden mate in this build. Screenshots:
Dungeons and Boss Fights You might just find a vicious animal of the wild while exploring the forest. If you defeat it and bring proof of the battle back to your clan leader you'll need to gather some allies and take the fight to the remaining threats. These are repeatable and have varying levels of difficulty.
Main Storylines and Side Questlines When it comes to quests there are a few types. Main Story, Side Quests, and Progression Quests. The main storyline follows a story that is unique to your character's clan. Side Quests come in a few sizes. The repeatable ones come from the clan's Medicine Cat, Queen, and Deputy respectively. The unrepeatable ones are given out by various cats in your clan. Progression Quests are the ones required to unlock new skills and abilites. (The main storyline for ThunderClan is currently incomplete. You can progress to phase seven before having to wait for the next update. While this isn't much as far as main quests go, it does have some replayability with there being good/grey/bad variations depending on your choices.) Screenshots:
Weather Cycles Clear skies? Rain? Snow? We've got it all.
Day / Night Cycles While you're in the forest, time will progress from day, dusk, night, and dawn. Some creatures will only appear during the night, and certain cats like particular times of day. Screenshots:

Can our kits grow up? They will grow up as the story progresses by chapters. We're currently in chapter one. After the first raid the game will progress to chapter two and your kits will become apprentices. So on and so forth.
Can I become a leader? While I have talked about ideas for adding this, I've decided it is not the direction I want the game to move in.
Can we have (This Cat) as a mate? The romantic options in the game are not finished. The current options are not all in character, and not every planned mate route is included.
How many kits can I have?
There will always be two kits by your first mate, and their genders will always be randomized on birth.

Oops sorry I got distracted with my other projects and forgot to check back here ‘～`；
Wurt the Merm - I'm not winrar's customer support o: I'm sure there are lots of topics and videos explaining how to close out of their popups. No one on the other topic (Link in signature) had any issue unpacking the game. Sorry it's being a barricade for you! (◕︵◕)
Hahaha when I was play testing my favorite mini game was "Collect as many burial rocks as you can" sksksks What's game without a little murder?
Thanks for pointing that out! o: I'll fix that now. <3
@mothwing - Computers are supposed to be sketched out by exe files. It's just cautionary. My computer scanned the game even though I'm literally the one that made it sksks. It's just what they do. The scans always come back clean.
