(Good morning!) Yewnose grunted. He got up, and found mud all over his pelt! “Oh Mousedung! I got mud all over my pelt!” He tried to lick some, but he bagged at the horrible taste. “Bleh! Well, I’ll go wash off in the swamp... I guess.” He slowly stepped into the freezing cold water, making him shiver. He slipped and fell in head first. He scrambled out, but at least had gotten most of the mud off! Yewnose sighed. “Well, today is just not my day! Are you okay, Starpawstarpelt?”

Heronheart led Lilacpaw to the edge of the tallgrass prairie. This golden field often held mice and rabbits, though he always preferred the marsh rats. He turned his nose to the sky and narrowed his eyes in irritation. It's going to pour. Typical. Thunder gently boomed in the distance as the sky began to darken. I bet those fools still didn't move the kill pile. He turned his attention to Lilacpaw. "Let's work on our stealth today before the rain, eh?" He crouched down to the ground "Often times, remaining unseen in the best battle tactic. Making yourself appear thin and small will help you creep through the grass. Sneaking is an important skill, both for surprising enemies and prey..." He slipped into the golden grass silently, disappearing for a moment only to pop back up behind Lilacpaw for a playful pounce.

Lilacpaw nodded. “Okay, I’ll try.” She pushed herself down, but you could still see the top of her ears. She slowly pulled herself through the grass, trying to stay flat to the ground. At one point, she snapped a twig, and seemed upset by this. Lilacpaw got up and said “How we’ll did I do?” She hoped it wasn’t terrible, but not perfect. Though, that would be amazing!

Heronheart stifled a laugh. "You're doing great, why don't we try-" A streak of lightning lit up the sky followed by a roar of thunder drowning him out. The fur on the back of his neck stiffened. "That lightning was a little close..." he gasped. He didn't want to make the apprentice nervous, though a grassland wasn't the best place to be right now. Truthfully, he should have had better hindsight. Faint raindrops moistened their fur like dew on morning leaves.

Lilacpaw face turned from excitement to disappointment. “Oh... it’s raining. But I wanted to train! And we need food for the clan! They will starve! Heck you rain! Go away!” She tried to punch the sky, but the rain came down even harder. Lilacpaw sighed. “It’s no use. It’s going to rain, and the prey will hide from it. We should try later I guess...” Her voice sounded hollow, with no emotion. Training was the only thing that relived Lilacpaw from the harsh reality that is life. But now, it was raining, and the area was not safe to train. She slowly padded away.

Despite Starpawstarpelt's forecast, it didn't take long before a couple of raindrops on Creamstar’s nose and whiskers to turn into a down pour drenching her almost immediately. The she-cat hissed ”I THOUGHT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GET CLEAR SKIES!?!?!” she looked around her camp wildly. It was difficult to see through the rain but she could feel the muddy water building up around her paws. She panicked, there was so many things that needed to be done in situations like this but her head empty. Instead she did the next best thing; ”HERONHEART WHAT DO I DO!?”

Slypaw hissed when rain started pouring down on her. “WHAT THE HECK?!” She ran into the apprentice’s den, and laid down. She hated rain! It always ruined everything! It hurt her! Well, not physically. One day, Slypaw finally was going to tell Lilacpaw about her feelings. Then, before she admitted, it started to rain. Lilacpaw scowled Slypaw for waisting her time, and ran back to camp. Ever since then, she hated the rain! It didn’t do any cat any good! It just ruins everything! Slypaw stuck her tongue out, and tried to go to sleep.
