PROLOGUE
A gray she-cat sprints through the undergrowth. Her long gray fur snags on a clump of nettles as she runs, but she doesn't stop. Her blue eyes swivel left and right, as if looking for something that is chasing her. Everything is silent in the moonlit forest except the rustle of grass and leaves. In her mouth is a clump of fur. She slows down as she nears four giant oaks, a place she knows called Fourtrees. She stops below the giant stone in the center, then calls out, "Tune, you there?"
A rustling can be heard behind the gray cat. A strong, fit brown tabby she-cat appears in sight. Her left ear is slightly torn and she has a few scars on her right hind leg. Her green eyes glow like emeralds in the moonlight. "Yes, I am here. Do have the kit?" Her voice is rough, but kind. At these words, the gray cat sets down the clump of gray fur. Tune sits beside the she-cat, bending her head to get a good look at the small kit.
"She looks like you, except the eyes. Do you have a name for her, Moon?" Tune asks her friend, straightening up.
"Yes. Her name is Wolf. You will keep to your promise, yes?" Moon replies softly.
"Of course I will! What makes you think otherwise? You know it wasn't my fault my kits died!" Tune snaps. She must have realized that she was too harsh, because she ducks her head, her face a mixture of embarrassment and regret.
"If you want me leave right now, I can go," Moon answers stiffly.
"No! I want you to stay! Lets just spend our last night together, happily." Moon and Tune lay down, doing a Clan thing known as sharing tongues, for the rest of the night. When the sun's first rays hit the trees, Moon stands up.
"I must go now. Watch over her. Stay safe," she says softly, then she turns to the moors. Her body disappears in the tall grass, leaving Tune and the grey kit alone in the clearing. After a while, Tune's concentration turns to the kit, who has began to mew and wobbles blindly to Tune, following the faintest scent of milk. She finds Tune and suckles, kneading her belly with tiny grey paws. "You have a good nose, Wolf," she murmurs. Tune curls closer to the kit, and they stay there for several hours.

Gone/Dead Clan cat (even tho her name isnt a clan name :/) because then we can say Moon left her kit with Tune because her kit was half rogue/half kittypet/half clan so that would explain why she left Wolf with tune, because she might be scared she'll be banished if her clanmates find out. Or she could have the bluestar situation kinda. also does this by any chance happen to be partly based off my fanfic Lunastar's tale XD cause in that Luna starts as a kittypet so she doesn't have the leader name and Luna means moon in latin, and Luna ends up befriending tune who helps her survive XD just curious. Sounds like a good story tho :3 can't wait to see how it continues

Its not based off your fan fiction, but I guess it could be indirectly. I like your fan fiction a lot! Also, thanks for your input for what Moon is!

CHAPTER ONE
18 moons later...
The bright sun glares down at a brown tabby, despite the green leaves of the great oaks. She veers her head from one side to the other, her ears pricked. A rustling is heard from behind her, then a split second later, a small gray she-cat lunges from the tall grass. The brown tabby leaps to the left, and just as Wolf's paws touched the ground, Tune lunges. In moments, Tune pins down Wolf. A proud smile flickers across her face as she backs off. Then she's back to her scolding.
"You should have kept to your nip and scratch tactic. Anyway, you've been gone a long time. Where did you go?"
"Tried hunting in a new environment." Though Wolf would never admit it, she had offered to join WindClan, but Proudstar turned her down. At least he did it politely. Clearstar had snarled at her to leave. Tune sniffed her, then scowled.
"You went to WindClan! What have I told you about the Clans, how worthless it is to join?" Tune spat.
"Well, forgive me for wanting a home and not to be alone for the rest of my life!" Wolf snarled. Tune flinched at these words, but her voice softened.
"Have I told you that you can make your own clan?" Tune asked, sitting down. Wolf sat beside her, listened attentively.
After Tune had explained how to do make it, as well as the hard work included in it, Wolf had her heart set to make her own clan. She followed Tune's instructions. First, pick a location and set down your den. Then, start gathering a lot of brambles and moss.
After scratching up enough materials, she laid down 4 dens. The first one was put in an open clearing by Fourtrees. The second in another clearing, close by the first one. The third was on a cliff by the Gorge. The forth den was placed in a mostly clear space, which, aside from the tall grass, had a small rock spire and tree. All the dens made a large square. She had ideas already for how the camp would be arranged. The first and forth would contain the clan cats. The third would be the burial grounds. The second would be storage.
When sunset came, Tune shared a plump squirrel she had caught with Wolf. They both curled together in Tune's den, like they had for as long as Wolf could remember. She had a strange dream, yet a pleasant one. It had her and a strange gray cat standing on a spire of rock, cats surrounding them. Her clan was complete. But what was strange about the dream was that the gray cat seemed familiar...

