Woo! Finally! Incredibly sorry for the late reply. As I emphasized, updates were weekly (and would be usually delivered to you on Saturdays or Sundays) however, procrastination had other plans for me. But I promise that I will do my best to get updates as quick to you as possible.
-Offer to go help on the expedition to find what has contaminated the stream "May I go help on the expedition?" I offered, fixing my eyes hopefully on Clearstar. Beiside me, Bluepaw shifted uncomfortably. "If she's coming, I'd like to come to." He announced. Clearstar shifted her eyes back and forth between us, looking on skeptically. "Well..." She began. "It could be dangerous. You only are apprentices after all. Perhaps it would be better if you could stay behind." "But Clearstar!" My brother protested, perking up behind me. "It could be good practice for us." Clearstar only nodded. "Fine. On one exception: you stay out of trouble. Blueheart and Smoothpool will accompany you." With that, she turned and stalked away. -
A couple of moments later, me and Bluepaw stood by the edge of the stream. staring at a big, flat thin plastic human object as it floated downstream. "What is it?" I asked, batting at the strange object. "I heard they call them 'trashbags'." Blueheart said. "At least, some of the loners do." I looked at Blueheart curiously. "You've spoken with loners?" "The guards warned me about some two loners at fourtrees. Went on a patrol to scare them off one day, and picked up chat from them." "This is what is causing the problem! The fish ate these!" Bluepaw chirped, pleased at finding out the cause of the fish's sickness. "Let's remove it from the stream so no stupid fish will dare eat it again." With a claw, he hooked the trash bag and hefted it out of the stream onto the bank.
"What are RiverClan scum doing here?" Not a moment too soon I heard a voice yowl from the other bank. Then suddenly there was a flash of glinting teeth from the far distance as ThunderClan leapt from their side of the bank and dashed over, their legs a blur. "RiverClan and ThunderClan are neutral!" Smoothpool howled with fury and disbelief as they too, ran forward to meet ThunderClan with unseathed claws. A grey tabby began hopping on the stones that formed a bridge across the stream, glinting daggers at Smoothpool. "That does not mean we can't defend out territory if need to be." "We're not here to steal prey or attack ThunderClan." Blueheart replied smoothly. "There's something in the stream making the fish sick and we came down here to check it." "That's your problem! Not ours!" A ginger she-cat spat from the other side of the bank in rage. I could hear Bluepaw snarl quietly behind me, and another warrior quickly reprimanded the feisty she-cat. "Shush, Moustail." Blueheart turned to me. "We've figured out what's wrong with the stream. We haven't had enough time to check, but hopefully there isn't anymore trash in the stream. Go back to camp and alert Clearstar and the others." "What is that?" A ThunderClan tortoise-shell she-cat asked in disbelief, squinting her eyes as she wrinkled her nose at me. "It smells of fish and water! And it hardly even looks like a cat all!" At this, all ThunderClan cats turned their attention to me. "Don't listen to them." Smoothpool said. "Take Bluepaw and get to RiverClan camp as quick as you can. We'll need some backup. Now."
The ThunderClan cats were already getting to close to the side of our bank as I could see. Blueheart and Smoothpool were clearly outnumbered, but they moved in to keep the ThunderClan cats at bay. They were more skillfull than they appeared to be, darting in swiftly and delivering quick but powerful swipes to the heads and faces of the enemy. It wouldn't be late before they were overpowered, however, and I moved quickly to return to camp. "To my side, Bluepaw!" I chirped, herding him close to me, and making a quick dash towards camp. Before I could, however, I felt a sharp searing pain as the ThunderClan warrior, Mousetail, whom managed to break through Blueheart and Smoothpool's defenses, slammed into my side and clamped her jaws over my shoulder. I gave an unearthly screech of pain. I felt so helpless. I couldn't do anything to fight back. I swiped and lashed out blindly with webbed claws, only managing to catch air. Then I heard a hiss of shock as the jaws loosened their hold form my shoulder and fell away. I turned to see Bluepaw biting at Mousetail's heels now, driving her away. "Bluepaw!" I shrieked. "Run!" He now turns tail and followed me as I ran, far far away from the sounds of snarling, hissing and slashing claws.
