Title: Don't Go, Mama
Word Count: 450 / 2,500
Description: Cat A is Cat B's mother. Cat A is about to abandon Cat B, but Cat B catches up with Cat A and begs them to not go. What happens next?
Creator: Lauren
Other: For all of you who love sweet kit fluff. This can be written from either Cat A's or Cat B's perspective (maybe even Third Person Omniscient?), and third person probably works best. Be sure to include why Cat A wants to leave and try to make it reasonable to the reader. The goal of this challenge is to keep it fairly short whilst trying to make it as heart-warming as possible. Emotion is especially important in this challenge. Be creative with the ending: does Cat A stay or go?
Title: Death is Knocking on My Door
Word Count: 750 / 4,500
Description: Cat A is told that they are deathly ill and have only a few days of life left. However, Cat A stubbornly insists that they are strong enough to continue their duties. But Cat A grows weaker, and they know that it's only a matter of time...
Creator: Lauren
Other: First would be easiest for this challenge, though Third works too. Be creative with who is telling Cat A they're running out of time (the medicine cat, a deceased loved one, Death?), what is making Cat A sick, and how much time they actually have. Try to answer at least a few of the following questions: Does Cat A tell their loved ones that they're dying? Does Cat A try to live longer? Do they die earlier or later than they were told? Are they scared of death? Where do they go after they die?
Emotion is especially important for making this challenge work. However, be careful with the pacing because this is a story that tells itself slowly, but don't draw it out either. With all that in mind, have fun writing!