CHAPTER TWO
For several moons, Wolf works hard to finish the first part of the camp. Leaf-fall comes and she has finished the walls, and is working on the interior. When the Gathering commences, she and Tune clear out. The Clans doesn’t really care about Tune, because she honors the Warrior Code and doesn’t make problems, so they let her go when they find her on their land. Still, Tune and Wolf aren’t used to so many cats, and some Clan cats aren’t all that welcoming…
“I can’t say I’m not impressed. Doing it by yourself and making so much progress,” Tune remarks when she sees the progress on the den.
“I know. After I hunt a few mice and scrape some moss together, I can put guards on the entrances. And put in a water source.”
There are four entrances and she needs guards. She has gotten a few tight spots with WindClan when they found the camp. The moors are a dry place, and Wolf isn’t in the mood to go all the way down to the river. Besides, kits wouldn’t be able to go outside and get the fresh river water. After a little gathering and hunting with Tune, they lay down moss and two prey per entrance. They also build a small water station, which is really a strip of moss and river stones surrounding it. Exhausted, Wolf flops onto the den and saw Tune lay down some moss beside the den and places a strange shiny thing. Her mind succumbed to sleep before she could question it.
When she woke up, Wolf hears rustling. She left her den and saw a brown tabby, but a tom. He is much larger than me. His amber eyes search the moors, but for what, she doesn’t know. He is standing in one of the guard posts. He twists to see me, then flashes a friendly smile. Relief floods her, happy to see a friendly face on the strange cat. He made a beckoning motion with his tail, so Wolf sat beside him.
“Do you know where I can find the leader of this camp?” he asks. “I am the leader, Wolf. This camp is home to cats of WildClan,” Wolf introduces. He doesn’t say anything, but his face shows a brief moment of disbelief. Then he catches himself. “I am Fang. I have a come from a far place, wandering my whole life. I have found this camp and I want to stay,” he explains.
“Can you hunt and fight?” “Kind of.”
Wolf tests him for the rest of the morning by asking him to hunt rabbits and does spars with him. He is a born fighter, but his hunting skills need improvement. Wolf decides to let him stay. She introduces Fang to Tune. Tune takes him out in the afternoon, saying that she will help him hunt. When he comes back, he brings back a rabbit and they talk as they eat it together.
“Do you want a warrior’s name?” Wolf asks. His mouth is full, so he nods. “I, Wolf, leader of WildClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this rogue. He will train hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in his turn. Fang, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?” He swallows his prey. “I do.” "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior names: Fang, from this moment you will be known as Tigerpelt. StarClan honors your loyalty and strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of WildClan,” Wolf finishes.

