Takako heard someone calling her name, and she turned to see a red-headed kid looking in her direction. Judging by his looks, she assumed he was a son of Aphrodite, but she didn't particularly remember him. And honestly, she was surprised he remembered her. After all, Takako wasn't really known for being social. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Narrowing her eyes, Takako dipped her head in acknowledgement and kept walking, wondering if the demigod would keep trying to talk to her.
Nathan was not deterred by the camper’s response, made his way over to her. They hadn’t been friends, perhaps sparring partners or acquaintances was a better word to define it. He had joined the camp roughly after she did and after she left camp for several years he did grow concerned, he always was on the lookout for campers that would disappear. “It’s me Nathan, I was that scrawny kid in the training arena who got his rear kicked a lot.” He said with a light laugh at the end, even before getting claimed he had a love of sword fighting and often was in the ring- in the beginning he tasted the floor more than he had victories but he learned and soon was able to hold his own.
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”
"Let's go," Joshua agreed, getting up. The walk towards the hill wasn't too terribly long, though he ended up stopping by the big house before, spotting familiar faces.
"Sanaa, Alex, welcome back," he chimed, waving at them.
"Hello Joshua, hi Hana," Sanaa replied as they moved closer.
"Hey," Alex replied, not really meeting their eyes.
"I hope the camp is still in one piece?" Sanaa asked the two of them, a small smile on her lips.
Lucia's lips tugged up into a smile at Chevy's words. "I'm glad you didn't try to get into fights with monsters in Miami," she replied earnestly. "Big cities always draw hordes of them in." Easier to mix in with the normal humans, after all.
"I'll be looking forward to sparring with you," she added as an afterthought.
--
"Freya," she replied easily, then let our a small 'hmph'. "Well, I guess since you're sooo lost, I will be so nice to show you around. To the adults at least." Freya was obviously enjoying it immensely to not be the new one anymore. And Prue had been unfortunate enough to be her 'victim'. Not that Freya genuinely had bad intentions, though.
She started walking then, clapping her hands together. "Follow me!"

With a sigh, Takako stopped walking and turned to get a better look at the so-called Nathan.
Hm... he does seem vaguely familiar, but I've kicked a lot of rear in sparring matches so... that doesn't really narrow it down. Takako squinted, as if that would help jog her memory, but decided to give up on trying to remember. It didn't matter to her, anyway.
"Ah, yes, Nathan," Takako began curtly, acting as though she remembered. "I hope you've improved your combat skills since last we met."
Seeing Sanaa - and her brother Alex who admittedly she didn't feel as excited to see - Hana felt her heartbeat quicken. She could only hope she hadn't started blushing, and appeared normal and calm on the outside. Eventually she'd settle back into the friendship they'd established in summers previous, but it was always nerve-wracking at the start of each new summer.
"Still in one piece!" Hana beamed, waving at both siblings. "And I only accidentally drenched one person while you were gone!"
Nathan smiled, “of course I have.” He either did not notice her curtly tone but simply rolled with the flow, he had kind of looked up to her when he was younger and first getting into sparring. He had meant to go start to his cabin to unpack then greet his friends but he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to say a quick hi to one of the older campers that had stayed away from camp for sometime. He noticed that she still had her bag as well, and not wanting to hold her up. “Well I don’t mean to keep you from unpacking, Welcome back to camp Takato.”
“Ehh, my gramps would’ve held me back if I did…. Plus it’s not fun to bash in heads by yourself.” Chevy laughed and perked up at the chance to spar, she was itching to fight but through some mediation that she learned earlier this year…. She had managed to calm herself for a very, very short period of time and figured that she had all summer- or year to spar with friends and smash things with her mallet. “Thanks Lucia~ your the best! Oh, I almost forgot. Have ya seen Henry? Last time I was here I was missing a kazoo-“ she began only to cut off when she saw the Hermes camper by the entrance of the dining hall who was looking as innocent as can be, took one look in their direction and discreetly slinked back into the dining hall. “Eh I can face him later.” She said with a shrug.
