Decades have passed since the great Dragon Rider Hiccup tamed the Nightfury, Toothless. Both have gone on to Valhalla, but their legacy has lived on in the new generations. Since their time thousands dragons have been caught and trained, and more and more species of the reptiles are being discovered. It is a wondrous time on the island of Berk!
However...not all seems to be well, despite what others say. Vikings are turning on one another; simple competitions turn into full-on battles, dragons are being claimed and hoarded by those in power, worse and worse villains and criminals are surfacing. It's gotten to the point where only the rich and powerful are allowed to capture and tame dragons, claiming the rest of the people as their slaves. You heard right. The poor and struggling are kidnapped in the dead of night, dragged from their families to serve the powerful. It even happens to some of the 'middle class'; it doesn't matter your rank anymore. If you have the money and firepower to get what you want, sometimes even the chief cannot stop you.
So child, what are you? One of the strong, who wield their power over others? Or are you of the weak, not even allowed to own a dragon and forced to serve the powerful? Or perhaps one of the free, who forge their own path?

Greetings. If you didn't already realize, my name's Stray. I've been tossing around this idea for a while now. Basically, about a hundred years have gone by since Hiccup and Toothless passed away. Dragons are continuing to be caught and trained, as the introduction says, however now only the rich and powerful are really allowed to do so. The poor/weak are turned into slaves for them, and it is unspoken consent among the people that their owning a dragon will result in severe punishment.
Also explained above, Berk isn't in very good shape. The chief is losing control over the village, and with the increase in dragons more powerful criminals and 'villains' are surfacing and causing chaos. A few have even managed to destroy the village a couple times within the last five years.
And with the Dragon Riders corrupt, in disorder, and with no one being sure who is loyal and who isn't anymore, the future of Berk no longer seems sure.

This is strictly a PM roleplay. My reasons are that I want the characters to have a chance to more closely interact than they would in a public roleplay, with several characters running around.
My requirements for roleplayers are as stated
-Each post must be at least three paragraphs long. Now however long that means is up to you, however I would like to have at least three sentences per paragraph.
-Replies within five days. Hopefully you won't need all this time since break is starting.
-You will be required to play both a rider and a dragon (if you want your character to have one).
-For characters, you are allowed to use an anime picture as reference. It's preferred that you do, actually. However, my only rule with that is to only use pictures that are realistic. Aka no white hair or purple eyes or whatever else fantastical.
-I would also ask to name your characters realistically. Please no Japanese names or anything. At least make it sound Vikingish
-With each post, please put down your character's mood, location, and who they're with.
I will be accepting 2 masters, 2 slaves, and 1 free character and/or criminal.
Masters (2/2) (mango sago , ❀ Yasusada)
Slaves (2/2) (Menagerie , Lily~Myth )
Free character or criminal (1/1) (♚Meme Bird ♚)

He wanted to stay in bed; he wanted to stay in bed and sleep in for once. It rarely happened; only on those special occasions when he didn't need to train before the sun came up, or something along those lines. The bed was so comfortable, too; the blanket seemed to wrap him in its warm embrace; the mattress seemed to alter itself so he could achieve the most comfortable position possible. His bed was the farthest from the window, too; the sunlight stretching across the floor didn't quite reach him yet.
But...despite all this, he couldn't deny that he was awake; he had been so since the sun first rose. It was habit, unfortunately; his internal clock was set to wake him as soon as the songbirds started their morning calls. He groaned softly, shifting his position slightly in an attempt to gain convince himself to go back to sleep. Of course, it proved futile; he groaned again in displeasure, then let out a sigh, finally sitting up, propped up on his elbows. He glanced around the room through tangled bangs, yawning before sitting up fully and swinging his legs over the edge of the bed, rubbing his eyes.
At the moment, he was glad he didn't have a roommate; he liked having his own room and place to escape from everyone. Glancing towards the unmade, bare bed, he briefly wondered if he was going to receive someone else this year. It varied; last year he had been alone, but his first year there he had a roommate. If someone did decide to move in, he'd rather it be someone who didn't ask a ton of questions, honestly. It was difficult keeping his line of study a complete secret with his first roommate; he knew he didn't need to keep it to himself, but he preferred it that way. Contrary to what most people believed, he felt safer wrapped up in secrets than he did in truth. It was simply who he was.
He yawned again, heaving himself to his feet and stretching his arms high above his head, emitting a whine of sorts of pleasure as he felt his muscles tense up from their formerly relaxed position. What did he need to do today...classes didn't start on the first day; the school wanted the students to 'socialize' and 'make new friends' or whatever other nonsense. He was fine with having friends; with what he learned with Ame friends were nice. Though he wasn't as okay with putting himself in a crowd and asking strangers what they thought of the weather, or if they were free that night, or whatever other pleasantries. It just felt too awkward, not to mention he was horrible at it.
He sighed, walking quietly into the bathroom to take a morning shower. Cold, as usual. He stayed in just long enough to clean himself up and wake up before stepping out, rubbing himself dry and warming himself up in the process. The room was just as he had left it; not that he thought someone might sneak in when he was out. He opened his closet door, revealing a comfortable - though not excessive - amount of clothing. He contemplated which outfit he should choose for that day; his PDA said - among other things - that it wasn't too hot outside, nor too cold. So he chose something simple: a long sleeved plain black shirt and comfortable blue jeans, along with a pair of heelless boots and a red scarf around his neck.
He finished getting himself ready before heading out, careful to lock his door and leave the majority of his weapons hidden in his room. Of course, he brought a few bare essentials; he wouldn't just waltz into the campus naked (aka weapon-less). That would be stupid. So, he chose a small knife and a package of poison-tipped needles he hid on himself, completely invisible and unnoticeable to the eye. He nodded to himself, sliding his hands into his pockets as he walked down the hallway, quiet for the moment. He had a feeling the other students would be waking soon, if they hadn't already. Then all chaos would break loose. By getting out this early from his dorm, he hoped to avoid that.
On a scale of 1-10, how active are you?: Due to finals, probably a 3-4. Later on I should be much more active, though.
