As the river flowed in peace and balance a silver she-cat sat by the bank. She sighed and looked behind her to see a tiger-like tabby walking towards her. His tail was held high along with his head, "aren't you cheerful Echostar." He chuckled. Echostar stood up and a small hiss slipped from her mouth. "I don't think Willowclan can handle this prophecy!" she yelled, the fur along her back prickled. Her mood changed abruptly. The tom jumped back in fright. His smile faded and his tail went down, he sighed and walked towards Echostar. "Willowclan is strong," he stated in pride. "You still act like an apprentice.." Echostar mumbled in a sad tone. The tom walked close to Echostar and sat down. "You watched me grow into a warrior my leader. Willowclan is strong your just falling apart," he stated his tone became softer. Echostar sat down with the tom realizing he was right. She watched the river start to get choppy and increase speed rapidly. "Why does this happen?" Echostar asked still staring at the river. The tiger-like tabby smiled like he always did, "it will make them stronger." He stood up and simply left. Echostar watched him go with pride, that her apprentice had finally grew up.
The tiger-like tom headed his way to the Weeping Willow Tree, which was where the wisest ancestors go. He slowed down his pace as he saw the cats talking with each other. "Hello Tigerstep, what brings you here?" a small cat asked looking up at Tigerstep. He sat down near the base of the tree. "The prophecy," he stated looking up at her. She smiled softly, "it's either friends or enemies." All the other cats looked at the tiny she-cat. Their heads dipped in silence all wondering what to say, a tom decided to speak first. "I don't see why we are all arguing if Willowclan can handle this." He stated his voice angered. All the other cats looked up and agreed. Tigerstep shook his head, "Echostar is upset about it." The other cats looked at Tigerstep with worry. Tigerstep was the only one close to Echostar.
one clan has been standing here in the snow all alone, all the prey is for them. yet a cat as strong as the cold frost challenges them. what will this clan choose, friends or enemies?
he might look powerful, yet he will come close with the fire in your eyes. everyone will hide in fear but one will respond. will it be fire?
will frost and flames bond together and create a mighty force. or will it create the next war?
The other tom who spoke early nodded his head to Tigerstep's statement. "May we watch down at all of Willowclan and wish them luck," he mewed. All cats spoke together, "good luck Willowclan." The small she-cat stood up and first and walked away. She soon came to a place where she could be in peace. She was easily angered, and she needed to calm down. She closed her eyes and drifted off in a deep thought to see how Willowclan was going. She knew Willowclan's Medicine Cat would hide the news for awhile.

Nightspark padded out from her den. Her fur was pricked up, she was still deciding if she should share the prophecy. I have to tell the leader, it's my responsibility. She thought to herself. Nightspark headed into the leader's den deciding it's the right time to share it. "Hello my leader," she mewed in a kind tone. Miststar was sitting down with her tail around her legs, "yes Nightspark?" Nightspark told her the prophecy, she remembered every part of it. "Who would be.." Miststar trambled off then continued, "it must be Firewing..." Nightspark nodded and sat down. She responded to Miststar's statement, "we can't tell her. We need to see who this 'Frost' is." Miststar nodded and looked out of her den seeing all the warriors. "Well I have a clan to take care of," she purred amusingly. Miststar got up and walked out of the den towards the fresh-kill pile.
Nightspark sighed as she sorted through herbs in her den. "Good morning Nightspark," Cloudpaw mewed as he walked into the Medicine Cat den. Nightspark tone was angered, "why are you here so late.. it's not even morning anymore." She finished up herb sorting and stood up. Cloudpaw looked down, "sorry I was hunting with a patrol." Nightspark shook her head and walked towards Cloudpaw. Her fur pricked up once again, "Cloudpaw.. your a Medicine Cat Apprentice." She continued, "how about you help get rid of the ticks on the elders." Cloudpaw sighed and turned around. He mewed jokingly, "your like a fire in this camp..."
Miststar saw the deputy sitting by the fresh-kill pile. "Firewing can you make a border patrol?" Firewing stood up her ears perked. She asked in worry, "this early? did some cats spot fox scents again?" Miststar laughed softly at Firewing's question. "Just a little extra patrol okay," she mewed. Firewing nodded and started to walk towards the Warrior's den. Miststar got a piece of prey and sat down to eat. She started to feel a drip of water down her fur, what is that? She thought to herself. Miststar looked up to see little drops of snowflakes falling down. Ferretpaw padded into camp, "already snowing early!" She mewed loudly to Miststar being her bouncy self. A small laugh came from Miststar's mouth, she always loved seeing the apprentices having fun.
Nightspark's mouth opened at Cloudpaw's statement. Fire? she thought to herself, she shook her head at her thought. "Now I wasn't lying go to the elders, you know what to do." Nightspark purred in amusement. Cloudpaw laughed and got some Mouse Bile, then he raced out of the den. Nightspark looked around to see if she had some cobwebs, do I have some? She thought to herself and slowly walked out of her den. She picked up the pace and walked out of camp to get some. Noticing the snow falling down she she shivered wondering about Leaf-bare.
