This is a fan fiction about my character, Darkheart.Istoleherfrommyfriend The Rise of BloodClan part is because there are going to be two parts to this.
Book One
Prologue
A dark she-cat leaped suddenly at a larger ginger tabby. “Darkpaw! What are you doing?” She cried and step-sided, sending the apprentice tumbling through the slightly frosted grass. Darkpaw got up and snorted, she knew all about what her 'mother' had done, and now, she was going to pay for it! Darkpaw leaped at her again, slashing her flank as she did.
The ginger tabby yowled in pain and ran for a pine. ”Coward!" Darkpaw hissed and climbed up after her, the moonlight illuminating her unsheathed claws. "Darkpaw! Why are you doing this?" She asked the apprentice fearfully. “I know what you did!” The dark she-cat snarled and grabbed onto the rough bark of the pine with her sharp claws.A sudden yowl stopped her, "Darkpaw, I can't let you do this!” A golden tabby called through the slight fog from below her eyes fearful. Darkpaw looked down at her and growled, "You never understood anything, Sunpaw!" With that she jumped down on top of Sunpaw and landed on her back. The golden she-cat yowled and tried to throw her off, but Darkpaw was too heavy.
Darkpaw dug her claws into her sister's shoulders and smiled at her yowls of pain, but did not let go. "Darkpaw! Stop!" She barely had time to look up as a larger golden-ginger tabby she-cat knocked her off. She rolled through the cold dead grass and looked up at the she-cat. “Darkpaw, stop this right now!" She ordered her amber eyes blazing with fury. Darkpaw ignored her and leaped forward, only to be met with a hard slap on her head witch sent her skidding. She hissed as two more cats pinned her down. "Thorntail, Ivypelt! Take Darkpaw back to camp and fetch Mudleaf!" The amber eyed she-cat called as she ran over to where Sunpaw sat licking her shoulder and Orangeblossom climbing down form the pine, wincing from the wound on her flank.
Darkpaw thrashed as she was dragged back to the camp, but her mentor and the other warrior would not let go of her. She saw the dark pelts of cats coming out of their dens and looking at her with hostile, gleaming eyes."I can't believe she would do that!" someone whispered, "I always knew she would betray us!" said another. She recognized them as Pineneedle and Frogmouth, the only cat that was not giving her hostile looks was a large dark tabby, who looked at her with sad, amber eyes.
She looked away and met Nightpaw's blue gaze. "Darkpaw, why did you attack your sister? Didn't you say that we were all friends?" She asked sadly. Darkpaw snorted and responded, "No one in this clan is my friend!" She continued walking with Thorntail and Ivypelt on either side of her until they got to an area they could watch her, and she could not escape. Mudleaf came into the camp with Sunpaw and Orangeblossom behind him.
She didn't see the amber she-cat, but then caught a shimmer of golden fur in the corner of her eye as she leaped onto a log and gazed over her clan. “Shadowclan, as you probably have heard already, Darkpaw,” she said as she gave the dark apprentice a hateful glare. “Attacked Orangeblossom and Sunpaw in the forest,“ she heard gasps of shock come from the ones who hadn't heard the news already.
“They are fine, but now we must do something about the traitor. I have decided that she can no longer live with this Clan,” she waited for the yowls of agreement to hush and then Thorntail brought Darkpaw forward, she gave her leader a menacing glare as she continued. “Darkpaw you attacked members of this clan, did you not?"
"What do you think, Amberstar?“ Darkpaw snorted.
Amberstar continued, "Darkpaw you are no longer part of this clan if you are seen on our territory after sunrise we shall treat you as an enemy warrior, leave, before I do worse!“ She meowed, Darkpaw started out with her head in the air as if she didn't care if she was being exiled.
"Wait!" Amberstar shouted before Darkpaw was through the entrance. "To give everyone a remembrance for what happens when you betrayed this clan, your name will no longer be Darkpaw but Darkheart, your heart is dark with hate and will always be that way, now go,“ she finished her amber eyes gleamed.
Darkheart hissed and ran out of the camp; she ran through the pine covered forest, she was not sad, no tear came across her face. The only thing she felt was rage toward everyone in the Clan, especially Amberstar. She kept running until the pines started to thin out, she could make out oak and beach and scattered willows.