Moments later, I was sitting in the medicine cat den. I winced. The place where the ThunderClan warrior's jaws connected and pierced through my skin still hurt. Upon arriving in camp, me and Bluepaw, still exhausted and panting for breath, told Clearstar the warriors all that happened at the stream a few moments ago. Reinforcements were sent speedily. All we could hope was that Smoothpool and Blueheart had still held their ground. Bluepaw was waiting outside, trying to poke in his head to see me, a look of worry on his face. "She'll be fine." Willowfur mumbled impatiently, blocking the entrance to the medicine den with her paws splayed wide. "Nothing to serious. Just a minor wound and small amounts of bleeding." With that, Bluepaw, including Streamtail had been dismissed. Willowfur re-entered the medicine cat den. "Relax. It will help you more." She whispered in soothing words as she took a large-leafed plant from the corner of the den and crushed it firmly in between her teeth, chewing it to a pulp. She then took the remnant of the leaf, spreading it all over my shoulder gently. I flinched as she applied the herbs. It had stung, but the after effect was soothing. It made my bite-mark hurt a lot less than it did a couple of heartbeats ago. "That's better now, isn't it?" Mousepounce chirped up beside me. "Yes." I mumbled, feeling relaxed. I didn't know why, but something about the medicine cat den soothed something inside me. And I suddenly realized- maybe I didn't want the life of a warrior, but as a medicine cat helper instead? But the idea still all seemed so strange and bizarre to me. Maybe the life of a medicine cat wasn't for me? If I did train under Willowfur, I would still have a lot to learn. And the idea of possibly being responsible for the life of another cat made me feel sick to my stomach. What would I do?

- Learn more about the life of a medicine cat apprentice, and see if you could try
I turn to Willowfur. "What's it like to be a medicine cat?" I ask curiously. She turned to me with a stiff stare. "In my opinion, It's quite exciting and fun, despite the fact you're constantly healing scratches, sicknesses and infections. To me, being here in this den surrounded by the sharp, sweet smell of herbs is better than running about, fighting other warriors and getting your throat practically clawed open. The life of a medicine cat is a great work and absolute honor." She gestures to her former apprentice. "Even Mouspounce can tell you that!" "Tell you what?" Mousepounce asked, clearly startled at the mention of her name. She dropped her bundle of marigold, eyes wide. "Nothin' dear, just telling Weaslepaw about the medicine life. Tell me, Mousepounce, do you enjoy being a medicine cat?" "Of course I do!" Mousepounce exclaimed. "But..." I began protested. "Is it hard or pressurizing when you're required to heal someone?" I asked, more frantic now. "What if I try healing some cat and they die on me!?" "Oh dear.." Willowfur laughed silently. "It's never that stressful. The clans and the forest are at peace nowdays. The chance of a warrior coming back wounded or injured by a warrior or a twoleg, dog, snake or whatever is highly unlikely. There's not a lot of scenarios anymore where warriors can die. When they come to the medicine den, it's usually a wound, an upset stomach, or coughing. But things like greencough, whitecough and allergies? They're just one of the things you may worry about. The chances of a warrior dying on you would be as slim as a reed of grass." Willowfur bent down to lick me. "Don't worry, even if one of the patients do die on you, you'll have to remember it's not your fault and you'd already done all you could to help."
By then, I already made up my mind.
I emerged from the medicine cat den, my shoulder feeling much better now. "Bluepaw," I said. "I think I want to become a medicine cat apprentice." "No way!" He hissed in utter disbelief. "You can't! You don't want to be cooped up in a boring den all day healing scratches and cuts. Who's going to be with me when I go on my adventures to protect RiverClan?" "The duty of a medicine cat is just as important of any warrior; maybe even more." I snapped. Then my voice softened. "I'll still see you Bluepaw, sometimes. Maybe I'll go on some more adventures with you while I'm a medicine cat apprentice. Who knows." I forced a barking laugh. I covered my mouth in surprise with my webbed feet at the sound. Bluepaw just stared at me like I grew two heads. "You made that noise?" He asked incredulously. "You sound like those dogs Streamtail told us about!" "I promise I'm not a dog!" I chirped, heat rising to my cheeks. I knew I wasn't like the others, but I wasn't a dog.
But then again, I didn't exactly feel like a cat either.
"Whatever, Rivercat." Bluepaw smirked. "Either way, if you're going to become a medicine cat apprentice, might as well tell Streamtail, right?" "Sure." I muttered, my previous embarrassment now forgotten. "Let's go." I murmured, and led the way towards the nursery.
Streamtail was still snoring when we awoke her. "What is it..?" She snuffled, groggy and disorientated. She was clearly annoyed that we had awoken her so late. "Streamtail!" I chirped up excitedly. "I've decided!" "Decided what?" She asked, her annoyance replaced with hints of curiosity. "I think I want to become a medicine cat apprentice." She now looked genuinely surprised. "You do now? What made you decide that?" "I'm not sure. It just felt right to me. Like an urge pulling..." "I'm sure you made the right choice then." She smiled and gave a tired yawn. "May StarClan bless you and guide your path." Streamtail said, laying her tail on one of my webbed paws. "If you feel it is the right thing to do, then go ahead and go for it."
Me and Bluepaw nodded silently, then turned to return to the apprentice den and rest. As I lay my head down and closed my eyes, drifting off as my eyelids grew heavy and dropped, I wondered...
-Skip to morning and tell Clearstar about your choice of becoming a medicine cat apprentice -Dream about something that could be important and relevant to your future! -Skip to morning and begin your usual morning day with chores. Put off your decision at least for a little while.
