THIS IS THE DISCUSSION THREAD FOR THE DARK AND LIGHT ROLEPLAY If you are not participating in the Dark and Light RP, please do not post here! If you're interested in joining the roleplay, then you can do so here. The purpose of this thread is to limit out-of-character discussions that would otherwise take place in the RP itself. You may suggest ideas about what you want to happen in the roleplay, or you can talk about any plans that you have for your characters. This is also a great place to give a heads up if you're going to be inactive from the RP for any amount of time. If there's anything else that you'd like to bring up about the roleplay, you can do so here. For starters, I'd like for DarkClan to have a medicine cat before the roleplay begins. This is unless we want DarkClan's lack of a medicine cat to be a weakness that the clan has (one that LightClan may or may not be aware of). Of course, DarkClan would eventually need a medicine cat, but that bridge can be crossed later. Thoughts on this? Also, I will be assigning mentors to apprentices, unless someone wants a specific cat to mentor their apprentice. If you have a preference, please let me know. As of now, we have: Mistpaw - DarkClan apprentice, 8 moons old. Played by me. Thornpaw- LightClan apprentice, 11 moons old. Played by Lily~Myth . Hollypaw- LightClan apprentice, 10 moons old. Played by cr0wt00th . |

Great! If this is what ends up happening, we could say that the old medicine cat died and was young enough to where they hadn't trained an apprentice yet.

ooh, maybe those who are old enough to remember and have an opinion are pushed away from darkclan's violent lifestyle because their medicine cat died in battle or something like that?
also, lightningscar and silvercreek can be mentors

i have no opinions on who mentors hollypaw, and any of my warrior characters are free to mentor. (:
i love the idea of darkclan having no medicine cat, and their previous medicine cat having died in battle! it could show that darkclan's priorities clearly lie with brute force from their members, and not true care for their cats.

Yes, exactly! It's definitely going to make DarkClan more vulnerable. Not sure if that'd be something LightClan can use or not, since LightClan is more about peace than war. But it's something for them to consider (if they even know that DarkClan doesn't have a medicine cat)

maybe the lightclan medicine cat does but the darkclan medicine cat when they knew they were soon to die, fearful and without taking into consideration lightclan's different lifestyle, made them swear not to tell lightclan aboutt darkclan's new weakness?
edit- i just checked the darkclan thread bc i forgot who the lightclan medicine cat was, but it could possibly tie into brackenflower's personality; not wanting to tell the others about the darkclan medicine cat's death in case lightclan for some reason decided that this would be a good time to attack, and brackenflower didn't want violence to be caused because of her. (the darkclan medicine cat may have told her this to pressure her, im not sure.)
im not telling you to do any of this i just think it'd be cool

I put all the cats eligible to mentor on an online spinner, and I spun the wheel a few times to see who would get an apprentice. I did it in a way that no one would have to mentor their own cat. These were the results:
Mistpaw- Asterfoot
Hollypaw- Pepperstar
Thornpaw- Fallenrock
This good with everyone?

that's fine with me. (: edit: while making my kit for riverclaw, i got an idea! what if riverclaw's mate was deceased, and in reality was the medicine cat? it's just something dumb i thought of, that could both explain the absense of a medicine cat and the absense of riverclaw's mate. it could make some drama if coldstar were to ever find out.
