Kleel followed Cypress in, sharing her distrust in the dog. Once inside, he looked around. The ground felt strange and mildly slippery, doors lined the walls, some with panels of the 'glass' on or next to them. Behind them was one of those doors, or was it two? Through them he could see blue shimmering water, the stench that came from behind the doors made him sneeze. Why would longpaws keep bad water? At the very least, any longpaw scent was stale and covered by the scent of the stranger.
Dragon-American Alsatain-(Group)
Once they were all in, Dragon stepped back into the building and let the door close. He turned and examined the dogs before him, they all seemed tired and rather thin. "Hungry?" he asked as he led the way down the hall to the main area. The hallway led straight to the broken glass doors and to the right was a large desk that humans usually sat at to greet the residents and help out with things. Beyond that was another hallway with apartments and to the left of them were a bunch of dead plants, some armchairs, and another hallway full of doors. He wasn't sure he trusted them enough to take them upstairs, especially as a group. Turning left, he trotted down the middle of the hallway and glanced at each of the doors. Two of the ones that faced the street were broken, one of the apartments on the left had been raided by coyotes. He stopped at the second door on the left and nosed it open, looking back at the group of dogs afterwards.
(Hrafn never helped, 'k?) Hrafn was heading back to the forest camp. Lupin had to carry Vixen parts of the way. When they got there, the deer carcass was still, suprisingly, uneaten and not rotting. Flicker dropped on her paws and slept. Vixen was already asleep. She and Lupin were too restless, so they did the few things that they did when they belonged to the abusive longpaw. They talked about old times, eventually howling at the moon. Lupin had a more wild tone, but Hrafn had an authoritive tone. She nuzzled Lupin and slept next to him. The pile was way, way too warm.
Peppermint looked around the house with a soft whine as once again her people had not come back, the days seemed to turn longer and her bowl running low. She managed to open up the places where food was kept however she knew it was only a matter of days until it too would run out. Perhaps I should leave the yard.... she thought to herself with the terrier going out her the flap door that led out into a small courtyard with tall grass that reached her belly and an even taller wooden fence surrounding the boundaries.
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”
CYPRESS Cypress nodded, gaze scanning each wall and dent acutely. She could hear the paws of the dogs, but the air felt somehow frighteningly silent. "Yes- we wouldn't be opposed to something to eat." The german shepherd forced out, tone forcibly polite in the presence of such a suprisingly welcoming stranger. Suspicious, she thought, but kept such things to herself. "What is your name?" Jadestone
Peppermint did a quick patrol around the fence to see if she could find any good places that she could jump over or dig under, even chew through the wood. She shook her head slightly at the thought of having the taste of wood in her mouth and the possibilities of having wooden needles stuck in her mouth would not be a good outcome. I could move one of the patio furniture... hop on that then jump... she then thought to herself as she looked over at said-furniture that her humans used regularly during the warmer months that some she could push or drag over to the designated area.

Kleel followed the stranger warily, alert for an ambush. He didn't smell any other dogs, but that didn't mean there weren't any. When the dark male stopped at the opened door, he glanced inside. It looked odd, stranger than the place they had escaped. He didn't quite understand what food could possibly be in a place like that. "There is food in there?" he asked skeptically.
Dragon-American Alsatian-(Group)
Dragon nodded and walked ahead of them seeing that they were anxious. The doorway led right into the living room with plush couches and other furniture. There was no window in this room, only a lamp and ceiling fan light which were both off. Ignoring the room, he lead the way to the kitchen and sat down off to the side. "Take what you like," he said as he studied them further.