CHAPTER THREE
Two nights later, six cats have come to join. Two of them are kits and three guards, but the last cat makes Wolf nervous. The cat reeks of ThunderClan and she recognizes him immediately. It is Skystar, leader of ThunderClan and in his mouth is a kit. The kit is about apprentice sized, a leopard spotted tom. Wolf charges out of her den to Skystar, who was standing in the middle of the camp.
“Skystar. What are doing here?” Wolf asks stiffly. “We found this kit and word traveled fast last gathering of a new Clan on WindClan territory. So, I was hoping you would take him, Wolfstar.”
Wolf shifts her gray paws, uneasy. She hasn’t been declared leader by StarClan yet, and she wasn’t sure to tell the white tom that. I will tell them on the next gathering. By then, I should have my 9 lives.
“I will take him. If you find any other rogues send them here. WildClan is open to all.”
Wolf takes the kit from the leader and drops the kit in one of the dens.
“This is where you will sleep for now. When the apprentice den is built, you will sleep there. What’s your name?” Wolf asks gently. “None of your business. But if you need to know, its Hawk,” the tom replies flatly. “If you can’t be respectful, you will be thrown out,” Wolf hisses, then stomps out of the den. She had a feeling that Hawk would be a nuisance, but she had to get away before she lashes out on a cat. Hunting always makes her feel better.
An hour later, she returned with four squirrels and a few rabbits. After laying them down in the fresh-kill pile, she looks for Hawk, but he isn’t in the den. She checks the other dens, then the nursery. Hawk is playing with the kits, who have climbed over him and had him pinned down. He is laughing, trying to push himself up. When Hawk sees Wolf, his smile turns to scowl. He shoves the kits off him roughly and heads to his nest. I will take him with me to Mothermouth. Him, Tigerpelt, and Scar, Wolf decides. She had a feeling she would regret bringing Hawk with her, though.
The sun is setting by the time she had convinced them to come with her. Tigerpelt had immediately said yes, but Hawk and Scar had hesitated. Scar is a calico tom, with a scar over his amber eye. Wolf hadn’t asked yet how he got it, but her guess is a badger. Wolf had been to Mothermouth once, when she was a kit, but she still remembered when Tune had said, “Follow the Thunderpath to its end. That’s where you will find Mothermouth.”
As they walk beside the Thunderpath, Wolf notices that every time a monster rumbles by, Hawk jumps. Even stiff Scar flinches when a monster passes them. But Wolf had seen the monsters so many times, she knew that they would stay on the Thunderpath. By the time they see the huge cave, it is moonrise.
“Me and Tigerpelt will go in. You two will stay out here,” Wolf orders. Scar lays down by the entrance, resting his paws. “Why should I stay out here and guard?” Hawk complains. “You can rest while guarding. Or do you want to continue walking?” Wolf snaps. His arguing is getting on her nerves.
Hawk’s silence is enough of an answer as he stations himself on the other side of Scar. Then they turn to the cave, the darkness waiting to swallow them. Wolf leads the way through the smooth cool stone tunnel. They walk for some time, when they come into a small cavern with a hole to the sky. Moonlight casts down into the middle of the space where a large silver stone sat, the Moonstone.
Suddenly feeling quite nervous, she pads to the Moonstone. She lays down in front of it, then looks at Tigerpelt. He gives a reassured nod to it, and she rests her head, her nose barely touching the Moonstone. The last thing she sees before she closes her eyes is the silver light. She opens them and finds herself in a meadow of long green grass, and nine cats approach her.

CHAPTER FOUR
Wolf backs up so suddenly, she trips over her paws. Not only had she fallen, but her dignity had as well. She sits ups and tries to sooth her ruffled fur. It was no use: she always had burs in her scruffy fur. She eyes the StarClan cats as they get nearer, her tail flicking back and forth nervously.
Five were she-cats and four were toms. Two of them were running full pelt at her. They don’t stop in time. All of them end up in a heap in the tall grass. Wolf shoves them off her and is surprised to find they were kits. One was a tom with blue eyes, his black fur neat and sleek, even though he had tumbled. The other was cream colored tabby with light green eyes. Her fur was scruffy like Wolf’s. The strange thing about them was that they seemed familiar and they seemed excited.
“Wolf, its you! We have been waiting forever to see you!” mewled the cream kit. “Daisy, calm down. She doesn’t know who we are, do you?” the black kit asked. He seemed slightly upset.
Wolf shakes her head.
“Well, then we should make introductions! I am Daisy and this is Vulture,” the cream kit breaks into a smile, “We’re your littermates!”
Wolf’s emotions end up jumbled: she was confused at first, then happy, then sad. Her sister and brother were dead.
“Ho-How did you die?” Wolf asks nervously. She wasn’t sure if this truth was one she wanted to know. “I died at birth. Daisy died a day later,” Vulture answered. He glances behind them. The other seven cats were only a fox length away. One of them introduces himself to Wolf.
“Hello, Wolf. I am Thunderheart. We will give you nine lives… If you agree to a few conditions,” a strong tom said. Thunderheart had black fur, except for his muzzle and paws, which were snow white. His amber eyes were like two tiny suns against the black. “What are the conditions?” Wolf asks. She already knew what they would be. “One condition is that you will be the best leader you can be. You will receive guidance on the Warrior Code. The last one…” He glances at Daisy, who ducked her head. “You will never harm our mother or father with your claws,” Daisy mumbled, all of her energy dissipated.
Wolf cocks her head to the side, puzzled. She had no idea who her parents were, only that they weren’t Tune. Tune was nice and caring, but she didn’t treat her like a daughter. Wolf felt more like Tune’s best friend than her daughter. Tune had told her that she had found Wolf alone in a clearing when Wolf was six moons old. If Wolf did find out who her parents were, why would she harm them? Wolf nods her head in agreement.
All the other cats disappear, except Thunderheart. And so, begins the painful process of getting nine lives.

