Snowpaw smiled, a kind smile that she hoped would assure Daisyheart that she felt the same. Turning to her mentor, she nodded, eyes set stony. "Alright. Yeah! Lets do this! Wish me luck, Daisyheart!" She called out behind her, pushing to her feet to head for the camp den. 🌹Jayjaycats🌹★Echobrook the Reindeer★
Echokit mewled, reaching forward and pushing at the strange warmth beside her to steal his feeding place, wedging her body in the space between her mother and brother determinedly. @aetherwyvern66

Redfeather led his apprentice out of camp before turning to her. "Ok go and find a place to hunt and start. I will be watching you." The tom blinked fondly at his apprentice. She was so young and skilled, it would be easy for her to pass. C H I Y O

Maplekit let a low meow back, it was obviously an accident but she assumed they didn't care. She dozed back off to sleep, dreaming about being a warrior and hunting it great forests. She darted at a vole, swiftly snatching it by the waterside. She hadn't realised she was kicking quite a lot, and was barely missing Eclipsekit.

Jadeflower gasped in delight as her kit Doekit opened her eyes. "Doekits eyes are open! They are so gorgeous." The White shecat purred as she wrapped herself around the kits. Gently she let her rasping tongue clean her oldest kit Doekit. ★Echobrook the Reindeer★
Eclipsekit heard his mothers soothing voice. Keeping his eyes shut tightly he leaned forwards to his mothers belly and started suckling.

Snowpaw nodded, flashing her mentor a smile before slipping through some brush to begin her test. Her hunt. Closing her eyes, Snowpaw channeled her everything into the moment. Into a singular space of calm- she listened to the sounds of birds, the whistle of the wind through her ears and the sensation of her rippling fur. The barren land and beads of grass beneath her paws. All of this was life, life she and everyone in the clan was universally connected to in an extraordinary way. Just as connected as the creature rustling in that gras- Snowpaw's eyes flew open with a start. Her neck all but cracked to the side , following that majestic symphony of victory. Drawing to her haunches, keeping her tail low with moons of practiced ease, Snowpaw drew closer and closer to that sound. It was a bird, pecking at something on the ground. Its meal, no doubt. Licking her chops, Snowpaw drew closer. And closer. She paused at what felt the right distance with bated breathe, the bird paused its pecking to jerk its head up, looking as if it was peering about the corners of it eyes. Now. Realizing that now was her time, Snowpaw thrust forward, keeping her body low as she dove for the lovely white creature, feathers as delicate as her own pelt. Snowpaw thought of the first prey she'd caught. Of the times her mother, deep in the woes of her sickness had smiled at her with that tender smile. Her father with his puffed chest and stoney eyes, set in such determination and pride at her apprentice ceremony. She thought of all the cats she needed to impress- cats who'd helped her along the way, taught her the importance to stand on her own two feet. Warblestar, Redfeather. The cats who wanted her to succeed. Daisyheart the kind warrior, Ashwhisker and his patient understanding. The apprentices who offered her support. Lionpaw, Gingerpaw, and Flamepaw. Snowpaw thought of all that and more in this instance. The cats she had hurt and the cats she would hurt in the future. It was like her life flashing before her eyes, and Snowpaw supposed in a way that was exactly what it was. Her claws made contact with the white dove, digging into their thin body and jerking them to the ground as they squawked in suprise. No time to waste, she thought, burying teeth into it's throat and latching on to the writhing mass of white feathers so much like her lovely white pelt, now stained with blood. She held fast, until at last thoat once lovely white down moved no more, and all that was left were the sounds of the forest to swallow them up. Standing over that bird, Snowpaw made sure to bow her head in thanks, holding back the tears. "May Starclan guide you." She whispered, a soft lullaby that might guide those beautiful white wings as they flew off into a far away place, one Snowpaw could not hope to reach. 🌹Jayjaycats🌹

Redfeather
He watched silently from a clump of bushes near Snowpaw. The apprentice had killed the dove cleanly, barely any blood on its white feathers. A clean kill. He nodded to himself as he listened to Snowpaw guide it's soul to Starclan. 'Good work Snowpaw, you've almost passed your test, just another kill or so....' He thought to himself. Silently, Redfeather creeped forwards and hid behind a bunch of ferns that was closer to Snowpaw. The tom made sure not to step on any twigs or dry leafs incase he disturbed a creature. Closing his eyes for a second he remembered his own apprentice hunt to become a warrior....
Redpaw stepped silently into the forest. In his heart he felt it was time. Crouching, he stalked a mouse, scrawny from the harshness of leaf bare. The prey was crucial. The clan had been going hungry, some warriors not eating so the queens could be fed. Focusing all he could, he pounced and killed the mouse swiftly. "Thank you starclan," he whispered to not alarm any other prey. That night Redpaw and Jadepaw became warriors together because the clan had needed Jadepaw to be a full warrior early. Jade paw had struggled in the assessment, catching only a mouse while Redpaw had caught a mouse, thrush and pigeon. Humiliated, Jadepaw had announced she wanted to be a full time queen unless she was needed for emergencies.

