Eva Marie: Eva was breathless when she heard Chancellor Arthur state “You are about to be sent to the ground.” What? The ground?! Nobody’s gone in years! Why send a bunch of teenagers down? Eva know she had murdered someone, but what about the rest? What did they do to deserve such a punishment? Some looked like they were only 13! Maybe it was just destiny that this would happen. But, Eva thought of something else. If there being sent down to Earth, they could see if there’s any life forms left! Yes!

Jace had a dumbfounded look come across his face, his jaw opening a little in shock. The ground? They might as well execute them right here and now! No way am I going toe be sent there! he thought to himself in outrage which he couldn’t help but glare up at the chancellor then turned his attention to the guards, they were ready to intervene if nesscary and someone trying to fight back openly would get several people hurt. While his anger and blood were boiling, he clenched his hands each into fists down by his side to keep himself focused on something else for the moment. After all they were all going to go at some point, either they’ll die in this ship or on the planet.
Meredith Nettles
Meredith’s eyes went wide with a flood of emotions, was the planet habitable once more? Did green life once again grow? Was the air clean and breathable? The more positive questions were soon overshadowed by the more darker ones and finally she couldn’t help but feel scared. She hadn’t felt this way since her father himself was executed, the feeling of being able to do nothing and only watch as your fate became controlled by another’s hand. She glanced at the other prisoners in the room to see they were just as scared, perhaps more or less.

* Chancellor Arthur *
Chancellor Arthur gave the juveniles a few moments to let the news sink in. Those moments were short, however, for time could not be wasted if the prisoners were to make it to Earth in time to land in the green areas of the planet. If they missed the window, launch day would have to be delayed. With the ship running out of air, that was time that could not be afforded. That brought Arthur to his next point.
"The ship has been running on a limited oxygen supply for quite some time. As of now, that supply is beginning to run out. If the ship is lucky, it may survive for six more months until it is completely out of oxygen. That is why we, the Council and I, have voted to send you prisoners to Earth. We have to know if it is survivable," Chancellor Arthur carefully explained. He didn't really want to spring the news to them like that, but he wasn't sure how else to do it either. The prisoners needed to understand the importance of the mission that they were being sent on. The last of the human race depended on it. Success with the mission could save the lives of all humanity. If it failed, humanity would die in the next half-year.
"If the mission succeeds, you will all be pardoned of your crimes." Chancellor then announced.
Emma Robinson {Female - 17 - Command Room}
Emma remained silent as she listened to the Chancellor's words. She still couldn't believe what was about to happen. She and all the other prisoners were about to be sent to Earth, a planet that hadn't been lived on in the past two hundred years. No one knew if Earth was survivable or not, yet here they were about to put the last hopes of mankind into the mission of being sent down there. I sure hope this works. If not, we are all goners. Emma thought.
Alexander Thorton {Male - 16 - Command Room}
So, all of humanity depends on a group of prisoners to discover if life is possible again on Earth. Sounds like a great plan, Alexander thought sarcastically. What could possibly go wrong with all of this? Why send the prisoners down of all people. Probably because we're the most expendable members of the ship, Alexander concluded to himself. That was the only reason that would make sense. All they were doing was taking up space and breathing in everyone else's precious oxygen, while rotting away in tiny cells made of steel and metal. Alexander understood the importance of finding a solution to the oxygen problem - if the ship truly was running out of it -, but he still couldn't be sure that this was the right one. Then again, he also didn't know if there was another solution. Well, if I have to die, at least I'll die trying to do something good.

Ryan barely comprehended the next part of the Chancellor's presentation. He was still focused on potentially being on Earth. His mind wandered about what the surface could look like. He knew what it had looked like two hundred years ago from the textbooks and photos, but now? Who cares about being pardoned! I get to go to Earth! Ryan thought excitedly. The idea of dying on Earth hardly phased him anymore. I hope we land in a place with peppermint... it's good for digestion, and, Ryan imagined the taste of the peppermint candies he used to eat during winter, tastes really good.

Jo felt shock at the Chancellor's words. She chewed lightly on her lip and started to bounce her foot again. The ship was running out of air? So it's either die on the planet's surface or die on the ship. She wished her hands were free from the stifling handcuffs. But the more she thought about the situation, the more relieved she felt. At least Earth has a chance of survival. If she stayed on the ship, she would suffocate in six months, guaranteed. And being pardoned doesn't sound so bad... Jo felt herself begin to calm at the thought. I hope we get some supplies or something too. Dying of an infected paper cut would be a lame way to go out.

