"...That's true," Fallowkit admitted, watching his friend roll about with quiet amusement. "Oh, a few days, I think! I haven't heard anything about our ceremony from Mother, though," he said, padding slowly towards the edge of the clearing. The view was magnificent, but he felt too giddy at the moment to obsess too much over it, if that was even possible in the first place. The waterfall was louder outside and had a louder roar, but didn't hurt his ears or anything. It sounded a lot like pouring rain. He found the sound of water soothing to him for some reason, but decided not to mull over it. Thinking about how this might become a regular sight once he becomes an apprentice, his mood lifted.

Downkit pouted, still flopped over on the floor. "Ah, who do you want for mentor?" Scrambling to her paws, she dashed to his side, digging her claws into the dirt to slow herself down. Using her tail, she flicked in the direction of Hollowstar and Wolfgaze, who crouched fishing a long way below. "I call Hollowstar!" She frowned for a moment "Or do leaders even take an apprentice? If not, Ruinmoss- wait, do deputies take apprentices? They don't have one yet, right?" She rambled, panicked. "If not them, Stonedust... oh, or maybe Wolfgaze." She plopped down, a soft thud. A soft breeze blew past the excitable kits, ruffling her soft fur ever so slightly.
Hollowstar glanced back, confused. Seeing his relatively fluffy tail in the water, soaked clean through, his pelt burned with embarrassment. "Err... New... Method?" He meowed, not even quite convincing himself. He lifted his tail from the water, sopping wet, and rested it on a rock to the side. Seeing the plump trout that Wolfgaze pulled up, he set his eyes back on the water, with a grim expression. No fish swam by.
Ruinmoss snapped out of his memory and looked around, looking at everyone getting long. He smiled softly before turning and nosing through the tiny fresh-kill pile. He took and fish and headed over to the elders. "Greetings, Branchleg, Bateye." He mumbled through the fish. "Hungry? I brought you something." Ruinmoss added, dropping the fish. Blackclaw Lily~Myth

Flameshadow stood from sitting in the sun at the side of camp, and strolled across to the entrance to the camp. The long legged she-cat picked up the pace on her way out of the camp, into the forest. "I guess I'll hunt while I have nothing else to do," she meowed to herself once in the solitude of the forest.

Wolfgaze held the plump fish in her jaws and carefully leapt over to her companion, sitting down beside him and setting the fish down at her paws. Her eyes watched the water, not for fish, but for bubbles. As she saw a few of them get somewhat closer to the top of the water, she tapped his back with her tail to alert him of the hidden prey beneath the water's surface.
"Fish, crow, vole and thrush." Cherrypaw answered awhile thinking of the list of prey in the pile as she then saw the deputy bring a fish over to them for the elders.
Branchleg saw Ruinmoss pad over to them with a fish in his jaws, "Hello Ruinmoss," as the fish was placed on the ground before giving a nod. "Thanks."
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”
"Good I guess, same-old-same-old." Branchleg mewed in reply before taking a bite of the scaly fish which was rather tasty as he was never picky with prey- his mother joked that he was a bottomless pit and ate anything that was placed in front of him.
Cherrypaw smiled a little at her grandfather as she didn't inherit his appetite but she did inherit not being a picky eater.

Bateye gave a soft huff when Cherrypaw listed what prey that was in camp but before he could even offer his thanks another cat came over smelling strongly of fish. His nose twitched in distaste before perked up at the cat having been Ruinmoss, "Right along with Branchleg" He agreed shrugging.
Hollowstar nearly sprang up at the tap on his back. "E-eh? Oh.." His eyes slid to the bubbles. He slid out his claws, and, with a powerful strike, scooped a trout with a shiny red stripe from the water. It flopped for a moment, but soon lay still. He seemed almost childishly excited over the prey, carrying the fish in his jaws.

Wolfgaze laughed, seeing his overjoyed expression. "There you go! Now you can go brag about it to everyone else." She purred, then glanced upon the water. "A hunting party will be sent out later, so I doubt it's necessary to catch more than this." With that, she picked up her trout and leapt upon the rocks back to the shore. Standing on the beach, she looked over at him with a quizzical look as if to ask if he was coming.
Flameshadow padded along at a brisk pace, scenting the air every now and then. A little ways from camp, she caught the scent of a small vole. Dropping quickly into a hunter's crouch, she stalked forward slowly. Once close enough, she pounced on the little vole. It scurried away, slipping through her paws. "Mouse dung!" She snarled angrily. She spotted the vole behind a patch of nettles. "I've got you..." Flameshadow swiftly climbed the nearest tree, creeping on a branch over the nettles, until she was positioned just above the vole. The branch swayed from side to side, from her weight. Just as it began to dip down, she leapt from the branch straight onto the vole. "Old tricks..."
"What about you Ruinmoss?" Branchleg mewed politely as he looked up from eating some of the fish at the deputy since he respected the tom.

Fallowkit laughed as his friend had wondered all that completely out loud. She could be unexpected, but he could easily manage to tell exactly what she was thinking just by expressions alone in most situations. "Ah, but um, I don't think something like that really matters to me." He gave a sheepish smile before continuing, "As long as they're encouraging and don't lose focus easily, I wouldn't really care how difficult the training really is." Fallowkit turned away from the breeze, padding towards a somewhat more shadowed area further away from the edge. The brightness and warmth of the sun was what ushered him to find a cooler spot. The days were lengthening, gradually increasing in heat as well. He believed that New-leaf would be ending soon.
Downkit bounded after Fallowkit as he retreated to a darker corner. "Ah, but if you had to choose!" She pressed, "Come now, I know you well enough to know you probably have a preference." She slowed to a prompt stop and, kneading the ground for a moment, settled into the ground with a prominent huff. Her whiskers twitched as she watched the other kit ponder the development of new-leaf. She took the time to lick her paw, meticulously washing her ears. After her ears were cleaned and a snowy pale pink, she took a moment to glance over to the fresh-kill, looking as if she hadn't eaten for ages.
"O-Oh, Er, Alright." He meowed, muffled through the fish he held tightly in his jaws, as if terrified it would spring to life and leap away. He had gotten so caught up in fishing, that how the clan was faring escaped him, leaving him now to worry. With strong bounds, he hopped across the stones back onto the sun-dappled banks, padding after the she-cat at a brisk pace. Hopefully, nothing had gone wrong in his absence, though he did trust Ruinmoss.
