{Five Moons Later}
Owlkit was woken up by a nudge from Mother. "Come on you two, wake up." Her soft voice spoke as she tried to wake the two kits. Owlkit managed to his feet. "You know what today is sweeties?" She purred as they stood, "Today we become apprentices!" Canyonkit shouted. The once sleeping kits looked at her with unamused stares. "Heh, sorry." She lowered her head in apology. Mother chuckled, "Yes dear, today you're gonna become apprentices." The two kits meowed with joy. "When are we going?" Owlkit asked with wide eyes. "Whenever Spiderstar calls a meeting, Owlkit. It'll require some patience."
After a few moments a meeting was called, and Owlkit was standing on the highrock, waiting for his ceremony. Spiderstar began, "Owlkit, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to be apprenticed." Owlkit looked up at the black tom with wide eyes. Who would his mentor be? "From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Owlpaw." He could hear his Mother whispering to his sister in the distance. "Your mentor will be Briarfur. I hope Briarfur passes down all he knows on to you." Soon after, Spiderstar called up the tom. He had large muscles, and was much bigger then any cat he had ever seen. He had a brown coat, along with dark brown stripes that reminded him of his self. This gave him another question. Would he like me? Would he be impressed? The upcoming questions frightened the new Owlpaw. He was too busy thinking to pay attention to the leader's words anymore. After a minute or two, the toms touched noses as the clan shouted Owlpaw's new name. His sister was soon called up, and had the same routine. Her mentor was Lionroar, as she had wished for in youth.
"Mom, whose mentor is better?" Canyonpaw meowed. "Their both really good cats, Canyonpaw." Mother replied back. "Why don't you two go greet your new companions?" Mother asked. "Because, they might have gone of to rest- or something..." Owlpaw replied back. Mother chuckled, and licked her kit's back. "Well, Im going to get some rest myself. Remember, you two sleep in the apprentice den tonight!" "We know mom." They shouted back as Mother padded towards her resting place.
