neatly dug out by miners a couple centuries before on their quest for minerals. Above, a large mesic forest awaits, providing a plentiful of herbs and prey during the warm months, in the mid-high lands, though Leaf-bare proving to be quite tedious and difficult. Their territory consists mainly of mesic type forest, to the south of their camp lies rockier uplands consisting primarily of oaks.
Landmarks
The camp is located moderately high above sea-level besides a narrow river that has carved into the rocks over the many years, the camp situated in a large cavern dug out by miners centuries before. In the cavern, smaller areas are cut out from the mining and dynamite, providing dens to the cats, the medicine cat's den being down a narrow tunnel that cuts into a medium sized cavern, a rocky path leading down to a small pool below; the walls having small crevices used for storing herbs. The leader’s den is above a few feet, a large crevice in the wall. The den’s are lined with large broad leaf and moss used as comfort for the nests.
The Mountain of the Moon is a rocky upland area located south of the camp that rises high above the ground, large oaks dot the side of the mountain, waterfalls cascading down below. The top of the mountain is a flattened surface, ledge juts out, which serves as where leaders receive their nine lives, and medicine cats go to speak to Starclan. It’s considered highly sacred land, overlooking the land below is dry, rolling mountains.
The Dry Land is the expansive area on the way to the Mountain of the Moon, few creeks criss- cross the area, and a large variety of oaks sprawl the land. Prey tends to be a bit scarce, however, some types of important herbs that don’t grow in the rich forest territory grow in the Dry Land.
The Dead Fog is a an area of high elevation to the west of the camp, clouds lies close to the ground, trees are sparse, and it’s less rich in terms of prey and herbs. Many cats believe it is where the cats of the Dark Forest walk, and it is normally a dare given to apprentices or young warriors to stay there the night.
History
Many moons ago, during the Gold Rush, some prospectors on their way to California brought a wagon full of cats, hoping to sell them as pets to cure the loneliness many of the miners faced. However, crossing the Appalachian mountains was quite tedious and dangerous at the time, and the owners and some of the cats met their death. Though, some survived, one by the name of Dawn. Dawn knew the only way there was a chance at survival in the harsh, unforgiving mountains was to stick together, christening the birth of Dawnclan.
Clan Characteristics
Living in the mountains, the air is thinner, the cats adapted to their lack of abundant oxygen, resulting in larger lung capacities, allowing them to not have issues high up in the mountains; also causing them to be a bit more smaller than the average cat and having fewer kits in litters, typically having no more than four.
Another noticeable characteristic are their paw pads, thickened, to tough out the rocky land, and aiding in scaling the mountains without tearing up their paws. They also tend to be muscular cats, especially in their legs for jumping up to higher locations such as ledges.

Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
The word of the Clan Leader is the warrior code.
An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the four. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.