Paige Pelletier Paige clenched her fists. She knew they were sending them to the ground, but she didn’t know anything about the pardon. It seemed like a death mission anyway, there was a higher chance of half the kids in the room getting pardoned than killed at first! She crossed her arms, looking around at the people she believed were innocent. Her eyes landed on Archie. She huffed and looked away, not saying a word.
Bella Gray Bella looked up. Pardoned? “Alright!” She said, enthusiastically. To her, it was freedom and there was no way anything would be done wrong to her. She didn’t even notice some of the blank, shocked stares directed towards her— from the ones who thought it was a death mission.
Benji Torres Benji looked at his hands. He started thinking of the earth. He began envisioning a camp ground, him shouting directions at people building huts and helping the younger kids with math. He imagined breathing the fresh air, dipping his toes in a stream, looking up and seeing clouds. He also envisioned kids crying and people dying, ripped apart by the savage animals and creatures on the earth. It was terrifying. He would do anything he could to protect them all. And most of all, he’d protect— “Alright!”

Jace’s eyes went a little wide as he listened to the chancellor explain the reason why the prisoners were being sent to the planet, at least the guy was ‘kind’ enough to provide a valid reason. He did feel slightly angered at the fact that in doing so the higher ups were lying to the majority, his own parents were still alive and the friends he left behind... well that he knew of were still on board the ship. So we’re the last hope for this Ship? Well we’ve got no choice in the matter.... wait how will they know if the planet was livable? Some sort of communication? Maybe....gah this is so complicated... he thought to himself, he looked back up at the chancellor in waiting for what ever was coming next, sure,y they wouldn’t waste anymore time on the prisoners and just let them go.
Meredith Nettles
Meredith bit her lip as she was starting to get anxious, pardoned? If they even survived that is. The teen felt the excitement start to dwindle more and was rising to a mixture of fear and dread, would her father still be alive if he Ha debentures taken this day? Looking around to see it was only people of a certain age group and not much older. He was killed for treason.... I guess he wouldn’t even be considered for this..... she thought to herself which after thinking for a moment it seemed like the chancellor might be announce something else or the fact that they were leaving at that moment.

* Chancellor Arthur *
Chancellor Arthur looked at all the guards and gave them the cue, "Take them to the drop ship." That one sentence was all it took for all the guards to obey his orders. One thing everyone learned quickly on the ship is that the Chancellor's word is law. No one would dare object, unless they wanted to possibly face execution.
The guards ushered the prisoners into another room. This room held the drop ship, along with multiple spacesuits. Once the prisoners were in the room, the guards uncuffed them. "Suit up and get in the drop ship," they instructed.

Eva Marie:
Eva obeyed. She was still surprised about not being executed, but didn’t say a thing. She went down into the drop ship, and wondered what was going to happen. Obviously, they were going to earth, but what was down there? Was the world still decayed? Questions filled her head, and she didn’t know how to answer. Only time would know.

Ryan rubbed his wrists that were finally free from the handcuffs and started to put the spacesuit on absentmindedly. One of his friends, the ones who were killed before him, had a job with ship maintenance and often had to wear a spacesuit. They showed him once, "Just in case," they had said laughing. He had rolled his eyes at the time, but now Ryan had no trouble putting the suit on. He looked around nervously at the other kids, the reality of the situation sinking back in as he stepped onto the dropship. We're really thing this, huh?
Marianna Jolheim

Jo held her spacesuit awkwardly. She didn't really know if there was a certain way to put it on, glancing around at the other kids. Maybe they knew better about wearing the suit than she did? Jo was tempted to ask the others for help but glanced at her guard, his threats still fresh in her mind, and kept her mouth shut as she shimmied into the suit and onto the dropship.
Meredith waited quietly as the handcuffs were removed from her wrists and grabbed one of the suits. How do I put this on.....well gotta work with what I got... she thought to herself as she started to put the suit on which was easy enough, she figured out what made sense and she did glance over at how the others were putting their own suits on. Once she finished putting the suit on did she follow the other order which was to get onto the drop Ship with the other prisoners.
Jace Duckson
Jace let out a small grumble but did as he was told, he honestly wanted to say something yet the thought of being the one responsible for getting any of the other prisoners hurt by accident or in a crossfire would not benefit them at all. He put on the suit which seemed easy enough, I mean the arms went through the arm holes and such. He then stepped onto the drop ship which he couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt as the thought of leaving the main ship and his home. However he pushed past it with a silent gulp in his throat and then he stepped onto it.