- - (yeah he stole it, but he was paid by unnamed campers to remove it as the ‘music’ was disturbing the neighbors)
Prue smiled a little bit, still not over well everything but had become a little more relaxed and less of a deer staring into headlights. “Thank you Freya.” She said as she quickly followed after the girl, grateful that she had found someone to help explain things and seemed to know their way around. From a top the hill had been a breathtaking sight to see but coming closer everything was just so…. She couldn’t describe it with just one word, she felt safe here like when she was back with her uncle prior to each time they moved places or were jumped by rando monsters.
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”

"...Thank... you..." Takako managed to get out, feeling strained at the niceties. The kid seemed so earnest, she'd feel guilty to snap at him. "Perhaps we'll meet later in a sparring match."
For Takako, that was the friendliest salutation.
With that, she shifted the bag on her shoulder, dipped her head, and began walking toward camp.
"Well... that's an improvement," Sanaa replied, looking amused at Hana's words. She shifted a little, letting her gaze wander across the camp for a moment. It was honestly good to be back. "I'm sure my cabin has caused enough mischief as well, though." Wouldn't be the first time the Apollo kids pulled something, either.
"Let's walk a bit," she added with a small hum. They still needed to unpack, after all.
"Ah, did he steal something from you again?" Lucia mused, smiling. Wasn't uncommon at the camp. "I'm sure he'll give it back if you ask nicely." Though, nicely was of course a bendable term. Sometimes children of Hermes needed some kinda push to actually give things back. Especially the younger ones.
"I don't want to hold you up if you want to talk to him," she added kindly.
--
"So, if your godly parent didn't claim you yet, you're gonna have to sit it out in the Hermes cabin for now," Freya explained as she walked, swinging her arms back and forth while doing so. "You got any valuable stuff? Cause if you do, hold onto it tight. They're gonna end up stealing it in there otherwise." Which was why it was good to get claimed asap, but she didnt feel the need to mention that. "My mom is Iris, which makes me awesome by default. So no matter who you get, you're not gonna be as cool as me."
Henry had dived back into the dining hall, last time he had ‘commandeered’ Chevy’s kazoo, from complaints and actually getting paid with chocolate bars to steal the instrument. The worst he would get is a payback prank or one-and-one sparring maybe, least was just a laugh and ‘no worries’ type of response. He grabbed a piece of fruit from the buffet table and started to eat. His… stealing without knowing was the real problem and already had done so with some campers in camp, of course that stuff was given back in proper condition. Ehh I forgot to eat breakfast today, oh well, better late than never he thought to himself. Prior to entering the hall he had caught sight of Chevy talking with Lucia, no real concerns at the moment. After all she wouldn’t do anything in the first day really.
- -
“No problem, see you then.” Nathan replied with a friendly smile, eager to get back in the ring and spar with opponents, he had found that mortals- or at least those he sparred with in the fencing ring and such were…. Predictable? It was almost like he was just playing patty cake with them. Perhaps he had just been use to the blood and sweat that went into actual fighting to survive, or that the other campers each had their own unique fighting styles that made things more interesting. In addition to swordsmanship, the previous year he had picked up dancing again. The waltz, the tango, the fox trot- he’s at least practiced each style once and found that it helped for him at least with movement and precision. As he headed to to the cabin he noticed Chevy and Lucia were talking. It’s so nice to see friends once more
“Yea my kazoo, nothing serious really though. I guess they didn’t like my playing at 2am.” Chevy said with a nonchalant shrug. “I can ask him later, plus I got a whole bag of e’m.” She laughed with a small pat on her bag that personal belongings such as clothes and stuff, but also several kazoo instruments that she was going to pass around the campfire. Maybe convince campers to start a kazoo choir or something. “In the meantime I guess I got put them somewhere safe, see ya later then yea?” Eager to spar and break things but if she wanted her plan to work she needed the kazoos safe, plus there would be more time this summer or year if she decided to hang around more.
- -
Prue nodded and was thankful for the advice, the stuff she had packed was essentials but also some key personal items. “So there are cabins for each god and goddess? Then what’s in that big house I saw on the hill?” She asked as she was starting to get a better idea of the camp, the satyr she traveled with- named Branchton had explained some things to her but it was a bit different when your finally there. She did have some familiarity with the Greek myths- a pain in the rear to read at times but she got at least the basics down. Really right now everything was cool in her eyes.

