"Hm? Yeah." Kiyune responded blankly, setting her sights on a couple delicious-looking crabcakes. It didn't really bother her if they butchered eachother or not, since deep down she was a killer whale, but it wasn't like she was gonna straight out murder someone. Handing a small pouch of gold to Kurai, she walked over to the stand selling the cakes and ordered two of them. She used some of the gold from her pouch--she had split the money earlier--and gave it to the stand-person. She then took the crabcakes in a little bag and walked back over to him, licking her lips hungrily.
"Cannibal," Kurai accused, pointing at her, smiling deviously. "At least you're not here for cooked witch meat or anything," he joked, juggling the pouch with his hands. "Hope I didn't jinx that, that was horrible. Anyway, all this gold is enough for ten servings of takoyaki," he said, his eyes glowing.

"I don't think they cook witches. Too valuable." Kiyune said simply, pulling out a crabcake and taking a bite. She then snarfed down that one, as well as the other, being the whale that she was. Licking her lips, she looked around. "I wonder if they have dessert." She pondered out loud, going over to stand by Kurai. In comparison, she was a bit shorter than him, although his hat made him look even taller. Speaking of his hat.. Grinning, Kiyune reached up and lifted it off of his head, pulling it down over her fin. She giggled, deciding that she would steal his hat for the time being.
"Oi, that's mine, you," he said, pouting. "Fine, whatever, you can take it," he re-decided, pulling the hat down and covering her eyes, smirking. "Anyway, I think there's a bakery around here that sells, well, regular cake. They have monstrous toppings and fillings, though, although you can choose to not add that in. I'm pretty sure I don't want to try jellyfish jelly."

Kiyune smiled as the hat was pushed down, and she pulled it back up as he spoke. "Oh, really?" She said, curiousity piqued. "Let's go then!" She waited for him to order his food, then, using her wonderfully keen sense of smell, she dragged him to the nearest bakery, where they did indeed have regular cake with all sorts of fillings and toppings. She took a deep breath, letting the warm smell of the bakery fill her nose. "So, what do you want?" She asked, going through all the different choices.
"A plain, perfectly fine, nice, normal cake. As I said, the toppings are bizarre. They have stuff like shrimp, and uh. Algae. This stuff on cake is a no-no!" he said, pointing to a particularly large cake shaped in a star sprinkled with small greenish brown flaky substance.

Kiyune looked around at the different options. "Maybe we could get a cake that's half normal and half covered in shrimp or krill or something." She kicked her lips. After all, krill was her favorite snack. "Oh, look! Different colored icing!" She pointed at it. "We could get dark blue for your half and white for mine." She said matter-of-factly, smiling.
"Ooh, good idea," he said. He gave the uncanny-looking marlin clerk their order and watched as the fish swam towards the backdoor. "Let's pick it up later. Cake takes a while to bake and ice. I think we still have thirteen minutes left or something, he said, popping a takoyaki in his mouth. "I want to teleport to the castle anyway, haha. The road is longer than the current," he frowned, scratching his head.

Kiyune sighed softly, nodding. "Yeah. I could probably run there, anyway." She started to walk out of the bakery, looking around. "Not much changed in a year, huh?" She commented, adjusting Kurai's hat, which was still on her head. She was a little worried about what the kingdom had to say, but she didn't let her worry show, as usual. The only person she ever really opened up to was Kurai, and even that was very rare.
"Hmm, I guess," he replied, following her out. "Are you sure you don't want to come with me? I'm not just a one person ride, you know that," he said, whilst watching his familiar adjust the hat.

Kiyune looked back at him, slightly relieved. She didn't really want to run all the way to the castle by herself. "Yeah, sure." She smiled at him quickly, then looked around. "Hey, remember that swing set near the edge of town?" She wasn't sure if it was still there, but she was pretty sure there used to be a swing set for people to hang out. She had always loved sitting on the swings and singing.
"Swing set? We could go check now, the time allows for that," Kurai said, smiling. "But it's uh, kinda far," he added, his smile turning into a slight frown. "Oh well, at least I have this takoyaki to fuel me, so we're good," the witch said, stepping outside the bakery. He waved goodbye to he marlin who had taken their order, and it tried to do the same, but with tiny fins, it just flapped around awkwardly. "Who in their right mind decided to place a swing set randomly just on the edge of town?"

Kiyune nodded and smiled, running ahead in the direction of said swing set. Upon reaching it, she sighed in relief that it was still there and ran over to the left swing, sitting down and rocking back and forth. She let the wind rush on her face, then gasped as the hat flew off of her head and smack into Kurai's face. She laughed, holding onto the ropes on the swing. "Well, at least you have your hat back."
Kurai tried to reach for it in time, but it flew smack-dab into his face, leaving his fingers twitching. It fell back down to the ground, and he picked it up, dusting the bottom with his hands and he put it on, the star chain angled diagonally to his left side, the way it usually was. "Well, whoop-dee-doo, that was convenient, I was starting to miss it, haha," he said, walking over to the empty one next to Kiyune. He sat down and kicked his legs back and forth to propel the swing.

Kiyune only laughed, swinging out her legs to propel the swing forward. "Hey, you're pretty weird, you know that?" She commented, staring off into the distance. After a moment, she looked over at him and added, "I'm glad you chose me as your familiar." Smiling softly, she looked straight forward and continued rocking back and forth.