Firepaw Firepaw purred as his mentor caught up with them. "You're a lot more lively today, Appledust." He mewed in amusement. He supposed it was because Snowpaw was going to be a warrior soon. He turned to Quietstream. "I'll go first! Who else?" He asked, giving Lionpaw and Gingerpaw a mischievous grin. "Lemme warn you two, Appledust has trained me very well!"
Ashwhisker Since Warblerstar didn't seem to be around, he decided to go out hunting. "Daisyheart! Up for a little hunting?" He called to the young warrior.
Silverjaw A strange scent wafted into the nursery, smelling of rot and death. A voice quietly whispered into Eclipsekit's ear. "Hello, little one. You seem very strong for one so small. I look forward to speaking with you soon..." The voice gave a pleasant chuckle before the scent dissipated. ★Echobrook the Reindeer★😺QuietStar😺🌹Jayjaycats🌹

Snowpaw dug a hole, slotting her prey in before burying it from predators. Standing to her full height, she set off for the next prey. Her gaze flew to the river she'd been at with her mentor yesterday. Wiggling her rump, she took off in a dash, pausing only to swat at a rather pretty butterfly before resuming her mission. The burst of euphoria, if that little voice that assured her in confidence that she could do this echoed in her chest. Standing once more in the river, Snowpaw peered into the water's lapping waves. Listening and staring intently for the slightest movement. She licked her chops, trying her best to subdue her wiggling just long enough for that moment. She was sure if she caught a fish she would be praised. A fish would be the perfect thing to bring to camp, chest puffed proud. So Snowpaw stood and she watched. It seemed like an eternity, and indeed it was a few minutes before she caught a flash of silvery movement. Fish. Snowpaw drew deadly still, eyes tracking it as it swam closer and closer. Snowpaw inched deeper out into the water, that now pulled about at her legs, long fur weighing her down. She paid it no mind, totally entranced with the fish. Her fish. A flash of movement- a flicker of its tail from the water and Snowpaw was launching forward much the same as she had the dove. Her paws made contact with its textured, slimy body and her teeth clamp down. The fish struggled, much as the last one that had escaped her had, but Snowpaw held tight this time, ignoring the sting of its thrashes. A feeling of victory, of the accomplishment of a hunt well done began to creep upon her, only to be washed away with a wave of horror. Her long furred body, small and lithe as it was under all that fur, was practically an anchor. She hadn't realised when jumping at her prey that it had been quite so deep, and perhaps if she had not been panicking so much she would realise that it went only to her chin, but Snowpaw did not think in the panic that consumed her. She thrashed, fish still locked determinedly in her jaw, clamping down as hard as she could and trying to close her mouth around it when her head went under. Her paws beat against the sandy floor, head surfacing for a second before dumping back down. 🌹Jayjaycats🌹
Echokit nuzzled her mothers stomach, now having shifted from her brother to choose a spot. She suckled away contently, a strange light behind her eyelids. She tried to shove her eyelids tighter close, letting out a low whine. She huffed, paws kneading her mother as blue eyes slithered open just a crack, only to close a second later. The process repeated, eyes opening a little wider and then closing until at last dimly blue eyes opened fully to take in the fur of her mothers belly. @aetherwyvern66

Lionpaw heard a noise so he went to investigate. He saw a cat being pulled under the water. Was that someone drowning?! He bolted, forgetting about his fight. "Snowpaw!" He leaped into the water and tried to find her scruff or someway to pull her out. "Snowpaw!" C H I Y O

Firepaw Confused at first, but after hearing Lionpaw calling Snowpaw's name, Firepaw felt his fur stand on end. He rushed after the larger tom, tail streaming behind him. "Lionpaw! What happened? Where's Snowpaw?" He stood in the tree line, watching Lionpaw rescuing Snowpaw, fear making his pelt spike.

Lionpaw took a deep breath, his own fur being pulled down as well, and dipped his head under the water, finding her scruff. He pulled on it, trying to resurface her. He lifted his head above the water and tried to gently bring her back to shore. "Are you okay?" He asked in a panicky tone.
Quietstream ran after them and watched, eyes wide with fear.

Snowpaw thrashed, feeling the water tension break as something dove in. Her lungs filled with water, and her feet kicked out in blind fear at the intruder. Voices boomed out above her, but the sound too distant, too absorbed by the waters waves to be understandable. Suddenly, something clamped about her scruff, and with a firm tug the she-cat found herself being yanked through the water, head breaking the water. She could all but feel the bile in her throat, but she resisted the deep urge to cough as she was dragged toward the shore, desperate to keep ahold of her fish. The moment her paws made contact with the shore she released her chill, finally coughing haggardly as she took deep breathe after deep breathe of that delicious air. After a moment she weakly raised her head, registering her savior as Lionpaw, vaguely taking in his worried face. "I- uh, sorry." She meowed, voice feeble and shaky. "What'd you say? I'm, uh, afraid I didn't hear you. But thanks- for the save." She muttered, head collapsing back onto the shore with a another deep breathe, trying to slow her racing heart. 😺QuietStar😺

Firepaw Firepaw carefully slithered down the slope to where Snowpaw and Lionpaw rested on the shore. "Is she okay, Lionpaw?" He asked his denmate, his voice heavy with concern. "Should we get Duskfern?"

"It would be a good idea to get her checked out." Quietstream replied. "She looks a little surprised." She turned to Snowpaw. "Do you need Duskfern?" She asked, closer to her so she would hear.