The cold wind started to blow making most of the warriors stay in their dens just to warm up. Firewing decided to pick just two warriors to go with her to border patrol, her fur was long a slick so it would sink down from the snow. She shook her fur and guided the two cats outside camp. Dewclaw walked ahead of Firewing looking around cautiously, the fur on his back pricked as if he thought something would spring up at him. The other warrior Stonefoot walked at the same pace of Firewing and his fur was covered in white snowflakes. Firewing signaled her tail to go left and they checked the river border.
Her pitch black fur made her warm during the harsh wind. Nightspark looked around to try to find some cobwebs, she decided to go to the old withered tree. As she came close to it she saw another cat, she hissed smelling a loner-like scent. The charming tom turned around to see Nightspark. "Hello," he mewed. Nightspark glared at the silver tom, she slowly backed away from him. The tom chuckled, "this is what I get for trying to make friends.."

The tom walked near Nightspark his long fur swiping against the ground. Nightspark spat impatiently, "listen I can chase you off in a second." The tom sat down once again and chuckled. He swept his tail against the half-snowy ground, "your personality is strange for a medicine cat." He stated. Nightspark's mouth opened in surprise, "how do you know I am a Medicine Cat?" The cat chuckled once again but his laugh was softer. "The beautiful stars told me about your clan," he mewed calmly. Nightspark was opposite of calm, she knew who she was talking to. "Frost," she mumbled. The silver tom stood up, "may I ask how you know my name?"
The wind was blowing hard against the three cat's fur. As they walked through the harsh weather Dewclaw stated, "it will be hard to find prey." Firewing shook her head and started to pick up the pace. She mewed, "the prey is as surprised as us. I will make four hunting patrols a day." Stonefoot agreed with Firewing, he looked around to see the trees still having colored leaves. Dewclaw didn't understand it, though he had just became a warrior he wasn't as wise at the older warriors. As they were almost finished checking the boundries they headed back to the camp. Stonefoot shook his fur to get the snow off. They walked slowly towards the camp, once they got there they headed their way to small groups to warm up.
Nightspark turned around and ran near the camp's direction. This was her second time to hear a prophecy, and she thought it was her first time to be in one. As she ran she tripped sliding on the slick snow. Frost was chasing after her, once Nightspark tripped he stopped. "Are you okay?" He asked confused about the situation. Nightspark jumped back up and looked at Frost with wide eyes. Frost was majorly confused now, he instead backed up. Nightspark shook her head, "sorry just a little surprised." Frost nodded and backed away a little more. Nightspark sighed, "why are you here?" She asked in curiousity, knowing what he would say.
Cloudpaw was talking to Petalwhisker, one of the elders. "Well, Cloudpaw heard Nightspark isn't that happy that your 'distracted'." She laughed softly. Cloudpaw pressed the Mouse Bile on Petalwhisker's pelt, he laughed a small bit. Trying not to get the Mouse Bile in his mouth he dropped it on the floor instead of trying to just place it down. "I don't get why she calls me distracted though," Cloudpaw replied. Petalwhisker got up to face Cloudpaw, "you are always hunting and spending time with your little friends. To be a Medicine Cat you need to stay focused." She yawned and laid down. Fallenrock nodded and pitched in, "try to focus on becoming what you want to be Cloudpaw." Cloudpaw nodded and swept his tail against the ground. "Well I am going to go ahead and wash my paws off," he mewed. Petalwhisker laughed, "I bet you'll try to be washing your paws in a frozen pond!"
Frost replied, "to create a new strong clan. With one clan it's just not balanced." Nightspark never really noticed how it was just them, no other clan to talk with. "Clans cause wars and more problems," she stated still sticking with her gut. Frost debated her look, "a new clan will cause a new group to help protect of intruders." Nightspark looked up at Frost to see how he looked confident with his ideas. She smiled softly, "you are right. Though peace sometimes doesn't last forever." Frost nodded and walked past Nightspark gently brushing against her fur. "I have to go, maybe I will see you later in a future gathering." He chuckled and quickly left. Nightspark walked back to the tree still wondering if what she thought now was the truth. She grabbed the cobwebs she needed, which was all she really wanted this time.
Cloudpaw licked his lips, slightly tasting the Mouse Bile. He dipped his paws in the small pond next to camp. It wasn't solid but it looked like it could turn to ice in any second. He grabbed some Beech Leaves that were by the pond for carrying the different herbs. He padded to camp, which only took a second because he was close by. His fluffed up fur blended with the soft snow. As he walked near camp he noticed Nightspark wasn't back. She bothers me about how I take too long, Cloudpaw thought to himself. He saw Squirrelpaw playing with a piece of prey. He joined in and they started to play "Clan". They were at least 7 moons still acting like kits.