"Oh, you know it," Hana laughed, recalling the time some of the Apollo campers had hidden the weapons of some other campers. Being Apollo kids, they'd said the only way to get the weapons back was to follow the riddles they'd created. Hana had thought that was a pretty fun day, although she wasn't sure Sanaa would have let that happen if she'd been around.
Hana started walking slowly toward camp with the others. "So... uh... how was the time in the normal world?"
Hana didn't leave camp often, so it was almost as intriguing to her as some people would find Camp Half-blood. But for the daughter of Poseidon, Camp Half-Blood was pretty much her entire life now.
"Of course," Lucia replied with a smile, not minding at all. They all still had to unpack, after all. She gave a small wave to Nathan as she saw him, but figured that he'd be busy as well, so she started setting off towards her own cabin. Being part of the big three was a bit lonely at times, as it was rare to get siblings at the camp. Although, it usually meant the big three kids stuck together. While Nick had only recently returned to the camp after having been gone a while - seemed to be a normal thing for Hades kids, or something - she liked spending time with both him and Hana.
--
"Oh, our 'overseers' stay there and stuff, basically," she said with a wave of her hand. "I think I'm supposed to bring you there? But we can do that after I showed you around, cause they're only gonna show you boring stuff and how dangerous everything is." She shrugged at that, marching forward still. "You got a weapon?"
If not, they'd probably have to stop by the weapon shed first.
"Very... normal," Sanaa replied jokingly. "Alex and I went to school and all, lived with our mom. Experienced the chaos New York has to offer, and all."
"Camp is more exciting," Alex had to agree after a moment. At least, it was so in summer, when they were usually there.
"Man, I do not miss normal school," Joshua joked. He hadn't been to a school outside of camp half blood ever since he'd been brought there all the way from his father in England. But even before that, school hadn't been high up on his list of things he had enjoyed doing.
Unlike other campers, Nick didn't necessarily have to get a plane to get to camp. At least, not at this point. He knew he wouldn't be landing kilometers away from the camp anymore. His hand gripped onto the side of the Big House, emerging from the shadows. His world was spinning for a few moments, though then he managed to straighten himself up. While the side effects of shadow traveling were annoying, he really preferred it over having to fly and be in Zeus' domain.

Henry took notice that some campers were in the mess hall, and being nosy curious he decided to go up to them. “Hey there, your… Yar right? I’m Henry.” The camper he was talking to was someone new, he didn’t recognize his face nor did he remember stealing anything from him. He looked to be a little older, maybe fourteen? Who cares about age- their all demigods here. He thought of the kid’s name for a moment, yes gossip travels like wildfire and he always tried to be in the know of who’s around and who isn’t.
Chevy grinned once more before heading over to her cabin, she would’ve cartwheeled all the way there but the area had grown crowded with campers here and there, she figured no one would want a foot to the face on their first day of camp- be it a newbie or a veteran camper. She waved at everyone she passed until she got to her cabin. The cabin didn’t house a bunch of campers like the Hermes cabin nor did it have little to no occupants. The smell of grapes filled the air as she walked through the cabin’s door and began to unpack her stuff. It was what she liked to call ‘organized chaos’ that had a rhyme and pattern to it, her side wasn’t messy but to anyone else it might seem to be. She stuffed the bag of kazoos in a secret spot. “I’d like you try to get it this time.” She chuckled as she put extra measures around it to keep it safe.
-
Nathan waved back to Lucia with a smile on his face and for a briefest of moments he felt his heartbeat twice, ignoring it as indigestion or something he presided to his cabin, it stood out- nothing like Apollo’s cabin but being akin to a dollhouse which he still found adorable. He unpacked things into their respected places, dusting off anything that looked like it needed a little shine and putting up some new pictures as well. “It’s so good to be back.”
-
Prue nodded but was curious about these ‘overseers’ and who they were, she was almost killed sometime ago by a monster so… the danger was really there. Getting to understand more of what’s out there would have a better chance of fight or flight. “A weapon? I kind of have one… but a second one would be nice.” Her uncle had given her an arm brace that had a blade that would shoot it from it with just a twitch of the wrist, she had practiced with it under his supervision at home but on the trip had decided to keep it in her bag for the meantime. What she also took to heart was always be prepared and have a back up ready, seeing as this weapon was a close-range she figured something to keep opponents back would be helpful.