After all the prisoners obeyed the orders and were wearing their spacesuits, the guards escorted them all to the dropship. It was just one big drop ship that looked at least a century old. Even though it was ancient in age, it still looked sturdy. It should be enough to hold up for the trip to Earth. It's been there for that long for a reason. Otherwise, it'd be taking up space on the ship.
After the prisoners were on the ship and buckled in, the big metal door to the ship closed and now all the rest of the people with the prisoners were on the outside. "Start the launch," said the head guard into his walkie talkie. Seconds later, the drop ship separated from the rest of the big ship and made its way to Earth.
The ride down was bumpy, but otherwise there were no issues until the ship got past the upper atmosphere of the planet. Regardless, the ship soon landed safely on the ground. Upon landing, the big metal door on the dropship opened and revealed the Earth's environment.

Paige Pelletier After being rushed out of the room and hurriedly told to put on her spacesuit, Paige couldn’t help but notice the same girl that dropped her bear on the ground while being taken to the first room. Without hesitation, she walked over to help her put on her spacesuit. Afterwards, Paige sat in the drop ship very silently. She looked around at the other prisoners, frowning. Are they really doing this to see if it’s inhabitable? Her fists tightened. Or are they just seeing if this is the new best torture method before death! She audibly gasped when the drop ship disconnected from the rest of the ship, becoming queasy and impulsively grabbing and leaning against the arm of another prisoner. Poor Alex. After what felt like forever, she felt herself jump a bit a few times, before a horrible skidding noise sounded. She looked up from the arm of the prisoner, not even recognizing who it was. She looked up, and kinda stumbled while standing up. The world looked beautiful. She wanted to run out there and look around, but fear held her in place. She looked around the ship. She knew whoever took the first step out of the dropship would end up being the leader of the pack. It was how life was. She wasn’t going to do anything of the sort.
Bella Gray Bella was extremely upset about the whole thing, wondering if she’d ever find her teddy bear again. When it came time to put on her suit, she had no idea how to do it. Suddenly, a girl that was almost the same height as her walked towards her, and started helping her. She looked mature, just... short. Before Bella could say anything, she felt something enter her hands. She looked down and saw the crooked smile of the teddy bear she loved so much, and bit her lip to keep herself from crying. She held it in front of herself, clutching it like a small child. The short girl had stood directly in front of Bella, almost too close, to ensure the guards didn’t see the bear. Once the dropship door was closed and they began their dissent, she felt safe in moving the bear from her back to her lap. She knew she’d never see her family again, but there was one thing she knew. When the drop ship skidded to a halt on the ground of the Earth and she looked out at the wonders, she gripped her bear tightly. She wasn’t going to let anyone break her from it again.

