So... Yeah, um... I was looking up pictures of evil Pokémon ( Demonchu 4eva!) Cause I had a stomach ache and saw some people saying that Pokémon is evil.... What? I don't.... Well I looked up why they thought that and one reason is because Misty held a cross.... So um, any sign of Christiananty (spell check bear me up -_-) is bad? They argued that it was used as another cgarm lime garlic but... Wasn't it a last resort? I can't remember but I think this is why Zakuro's weapon changed because it looked like a cross. Still alittle iffy, I can't quite see what's wrong with it.

Religious communities may find it evil because of the use of "magic" like powers, which is forbidden for them.

In several religious, particularly Christian, circles, Pokémon is seen as occult, and sometimes even dangerous. One main concern is how addicting the game can be; and it is certainly true that many children become strongly involved in playing Pokémon, so I think this point of view is reasonable enough. Another worry is that it encourages a life of fighting. Some of the more extreme believers in the evil of Pokémon have gone so far as to say that it inspires a killing instinct. It is true that Pokémon is based around battle, though I think saying that it encourages kids to kill is a bit much. Another large issue, as Bresus mentioned, is the magical aspects of the game. You use magical potions to heal your Pokémon, and of course Psychic-type Pokémon often have moves directly related to manipulation of the mind. Many claim that this resembles witchcraft, which is generally forbidden and frowned upon by most Christian communities.
One other complaint that I've heard, though less often, is that Pokémon evolution is Darwinian. Some Christians do not believe in evolution, so this argument would be valid if Pokémon evolution actually did resemble our modern concept of evolution. Which it doesn't. The main similarity between Pokémon evolution and real-world evolution is the name!
Pokémon elemental types are said to be a direct reference to Paganism - while it is true that many Pagan and earth-worshipping religions have a focus on the elements, I feel like this is a bit of a stretch. References to elements are found in many places; they are not exclusive to Paganism!
There are many claims of Satanic symbolism in the show and games. However, one could find supposedly Satanic imagery just about anywhere if one viewed the world with the same scrutiny that these people view Pokémon.
Essentially, the belief that Pokémon is evil - Satanic, even - stems from certain Christian views. Most of these were built unwittingly on misconceptions and a lack of understanding about Pokémon. There's not really anything to be done about it; we just have to deal with it. Though many of the 'facts' that contribute to the 'Pokémon is evil campaign' have been distorted or even outright made up, the people who hold such views are generally set strongly enough in their beliefs that their minds can't be changed.
These people truly believe that Pokémon is something that will corrupt their children; that it encourages their kids to participate in witchcraft and fighting and that it intends to draw them farther away from God. While this may seem absurd to us, I think the only thing there really is to do is try to be respectful of their views and just avoid talking about the issue altogether unless opposing sides are able to talk about it courteously and respectfully, realizing that they will not be able to change the other's views.