If Hana was being perfectly honest, she didn't remember public school all that much. She had some vague memories of doing crafts and memorizing the alphabet in kindergarten, but it all seemed like a lifetime ago. It felt like she was an entirely different person now. She felt so distanced from that time, she wasn't even sure if she missed it.
Well, the other kids weren't exactly talking public school up, so she probably wasn't missing out on much.
She looked over at the other three, not sure what to say. "Hm... well, who wants to think about school during the summer? It's time to explore! Time for games! Time for the sparring match of a lifetime!" She leaned in close to the others and lowered her voice to a whisper. "Maybe even... time for a quest where we go on a daring adventure and forge bonds deeper than tartarus?"
As Takako was walking past the Big House, she noticed another demigod appear from what looked like the shadows, stooping over momentarily to catch his breath. Narrowing her eyes, she wondered if he was in need of help. For a brief second, she stood still, debating whether or not to call out. Then the kid stood up straight and seemd to gain his bearings.
With a sigh of relief, Takako kept walking and hoped he hadn't noticed her staring.
Yarrow looked up from his lukewarm eggs, startled by someone suddenly addressing him. Wringing his hands nervously, Yarrow nodded. "Uh yeah.., I'm Yarrow. It's nice to meet you, Henry."
Yarrow extended his slightly shaky hand in greeting, offering a handshake. "I'm new here, I got here early this morning... I haven't met a lot of people yet, though. What cabin are you in?"
Freya smirked at that, putting her hands to her hips dramatically. "Alright! To the weapon shed it is!" she decided, pointing up ahead. Then, she started walking again, a small skip in her step. She definitely had a lot of energy, but had good intentions showing Prue around. "Also, what's your 'kind of' weapon?" she added, curious. Seemed like Prue already had something she could fight with.
Joshua chuckled at that. "I thought quests were dangerous," he told Hana, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You're making it sound like an adventure straight out of a book. Just missing the tragic and sappy romance~" He winked at her after saying that.
"I've heard quests usually aren't a very good sign," Sanaa agreed, but sent Hana a kind smile. "I hope if you get to go on one, it's a nice one, though." Without all the death and other stuff she had heard about. Or just getting sent around by some god to do their errands. Though, that sounded more annoying than dangerous.

With a frown, Hana shook her head and bit her lip, knowing she'd come across as frivolous to the others, particularly Sanaa. Hana knew, of course, that quests were dangerous - it would hardly be a quest otherwise. But Hana also knew there were bad things happening out in the world whether she was there to help or not. She felt a bit... guilty? about living carefree and safe at the camp, knowing she had the power to make a difference elsewhere. But without being granted permission to go on a quest, she didn't really have the grounds to go out and help where she could.
"It's.. it's not that I take quests lightly," she blurted out hastily, turning red again. "I just want to feel like I'm making a difference in the world. I love it here at camp, but I think spending my whole life here is getting to my head." She glanced sheepishly at Sanaa, hoping her friend would understand.
“Nice to meet ya too Yarrow,” Henry grinned and shook the boy’s hand, a firm but friendly handshake. That explained why he hadn’t seen his face before, a newbie to the camp but from the looks of it seemed to be adapting well enough at the start. “I’m from the Hermes Cabin, I’m also the counselor of it. Kind of like… the ‘head honcho’ of the cabin. Oh, and those who’s parent hasn’t claimed them yet also stay at the cabin too.” He proudly stated which he was indifferent with his godly parent to be honest, if anything he could do without his hardwired brain for stealing. He also gave a quick explanation of what a counselor was and the other function of his cabin- in case the new guy didn’t know. “Who’s your godly parent? If I may ask that is.”
Prue quickly followed after the camper once more, with each step growing a bit more confident and relaxed. “It’s something my uncle gave me before coming here…. It’s an arm brace that produces a blade from it. I haven’t used it on any… monsters or fights, only on straw dummies.” She explained the best she could of the weapon from what Kadar had told her. He had told her how to use it but also care for the complex mechanism behind it, truly was a brilliant piece of work and she wouldn’t lie to say that she wasn’t fascinated by it. Uncle seemed unsure at first though… he has one too, maybe that’s it she briefly recalled that day but it dispersed as they got closer to the shed.
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”
