Hello! I'm Skyline, and I have a story about the cat I play in this game! I started playing it a long time ago, but never got involved with the forums, but last night I had a dream about the game and I thought that it would be fun to write a story based off it!
Even though this cat is named Skyline, he's not entirely a self-insert. We don't think totally alike, but we're sharing that name!
If you have suggestions for characters that could be added, feel free to let me know! I may not add every suggestion, but it could still be fun! Give me a name and a personality and maybe a rank? And a backstory? That would rule c:
This'll update for a short amount of time as soon as I write out the updates, but after I get going I'll probably space them out better.
Cast:
Skyline, a dark blue tom with bright yellow eyes and dreams of starting his own Clan. He spent many moons in ThunderClan before striking off on his own.
Flight, a calico she-cat. A rouge, she is checking out Skyline's makeshift Clan on a trial basis. She has moderate knowledge of herb lore and healing, which makes her invaluable.
Ivy, a ginger she-cat. Sister to Shade.
Shade, a light gray tom. Brother to Ivy.

Skyline began his life as a kittypet, well-loved in a house on the edge of the forest. His mother was named Lily, and his two siblings were named Little One and Sunshine. As lives go, his was very comfortable. But, as happens with most kittypets, the time soon came when Skyline had to be separated from his family. Unlike most kittypets, it didn't happen by being adopted out; instead, his sister Sunshine hatched a brilliant plan: run away, so they would never need to be apart.
Skyline loved this plan. He never wanted to be apart from his family. But Little One, his brother, didn't want to risk it. "It's dangerous in the forest!" Little One had protested. "You've heard the stories, too--there are wild cats who eat housecats like us for breakfast!"
But Sunshine was undeterred; she had always been the most daring of the three, and the threat of being eaten was never a deterrent. She lived for the adventure, and relished the idea of danger. Her personality was so strong, Skyline couldn't help but go with her when she ran away. But family still meant the most to him, and when he looked back to see the figure of his brother, staring forlornly at them, he felt a pang of regret. He never wanted to hurt his family, but he couldn't help but realize that running away could hurt just as much as being permanently separated.
Skyline didn't know if he'd made the right choice, but it was too late to turn back. He and Sunshine stole into the forest, and he never saw Little One or his mother again.
Only a few days after this, however, Skyline and Sunshine had a falling-out. Sunshine noticed Skyline's reluctance, and needled him until he snapped at her and ran off on his own. When he realized that he was alone, he tried to go back, but he couldn't find Sunshine.
Much time passed. Skyline joined a Clan in that time, ThunderClan, but he left it as soon as he thought he could fend for himself. But the unity of the Clan stuck in his head, reminding him of how he wished he and his sister had stayed, and an idea came into his head: he could build his own base camp, and he could gather his own group of cats, and together they could help each other stay alive in this unforgiving forest. It was a grandiose dream, but Skyline was determined to get it done. He had no concept of the cruelness of the world, and so he hunted down brambles and an appropriate space and started building.
And thus the story of Skyline and his makeshift Clan begins.

Greenleaf was almost over, and Skyline had finally finished building the perfect configuration of barriers to imitate a Clan camp. Now, he thought, he could finally begin to search for others, for those like-minded cats he knew were out there. And, hopefully, he would find his own family as well. Best case scenario, he thought, Sunshine came back, and he had a home for his family again. He had no hope of seeing his brother again, but his sister was out here somewhere, so it was possible.
This, Skyline had recognized when he first conceived his plan, was the appeal of a Clan: safety in numbers, family nearby. This is what he had been searching for his entire life, and now he had the means to make it happen. However, as he put that last bramble in place, wincing quietly as his claw snagged once again, he finally realized the dryness of his throat and the ache in his belly. He had gotten so carried away with constructing this camp that he had forgotten a simple fact: his body needed sustenance to function.
That had to take priority, before Greenleaf ended; his paws ached, and he likely couldn't hunt for a long time. While prey was still plentiful, he had to gather some, and store it for the long seasons ahead. He knew the sorts of animals that lived around here, and what he could eat. He could only hope his paws lasted him long enough to catch any of it.
