I think to be completely honest if he truly loved her he would want her to be happy with another cat and would not go mental trying to kill her family. Yeah, I don't think that's actual love....

ashfur is just a fedora wearing dudebro that feels entitled to squirrelflight, nothin' new
OT: Mapleshade she is driven by hate and destroys all that get in her way. relatable i don't have a lot of non-villain cats that i would consider a fave. Yellowfang is pretty up there.

To be honest, most of the Warrior's characters aren't very likeable (at least to me). Most of the time their characters are too shallow (as in their backstories and personality feel cliche and generic). I used to really like Ashfur (especially when he went maniacal and tried to kill Squirrelflight's family) but when I found out the Erin Hunters let him in Starclan calling him "misunderstood" and whatever, I stopped liking him as much. Aside from him, I guess it has to be Thrushpelt. That cat is literally one of the biggest GGG in the whole series. He kinda makes Bluestar seem like a jerk. Maybe it's pity, or maybe it's the lack of someone like that in my life. I dunno, but he seems like just the sweetest and kindest cat ever. Also, perhaps maybe Nightcloud. Yeah, I know she's a complete douche in some parts, but if I ever went through what she did I guess I would probably feel the same. That's probably why I feel pity for her, cause she reminds me a lot actually of myself (short-tempered, possessive, lonely ;-;)

honestly same here most of the characters aren't particularly well or uniquely written my reason for liking Mapleshade literally just boils down to "shes the only major female villain" because i just have to grasp at straws (you could argue Rainflower would also count as a major villain though) i actually really like Nightcloud and she gets blamed for things that are mostly Crowfeather's fault
i don't like a lot of actual major protagonists. Tawnypelt and Graystripe are the only ones I can think of, assuming you don't count Yellowfang I like Crookedstar as well tho. and Ivypool (thats her name right) cuz relatable

I was always intrigued by Mapleshade, and I've always wanted to know her backstory. She's the one female villian, so her backstory should be pretty cool. Another cat who kinda goes up to my favourites is Breezepelt, I just feel so sorry for him as well especially in the last book when Crowfeather told him to leave in the last book. I just wanna give that guy a hug.
another favourite is berrynose because come on 'berrystumpytail' that guy is hilarious

I've never liked any of the villains. They're all pretty sadistic and evil (as villains are) and it's just kinda impossible for me to warm up to them. Bloodthirsty, angry, revenge-seeking.... I did kind of find mapleshade slightly interesting because of her story, but I just wanted a better end for her solely from learning of it... why do all the character's lives have to be so sad? xP I don't know, that's just me. I think some people are into villains because they feel like if they insert themselves as a character into that villain's life, they feel like they can be the redeemer, and turn the cat good again. Some people just find them interesting. I dunno. I like the characters with the purest hearts and the most loyal, noble, kind, heroic, and leader-like personalities. I also like the redeemed characters. That's just me though.

My favorite character would probably be Cloudtail ^^ He's blunt, he's stubborn, and although he doesn't care for appearances, he does care for his family & Clan very much. In the first books, he's willing to try different things to find his place in the Clan, and as the books go along he goes from an arrogant, blowhard apprentice to a mature, loyal warrior. He's one of the cats with the most character development, and was also one of the few characters that I loved from beginning to end.