CHAPTER FIVE
When Wolf wakes up, she aches. Well, I am Wolfstar now. I wish someone warned me how painful it is getting nine lives. She gets to her paws slowly and lets out a small groan. She stands up, stretches her legs and tail, rolling her neck. “Are you alright?” Tigerpelt asks, worried. Wolfstar jumps, for she had forgot that he was here. “Yeah, I am fine. How long was I out?” Wolfstar looks up to see the sky through the hole. The sky was much lighter. She guesses it is dawn. “You were asleep for a while. You mumbled a few things in your sleep,” Tigerpelt replies. She signals with her tail for him to follow with her, walking back into the dark tunnel.
When they get leave Mothermouth, a huge mound of leopard fur pins Wolfstar to the ground. Wolfstar manages not to claw Hawk. “You were in there for so long and I got so bored and worried. He was a big stick in the mud and no help.” Hawk points his claw at the maimed tom. Wolfstar resists a smile and a gale of laughter.
On the way back, Hawk explained what happened that night. Scar and Hawk had waited on the entrance, bored to death. Hawk said that the only amusement he had was poking Scar’s wounded eye when he slept, dodging the blows that followed. However, Wolfstar wasn’t listening. She thinking of the names to be given out to her Clan. When they are almost to the den, Scar turns to her.
“Did you get your nine lives?” Scar asks. Everyone turns to her. Wolfstar knew that this question would come, but did have to have such an awkward pause?
Wolfstar nods, and they slide into the den. More cats have joined WildClan. The nursery is had more kits, a queen watching as they tackle. Scar and Tigerpelt go back to their posts after grabbing a squirrel to share. Wolfstar branches off to see the kits.
Two more kits have joined. The mother, Fang, introduces herself and her kits. One looked like her, scruffy brown fur over black stripes and dots, his yellow eyes squinting. He is a tom called Sunkit. The last one was Rosekit, a ginger she-cat. Her eyes haven’t developed all the way. These kits couldn’t be more than a few days old. After Wolfstar asked Fang if she wanted to change her name, she said yes. Her new name is Leopardheart.
Wolfstar heads to the guards to see which one should be deputy and if anyone wanted to be medicine cat. Wave is inexperienced and is fine with a name swap. Her new name is Darksplash. Shade knows much about herbs and is made the new medicine cat. She asks for a new name and Wolfstar gives her new name, Stormberry. Scar is seasoned and experienced, so he becomes deputy. He asks for a new name, which is Owlpatch.
After that she chooses her cats to go to the Gathering. Owlpatch, Stormberry, Hawkpaw, and Darksplash come with her. The Gathering takes place every full moon and now that the trees are bare and the air is cold, the start of leaf-bare is almost upon them. After a short and uneventful run, they emerge into Fourtrees. The trees feel smaller without their leaves. She leads her small group into the Gathering. No one notices until she jumps onto the large stone.
Clearstar hisses at her, Proudstar glares at her, Skystar is surprised, and Rotstar is just looking at her. “What are you doing, rogue? Get out. This place is for Clan cats,” Clearstar growls. “Funny you should mention that, because I am a Clan cat. A leader like you,” Wolfstar purrs. “What is the name of your Clan? Do you even have nine lives?” Proudstar yowls. “The name of is Wolfstar, my clan is WildClan, and yes, I have nine lives.” Wolfstar adds that same tone Proudstar uses on ‘nine’. She finds it annoys cats.
“Then let’s prove it,” Proudstar growls, claws out. Then Rotstar tackles Proudstar to the ground just as an eerie howl meets their ears. Proudstar shoves Rotstar off, livid. “Why did do that?” Proudstar spits. “Didn’t you hear that howl of a dog? That is a sign from StarClan not to kill her,” Rotstar replies smoothly. Wolfstar had other thoughts of Rotstar’s actions. Why was Rotstar, a cat who hated cats outside Clans, was being so defensive and friendly of her? And why did he seem so familiar? Then she put it together.