Emma Robinson {Female - 17 - Leader - Drop Ship} | with: everyone
Emma was grateful when her guard finally uncuffed her hands. Red marks lined her wrists from where the handcuffs were locked on snugly. There were even places where she had been cut by the clutches. Rubbing her wrists, she could tell that it was definitely going to be sore for a while. Unless Earth isn't inhabitable, that is.
Just as instructed, the 17-year-old quickly and carefully put on her spacesuit, making sure it was on properly. If anything went wrong with the drop mission, then the spacesuit would be the only thing to protect her from immediate death. Of course, that was assuming that nothing went wrong with the engine or the other parts of the drop ship causing it to explode and what not. Otherwise, the suit would be useless.
After Emma was suited up, she followed everyone else into the drop ship. The drop ship was big enough to hold each of the prisoners, but not any larger than that. The seats inside it were cushioned and made of leather. Given the age of the ship, it was surprising that the seats looked in as good of a condition as they did. Typically, leather material like this was easy to snag or scratch, but these seats here looked entirely unscuffed. The material made the seats unexpectedly comfortable, especially considering the drop ship itself was a hundred years old or more.
Emma sat down on her designated seat and strapped herself in. She waited anxiously for all the other prisoners to do the same. A few moments later, the big steel doors of the drop ship were slammed shut. "They're in there. Begin the launch," buzzed in the head guard. Even though that's what was said on the outside, from the inside of the drop ship it just sounded like muffled voices.
Only a few seconds passed before the ship rattled and was separated from the main spaceship. Emma clinged to the handles near her seat as the ride became bumpier and bumpier. Not wanting to watch what might happen next, Emma shut her eyes tightly and braced herself for whatever was to come, death or not. Several minutes ticked by until all was silent around her. Am I dead, or did we actually make it? Emma wondered. Opening her eyes, she could see that it was the latter. They were on the ground!
As soon as the steel doors of the ship opened, blue skies came into view. For now, that's all that was revealed. To see anything else, they'd have to actually go out and see for themselves. Seeing that no one else was in a hurry to check it out, Emma stepped up. "Let's go out there," she said to everyone.
Whenever Emma took her first steps outside, she looked around. For first impressions, it looked like they landed in a field of some sort. A short distance away, stood some trees. The trees seemed to stretch on for hundreds of miles. Beyond the trees, big snow-capped mountains could be seen. Even though the scenery was beautiful, that didn't dismiss the possibility of the planet still being filled with radiation.
Taking off the spacesuit probably wasn't the smartest idea, but there was really no other way for them to judge if it was safe or not unless the suit was removed. Just in case, Emma removed only her helmet and had it ready to put back on again if needed. Holding her space helmet close, Emma took a deep breath. After breathing in the fresh air for a few seconds, Emma couldn't tell if anything was off immediately. She waited for something to start happening, but nothing did. "I think it's safe," she said, letting everyone know.
Alexander Thorton {Male - 16 - Drop Ship} | with: everyone
After Alex was released from the clutches of his handcuffs, he followed the instructions that he was told. He put on his spacesuit and allowed himself to be escorted into the drop ship. Soon enough, everyone else had done the same and the ship took off toward Earth.
Alex didn't say a word to anyone on the way down. He was at a loss for words, and plus it just didn't seem like the time to say anything. He didn't even flinch when he felt the girl sitting next to him grab his arm. He was just too anxious himself that he almost didn't notice it.
Finally, the bumpy ride came to an end and the ship landed. He watched as another girl, who seemed to be a little older than him, stood up and said for everyone to go outside. So soon? We just landed Alex thought, but nonetheless followed.

The trip down from the ship was absolutely terrifying. This hundred of years old ship is all that's gonna protect me from the cold expanse of space? Ryan thought, scowling deeply as the ship descended shakily, seemingly forgetting that the ship he had lived on was just as old.
When the ship landed, Ryan hesitated on standing up. Even though the Earth was right in front of him, the looming threat that there might be deadly levels of radiation, invisible to their eyes, in every facet of the Earth weighed on Ryan's shoulders. Or that the air had turned toxic and could be melting through their suits, that the temperatures could be so hot as to boil them alive, that the animals have mutated into deadly beasts that could come bolting out of the forest and eat their bones. Well, at least at first. Even through his resting angry face Ryan's curiosity and enthusiasm showed as he walked after the girl who got off the ship first. Looking around in a daze, he absentmindedly took his helmet off once she did too.
Hearing a younger girl suddenly shout "wow!," however, broke him out of his trance and all those previous anxieties began to pile on again.
Marianna Jolheim
female/16 - dropship -with everyone-
Too nervous to speak, Jo anxiously gripped the fabric that composed her gloves as the dropship rumbled and whirred. If Jo had known what a rollercoaster was, she would describe the trip as the oldest, rickety-est, least maintained rollercoaster she had ever been on. She even considered screaming in terror as the ride grew bumpier and bumpier, but luckily avoided making a scene as the ship stopped with no major event. Heaving out a sigh of relief, she looked around at the other kids again. A couple seemed to be even as nervous as she was, but a few others seemed to be quite more stoic.
As an older girl suggested they leave the ship, Jo quickly stood up, following behind her. The second the other kids all began taking their helmets off, Jo did so as well, grateful to remove the stuffy helmet. "Wow!!" She breathed as she looked around the field they landed in. "This is amazing!" She shouted, almost wanting to run around the field like a little kid given too much sugar on their birthday. But she didn't - not yet anyway. Who knows what could be in those woods that surrounded the field they were in.

Aria Tankie:
Aria slowly put on her spacesuit. She stepped into the ship, not knowing what would happen next. Well, They were going to earth, but what would happen? Would she die? Would the earth explode? Could it be that the earth is a simulation?! Aria knew that most of these probably weren't true, but it was the only thing keeping her mind off of the ride. She was thankful that the ride home wasn’t to bumpy, until they reached the earth’s atmosphere, or something. It got a little bumpier, and she bang to worry. Aria started to worry, but didn’t say anything. Soon enough, they all landed. Aria instantly rushed outside, not even bothering taking off her spacesuit. She looked around, noticing they were in a field of some sort. She saw some tress in the distance, but nothing else really. “Huh, so this old junk is actually habitable? Cool!”