She had crossed Thunderclan's border and now she would have to face them in order for her to get out of their territory, and in a time where all the Clans were at war, no-one, wanted to be caught by a rival Clan's patrol.
She slipped between the trees, scenting the air every once and in a while. The dark she-cat found it easy to slip between the brambles and thorns that covered the territory. Darkheart stopped suddenly; she heard the voices of an early dawn patrol and froze. She overcame her panic, backing up against a dark tree and curled up under the roots, hoping her dark pelt -- and the scent of the mushrooms that grew all over the tree -- hid her. From where she was she could hear and see who was on the patrol, it was Darkfoot, the deputy, his apprentice, Icepaw, and possibly Strongclaw.
She held her breath as Icepaw picked up a scent, but was relieved when she pounced and came up with a mouse. When the patrol was out of range of hearing, she pulled herself out from under the tree and padded toward the Windclan boarder, hoping the cat she was meeting was still there. As the trees thinned she started to feel more exposed and vulnerable than when she was in Thunderclan's territory. She looked around for him, but gave up shortly and looked for a place to spend the day .It was almost fully dawn, she was tired and didn't want to meet a Windclan dawn patrol.
She found a rabbit burrow and dug it a little so she could fit in, then crawled down in and curled up to sleep, but before she drifted off to sleep, she heard a sudden hiss come from outside the burrow. Too late for hiding, someone already knew she was there…
A she-cat’s voice came from outside. ”Come on Shadowclan cat! I thought you guys were fierce and scary? Well it seems your turning into the kittypets you live with! “The voice sneered and laughed, but Darkheart knew what the Windclan cat was up to. She was trying to lore her out, well it would not work.
“I thought Windclan cats were braver than rabbits, but is seems that your turning into the cowardly prey. Why don't you go and eat some droppings, I hear they are tasty.“ She sneered back and waited for her response. She heard struggling as the other cats tried to hold the she-cat back. “Come out now or we will get Grassstar to deal with you!” Growled the first tom, he really wasn’t happy.
She eventually decided a patrol was better than facing the leader of Windclan and she slowly came out. Nope she was wrong, the leader would be much better, she thought as she looked out at the brown she-cat that outside. It was Gorsenose, the deputy’s sister; she not only had a bad temper, but a temper worse than Breeze-eyes.
She came out anyway and the she-cat glared at her. “Ah, the Shadowclan apprentice, Darkpaw.” She meowed, her whiskers twitching with amusement. Darkheart narrowed her eyes and snorted. “Its Darkheart Clan cat, “ she meowed proudly glaring at the patrol. Gorsenose snorted, but the apprentice she just noticed had froze, he looked up at his mentor, the brown-grey tom just stood there glaring back at Darkheart.
“And what did you do to earn that name, eh?” A pale brown tabby mewed from behind her; it was Grassstar, the leader of Windclan. Darkheart spun around and hissed, but did not answer. The tom didn’t even flinch, just stood there calmly and waited for her to answer his question.
“Now why would I tell you rabbit-hearts anything?” She spat and laid her ears back flat against her head. He flicked his tail and the patrol surrounded her; blocking any exits. “Well then we will go to Amberstar and ask her what happened,” he said and led the way back to the WindClan camp. Darkheart’s whiskers twitched in amusement as she walked in the center of the patrol, there was no way Amberstar would even let them come a whisker into the territory, let alone to the ShadowClan camp, they would die before they could even properly greet her! She chuckled at the thought, attracting the attention of the apprentice, who was about her age actually.
“What?” He asked the she-cat cautiously. “Oh, nothing.” She said and as they neared the camp, she suddenly found out how she could escape, as long as they didn’t put too many guards on watch, that is.
She settled down in her ‘prisoner den’ as Grassstar explained to his clan why she was here. “I still don’t understand why I have to guard her,” Gorsenose retorted angrily. Darkheart laughed inwardly and took the opportunity to insult the proud she-cat.” Because you and your kin are weak two-leg play toys!”
A dark she-cat leaped suddenly at a larger ginger tabby. “Darkpaw! What are you doing?” She cried and step-sided, sending the apprentice tumbling through the slightly frosted grass. Darkheart’s ears laid back against her head as a brown-grey tom crawled down in the burrow the now rouge lashed out at his nose as he came into view.
