I'm on my 3rd apprentice right now. Not currently playing the game since it is 0136 (1:36 am) currently and I wanted to share this before going to bed.
My first apprentice, Leafpaw, had full bars for hunting and fighting but died the last second of the battle against shadowclan.
My second apprentice, Softpaw, had full hunting, but on half to 2/3 fighting and died against a group of riverclaan cats with a buch or skills added on to them.
My current apprentice, Wingpaw, has about half fighting and full hunting, but I don't like the tactic im using to raise the hunting skill. I am only accepting windclan battles since generally they are the weakest opponents. I also will continuously switch to a different section, usually the one right next to the battleground, until its either an even fight or to my advantage. Ive also resorted to just doing half a fight and slowly building it up that way.
I haven't played any of the recent versions, I mean, I remember when you were only allowed to hold 3 of one item and couldn't have mates. Has something changed? I had slightly newer versions where I had apprentices, but I don't remember them ever leaving me when fully skilled. Is that a thing now (cus if it isn't maybe it should be...) & are there better ways to train my apprentice without every single one dying on me?
Thanks in advance for any help, tips, and advice!

Hi. I haven't played any of the old games, just I think... Um... The 15th or something. Anyway, I suggest that if your apprentice is fighting, that you also try to fight the opponent that your apprentice is fighting. If a cat is about to attack your apprentice, attack them. If you are afraid that your apprentice is close to dying or is getting ganged up on, move to a different square and they will automatically be there with you. It'll probably take them a while to heal, too. 'U' if this is a persisting problem, perhaps you should consider updating the game.
Also, you can still only carry three of the same thing in one storage space, but you can carry nine things in total, because there are three storage square thingies.

I had slightly older versions in the past such as when mates started being a thing and kits. I also remember when being able to hold 9 things started. As of now my apprentice is a warrior and so far he is still alive. I've added herblore (I think that's what it's called) but I really forgot how to train an apprentice long enough for it to live, so even know I'm worried my apprentice will die on me despite helping him in battles and such. I'm not sure how long the "life bar" for the apprentice is, does my own correlate to it?

Wingcloud has now died he was my favorite so far and fairly strong in battle. I now have a new apprentice, Silentpaw (male) and I am trying to help more with fighting alongside him and using herblore every time it cools down. I wish there was a health bar of your apprentice that you could view. That would be really helpful.

Whelp, there goes Silentpaw :/ Shadowclan is always tough to beat just because the cats tend to have a bunch of skills attached to them. Have a new apprentice, Thornpaw, and hopefully she'll last as long as Wingcloud did or even longer *sigh*

Maybe it is just bad luck? I have had 3 apprentices and all became Warriors before they died.

I would recomend saving before Battle Training. ive started doing that now. Thornpaw is now Thornstripe which makes me happy. Out of all of my 5 apprentices so far, Wingcloud and Thornpaw have lasted the longest and they were/are both calicos. I wonder if that's just coincidence at this point...

Calicos for the win! It's one of my favorite pelts in the game.

Calicos for the win! It's one of my favorite pelts in the game. i love calicos too. they look really cute in the game and in real life. I have a tabbico which is basically a calico but some of her spots actually have the tabby pattern instead of one of the tri colors.
Side note: most calico cats are female because coat color is genetically controlled by the X chromosome which is received by the mother. when the calico is male, he will have an extra X chromosome and become XXY. Because of the extra chromosome, most male calicos cannot reproduce, but 1 out of every 1,000 or the male calicos will not be sterile. But male calicos are very rare since only 1 out of every 3,000 calicos are male. just and interesting fact I knew about calicos

I knew that, it's very cool. And a tabbico sounds beautiful.

Also we've gone from Dying Apprentices to Tabbicos.

Also we've gone from Dying Apprentices to Tabbicos. to the previous comment, yes she is beautiful, she gets it a lot
and to get back to dying apprentices, ive started a new thing where I use my herblore even after winning the battle until it stops showing the green plus, do you think that has helped any? I think I started doing that towards the end of having Wingcloud, but im not sure.