He had purposefully built the walls with four entrances, and while he knew it made the camp less defended, he liked the convenience of it. He struck out to the south, knowing that there he would find plenty of birds to chase until he caught something. The rumbling in his stomach drove him to pick up the pace, despite the ache in his feet, and he was off.
After several hours of hunting, Skyline managed to track down a sizeable amount of food--enough, at least, to feed him for a short while. It wouldn't last, especially if any other cats showed up, but for now it was good enough.
He patched closed one of the entrances, leaving only the tiniest hole, because he had spotted a WindClan patrol and gotten spooked. He couldn't lose that which he had managed to get so far; he refused to.
Soon, he hoped, he would find another cat, another member of this makeshift Clan, and then he could have some help hunting and constructing. Most of all, he decided, he needed a medicine cat; it was too easy to get injured, and Skyline had no knowledge of any herbs. For now, though, he remained alone. He did not like how quiet it was, with only the crickets to sing him to sleep and the stars blinking overhead.
"Soon," he whispered to himself, more a promise than a wish. Soon, he would have company.
Many days later, well into leaf-fall, Skyline came across another cat.
"Who are you?" he had asked, unguarded and purely curious. She had not been so open.
"You first," she had challenged, and he shrugged and complied. There was no reason to force an issue and get into an argument.
"Alright," he had nodded politely. "My name is Skyline."
A few moments passed, and she sighed. "Flight," she replied. "That's my name."
Skyline smiled. "It's nice to meet you," he told her, and she looked at him with guarded suspicion in her eyes.
"Are you a Clan cat?" she asked. "You don't seem like one."
Skyline paused a moment. "Well," he said, "not really. I used to be, but now..." he shrugged. "I'm looking for cats to join something of a Clan of my own."
Flight narrowed her eyes, and Skyline wondered if that was a warning of impending atttack. She certainly didn't look convinced, so he found himself pleasantly surprised when she asked, "is that an invitation?"
Skyline laughed, just a bit nervous. "I suppose it could be," he said. "I don't even know you, though, so if you don't want to..."
She chuckled. "This is true," she said, and then, "I'll take a look, at least. Do you have anybody else?"
"Nope," Skyline replied cheerfully. "You're the first one who's even listened to me. It's nice to meet you, Flight."
"We'll see," she says, with a smile, and Skyline starts leading her toward home.
Back at home, the two have another conversation.
"Wow," Flight says, as she slips through the thicket barrier into the camp. "You built this?"
"Yeah," Skyline replies, proud. "Isn't it nice? I worked on it for days."
"It shows," Flight says, and it's a genuine compliment; Skyline can practically feel the pride buzzing in his paws.
He shows her around, pointing out spaces where cats of different roles would sleep. Flight stops him halfway through describing the warriors' den.
"Are you sure you aren't a Clan cat?" she asks, suspicion in her voice, and Skyline shakes his head.
"I lived with one for awhile," he says, "but I left. It wasn't quite right for me, I think."
Flight regards him carefully, then nods. "I suppose that explains it." And she moves on. Skyline huffs, a breath of relief; he was worried that the first cat he'd met out here was about to leave him behind anyway.
They approached the medicine den--the one which Skyline had stuck a few easy to recognize medicinal herbs in--and Flight sniffed. "Smells like feverfew," she comments, and Skyline's eyes go wide.
"You know herbs?" he asks in surprise, and she looks at him, raising her chin.
"Of course I know herbs," she says, the faintest note of pride in her voice. "No self-respecting cat goes anywhere without knowing something, and mine just happens to be herb lore."
"That's fantastic!" Skyline exclaims. "You have to stay!"
Flight snorts. "I don't have to do anything. But..." she looks around the den. "It looks cozy enough. I'll stick around for a bit, but it's worth warning you:" she pauses, then says, "I am not a member of a Clan because I don't like how they work, alright? If this is going to work like a regular Clan, I won't be staying."
Skyline nods seriously. "We can live by our own rules," he says, and Flight looks satisfied.
"Good," she says, and Skyline leaves her there to organize it to her own liking.
