Oh, man, I just finished the Legends Come to Life quest chain and I adored it, Badgerpaw(/Badgerberry, in my playthrough) was already my favorite apprentice, so I was doomed from the moment it starred her and a lot of character development for her. The second quest in the chain was very good, and I'd imagine it's what would get most of the the limelight, but I also adored making a story for the kits.
Secondly, I really, really enjoyed the worldbuilding through the elder's stories about how the legends have shifted over time. (Also, I believe I caught the hint of different ranks in ShadowClan?) I love seeing worldbuilding like that, it made the world of the game feel so much more interesting.
Third, I named my character Robinpaw(/Robinstorm) not knowing it had been the name of another cat before her, and getting new dialogue from Mosstail for the name was a nice touch, it really shows how much detail went into the game and the player's decisions.
I'm pretty satisfied with the ending I got - I sided heavily with preventing the war. ThunderClan technically went to war, but I only ended up fighting a single patrol and ShadowClan surrendered. Robinpaw befriended all four of the apprentices and Blackheart (she thinks), and her personality traits were chaste, energetic, forgiving, generous, honest, honorable, kind, modest, wise, satisfied, naive and brave.
(And then Hummingbird flipped off the screen for a solid minute when Voideyes' portrait popped up, but he didn't try to convince me to become a cannibal or speak with dead kittens this time, so I've made my peace with him being there. For now.)
I would definitely appreciate the ability to have same-gender mates in the next update, but I understand otherwise.
I'm going to do another playthrough and try to prevent the war entirely and unlock Duskheart's heroic skills before the next update comes out! I had (and am still having) a lot of fun with this game, thank you so much for the work you put into it. ^^

It's one of my favorite quests, featuring a lot of character development and a new Heroic Skill for Badgerpaw. It does prevent you from becoming the Medicine Cat Apprentice, though. I'd recommend doing it for yourself first, but if you're curious, just ask and I can put the plot of the quests under a spoiler. Here's how to trigger it, as far as I understand:
- You might need to complete the quest where you tell the kits the story of Firestar first, which you can get from one of the elders. You might also need to ask Blackheart to take Badgerpaw as his apprentice. (He won't accept, and that's fine, he never will.) I'm not certain if you need to do these quests, but I did them in my playthrough, and they seemed relevant to the questline.
- To get Legends Come to Life, you need to complete the quest A New Legend Begins. I believe you need both Eaglekit and Nightkit alive, and to have a good relationship with Badgerpaw. In this quest, Badgerpaw asks for your help to make up a story for the kits, because she isn't very creative. I think the kits have to like the story you make up for the quest to be a success, but I also haven't tested this. Tip: The kits will basically automatically like the story if you name the hero after them (Eaglenight or Nighteagle).
- I don't remember when exactly I got A New Legend Begins, but it was definitely before the two kits were apprenticed.
- Just before the Gathering, if A New Legend Beings is completed, Badgerpaw will approach you and admit that Eaglekit and Nightkit have gone missing, and she's worried about them. Go to the abandoned twolegplace and follow the scent trail to a new map.
- Do not run from the battle that triggers when you go to this new map with Badgerpaw, Kestrelpaw, Duskpaw and Nettlepaw/claw.

That's awesome to hear, thank you, Leonard! I really appreciate that, as a lesbian. Don't intend to rush you, of course, I'm really looking forward to what comes next. ^^

Well, I got the game a few moons ago, and I really enjoyed it. I would really like one of my cats to become Blackheart's apprentice, but it's so hard. What do I have to do?
Well, I got the game a few moons ago, and I really enjoyed it. I would really like one of my cats to become Blackheart's apprentice, but it's so hard. What do I have to do?
If you want to become Blackheart's apprentice, you need to train with him every day. You also need to have a non-violent personality applied to your cat, which means that you probably shouldn't do the Hawk quests with Thrushfeather and/or rush into battle at every chance you get.
If you do it all correctly, he'll say that you spend so much time in his den that others would think that you're his apprentice. You'll get a few options, one of them being "I want to become your apprentice" or something like that. Choose that option, and if you did everything correctly, he'll consider it.
When you're going on the quest to the Moonpool with him, he'll ask the other cats with you to leave him and you in privacy, I think. He'll look into the moonpool and say that StarClan had no objections.
Afterwards, if everything goes right, he'll make you take a medicine cat quiz to consider if you're fit for the spot. Note, this quiz is REALLY hard, and it took me many tries to pass it. But, there's a guide to it here: warriorsrti.proboards.com/thread/135/blackhearts-test?page=1&scrollTo=590
If you completed it early enough in the game, I think you'll get your position switched. I completed the quest too far into the game, so I became a warrior instead.

No, I think you got it right. The Elders must like you... and some other stuff like that. Badgerpaw needs to.. the kits need to.. both kits need to be alive, I think..
JUST BECAUSE MY PATH IS DIFFERENT DOESN'T MEAN I'M LOST
Profile pic my Ginger! Kudos to them.
Formerly known as "sheepspots", but I doubt anybody remembers.
If You got the game few months ago, I'd recommend updating. There's some new content and many bugs fixed. Also, Medicine Cat stuff was really awkward before the version 1.02 (The current version is 1.04e).
In the 1.02 and further versions, the necessary steps to becoming a medicine cat are these:
1. Get Blackheart to accept You as a possible candidate. You can do that as part of asking Blackheart to train You (third and fourth training) or as a part of Badgerpaw's quest. If You want to become a medicine cat You need to show the dedication and start training as soon as possible (preferably from the first day). If You don't meet all the requirements, he will say in what aspect You are lacking (You need to train with him at least three times, have him like You, and Your personality not be considered cruel). You need to complete this step before going to Moonpool.
2. Get accepted by StarClan at Moonpool.
3. Pass the test of herb knowledge.
4. Get Clan's agreement to transfer Your position (Blackheart will tell You what is stopping You from achieving this step).
Asking him to let You become his apprentice doesn't make him like You any less, though if You want to become a medicine cat You should make an effort to talk with him often and train everyday (it's not always possible, but it's good to try). What You answer him is important to getting him to like You. (You may want to save before talking to him and before attempting herb test). Oh, and don't eat any cats.

The day after the fight with the fox, I walked onto my nest after talking with everyone else in the den. It allowed me to rest, so I did. Then, it repeated the text of 'I'd better go see what Thrushfeather has planned for me today'!
