((Erm, Sorrelkit, I'm a little confused because I don't know who Sorrelclaw is, yet you refer to her twice. ovo But I'm going to assume it's Dappleclaw. Please correct me if I'm wrong. :}))
Graystar looked around the camp and nodded his head to Dappleclaw. Today was the day, he decided, I have to decide today. He had remotely whittled down the cats he wanted to choose to three cats; Thunderfang, Nettlefang and Willowfrost. They were all good choices, but Graystar wasn't sure who was the best choice. He sighed and rasped his tongue over his mouth. He was hungry, but he didn't want to eat until he was positive that the elders and the queens and kits were fed, so he would just wait. He wondered if he should consult Snowleaf about the deputy situation, and with a little more thought, he trotted over to the white medicine cat. "Greetings, Snowleaf. I was wondering if I could have a word with you?" Graystar inquired to Snowleaf. (✞~Spottedleaf ~✞)

Snowleaf was finishing her last bite of mouse when Graystar padded over. She swallowed and licked her lips before replying, "Of course, Graystar." She dipped her head in response to her leader and stood to her paws. "I'm assuming we are going to your den?" she asked once she was standing up right. Although the medicine cat wasn't positive about what the conversation was going to be about, she had a pretty positive feeling about what it might be. However, she didn't ask about it just yet. Instead, she waited for Graystar to respond to her with what he was going to say. (beech)

"Yes, we can speak in my den," he meowed and flicked his tail. He led the way into his den and sat down on his nest. He licked his paw and drew it over his head to make sure his fur wasn't too unkempt and he waited for Snowleaf to walk into his den. "Cloverpaw won't be expecting you, will he?" he asked after a moment, wanting to make sure he wasn't keeping her from anything that she needed to do. He, after all, knew that having an apprentice was a full-time job, but at least Cloverpaw didn't seem like a feisty cat, unlike Graystar's first apprentice. (✞~Spottedleaf ~✞)
Nettlefang woke up kind of late because he had had a hard time going to sleep the night before. However, he didn't realize how late it actually was until he actually yawned and stood up. Oops, I hope I didn't miss anything important. He thought to himself. Then he thought I'd better get out of this den and check what's going on with the clan. So with that, he padded out of the den and into the clearing of the PineClan camp. He glanced at his clanmates that have already stirred before him. He hid a cough behind his breath before saying to anyone that might be concerned or care that he had slept so late, "Sorry for sleeping so late."

Snowleaf shook her head as she followed Graystar into his den and sat down. "Last time I checked he was still asleep," she answered, "I decided to let him sleep for a little longer today. Last night was kind of a long night. Anyways," she continued, changing the subject, "what is on your mind?" she asked. The medicine cat looked at Graystar and waited for him to explain to her what he had called her in there for. (beech)

"Well, I just-" he cut himself off, taking a moment to steady his thoughts and think about what he wanted to say. "I feel so confused without Tigerstar here to tell me what to do," he said, and shifted his paws from embarrassment, "Like I'm going to make the wrong decision, and let the Clan down. I just wanted to know, has StarClan said anything about who would be a good deputy? Or do you have any ideas?" he asked, hope in his voice. He just wanted someone to reassure him that he would make the right decision, or at least set him in the right direction. (✞~Spottedleaf ~✞)
She continued on with her hunting, scenting the air and soon smelling another mouse. Maybe its the same one... Probably not. She quickly caught it and nipped its neck to kill it, and decided she should start making her way back now. She carried the little mouse in her jaws, and soon came to where she hid the squirrel. She quickly dug it out, and then evened the land back up, and started to make her way back to camp with the squirrel and the mouse in her jaws. She resisted the temptation to eat them, knowing that more needy mouths could have them. She soon arrived in camp, and noticed more cats were awake now. She dropped the mouse and squirrel in the little freshkill pile, and suddenly really wished she would of caught that mouse earlier to add to the sad looking pile. Oh well.. Can't exactly go back to it, its probably long gone anyway. She thought, and then padded over to the side of the Warriors den, and once she was a couple tail-lengths away from the entrance so if any cat wanted to come out they could she sat down and started to groom her rather messy fluffy silver fur. She was curious about the patrols, but she decided against going and bothering Graystar when he was speaking with Snowleaf.

(Whoops, didn't proofread my post enough. I fixed it.)
Cloverpaw emerged from the den just as he saw Snowleaf disappear into the leader's den with Graystar. Guess they have to discuss something. He walked over to the fresh-kill pile where there was a fresh squirrel and mouse, along with a cold sparrow from yesterday. He hesitated - it wasn't a lot of prey, and there were plenty of other cats who needed to eat. Maybe he should wait until sunhigh, when there would be more food. He decided to wait for his mentor to finish talking before he ate anything, and crouched down to rest, still blinking his hazel eyes sleepily. Martinpelt spotted Willowfrost heading into camp with fresh-kill clamped in her jaws, and decided to go greet her when she walked over to the warrior's den. She admired the silver tabby, despite the fact that she was only a few moons older than her and they hardly spoke. Casually walking over, she smiled at Willowfrost and meowed, "Good morning. How was hunting?" She swished her white-tipped tail across the grassy floor of the cave absently.
Snowleaf nodded as she listened to Graystar speak. She understood how he felt when it came to making decisions, for she was the same way for a while after her mentor had died. She was much more cautious than normal because she was less confident and more afraid of doing something wrong. However, she had managed to get past that, and she was now as confident in her work as ever. This was, of course, a good thing, since she had her own apprentice. She would have felt like a terrible mentor if she was any less confident in what she did. With this knowledge in her mind, Snowleaf was able to connect with Graystar's feelings. However, despite that, she had not received any omens from StarClan about who would be the right cat for the deputy position. "I know how it is to be in your paws, as far as being the one to make all the decisions and worrying about which is the right one," the white she-cat spoke at last,"I experienced that for quite a while after the former medicine cat passed on. However, I have not received anything from StarClan about who the deputy should be," she went forward. The young cat paused for a moment to allow Graystar to take in what she had just said. However, she made sure to make it clear that she was not through with talking about this.

Graystar nodded and sighed. "I figured as much. Our warrior ancestors can only offer so much aid," he meowed, "I just didn't think I'd have to make this decision so soon. Tigerstar's death was so sudden, I wish he has trained me for something like this." He shook out his pelt as it felt damp again. He could tell that it would rain soon. "Thank you for the help, Snowleaf. I think I've made my decision," he meowed. (✞~Spottedleaf ~✞)

Snowleaf dipped her head to Graystar. "Choose wisely, Graystar," she encouraged. "There are many brave warriors in our Clan who have lots of experience, but also remember to not look down upon younger cats as well. They may not have as much experience as others might, but they still have the potential to become strong leaders in the future. Sometimes younger minds think differently than we do, in good ways, I mean," she added before she stood to her paws. (beech)

Graystar nodded. "Go talk to your apprentice," he meowed, noticing that Cloverpaw was sitting aimlessly by the fresh-kill pile. "I'll announce my decision to the Clan later tonight. Thank you for your help," he meowed honestly, and smiled softly at her. He tucked his paws under his chest and laid down, his long tail curled tightly over his front paws. He looked over the stone walls, and began to make sure that the cat he had in mind was certainly the one that he would choose.

Snowleaf purred before she stepped out of the den. She looked around for Cloverpaw and saw him near the fresh-kill pile. The she-cat walked over to him. "Hey there, Cloverpaw," she meowed in a warm greeting. (☼ Sorrelleaf ☼)