CYPRESS The beta ignored the confusion behind her, eyes straying straight to the big metal box, one vaguely familiar to her in days of reminiscing. With a rugged grin, the german shepherd stepped closer, eager to see if she still remembered how to open the darn thing. Pressing her snout against the small slot between the door and the rest of the fridge, she pushed and pushed, relishing when it slowly opened with a barely audible pop. Tail wagging, she turned to her companions. "Check it out- food a la paradise." Examining the contents of the fridge, she took a sniff at an expired packet of ground beef, half used. Sinking her teeth into what meat she could use, she dragged it out of the fridge, dumping it into the floor. Her brother followed eagerly, shoving his face in the fridge to look for his treat. Turning back to the meat, she eyed it hungrily, slamming a paw down in the red packaging and cringing as meat came out with a weird noise. Probably wasnt fresh, but Cypress had long since learned not to be picky with food. Leaning down, she took a bite.
Hrafn - none Hrafn was howling with Lupin. She nuzzled him, cheek to cheek. She growled playfully. "Lupin, we better sleep." Lupin was twitching and said, "Only next to you." She nodded and curled up, Lupin around her.
Vixen - none Vixen was watching Hrafn and Lupin. She knew that Lupin was in love with Hrafn, but the question of if Hrafn was in love with Lupin remained a mystery. She snuggled into the warm leaves and muttered, "Hmm…"
Flicker - none Flicker was still awake, and she knew that pretty much every other dog was. She said, "Hey, since we cannot sleep, how about sparring on low energy?" Everyone agreed. They sparred until they were about to fall asleep.
Lupin - none Lupin curled around Hrafn and said, "I love you." It was faint, and Hrafn was asleep. But it carried a meaning.
Peppermint pushed a chair to one side of the wall that was the shortest, then going to the far corner of the yard. “This is it....three! Two! ONE!” She muttered to herself then the pit bull ran at top speed at the chair, leaping on it and using it to help propel her up and over the wooden wall. Her plan had worked to well with her soaring over it and crashing into a bush on the other side, she yelped a little in alarm as she landed. Oh... I hope I didn’t break anything.... she thought to herself and carefully started to move each paw to make her fears not come to light.

Kleel followed Cypress in, watching curiously as she pulled open a large box-thing and took out something that smelled delicious. Still wary, he moved closer to sniff at the strange meat. It didn't smell like any prey he had ever hunted. He looked up at the still open box and decided to try and get something for himself. It had looked simple enough when Cypress tried. The air was surprisingly colder in the box than in the room and filled with so many dizzying scents. Finally, he was able to pick out the scent of something more familiar, but it was stuck behind some clear material and he couldn't paw it out.
Dragon-American Alsatian-(Group)
Dragon watched in amusement as the group dug in. After a few more moments of watching, he walked just past the fridge and opened the freezer. Some things had melted a little while the generator had taken its time to kick in, but there were now ice crystals growing where the water had dripped. He pulled out a plastic bag and then closed the freezer, not wanting to waste any extra power. Then he set the bag down and sniffed at the contents. It would take a while for the steak to thaw, but he wasn't very hungry.
Kai Maikoh-Tamaskan-()
Kai Maikoh curled up under a large machine, her eyes darting around to look into every shadow. It was somewhat like the other places she had been, though the last city she had been to had been a lot busier. She looked around again at the silent alleys and dark buildings. A lot busier. At the very least, there were fewer people that made her fur bristle.
Shadow-NAID/Mackenzie Wolf-(NPC strays)
Shadow let out a low warning growl as he emerged from the darkness of the alley, his teeth slowly revealing themselves as he stalked closer. The three dogs turned in surprise, the smaller still attempting to get away with the scrap. The two larger dogs quickly regained confidence when they saw that Shadow was alone and began to growl and snarl. The smaller dog, forgotten in the disruption, scampered off with the small scrap of meat.
Asha-NAID/Mackenzie Wolf-()
Asha followed along the trail of another small creature. The scent trail was a little old, but it was better than aimlessly wandering. The trail ended around a small cluster of overgrown bushes and a tree that stood off to the side of a building. It seemed a little odd that this piece of nature would grow here without any other trees nearby. Most parks she had seen had at least a couple trees and a lot more grass. A fresh scent woke her from her thoughts and she quickly tracked it to a hole dug at the base of the tree and a bush. Something was inside! But how would she get it out without possibly scaring it off?
