Well, they have different views as you. Even if you both have a religion, the two views of the religion may be completely different, and could cause the two to clash. Both also may have a strong dedication to their own religions, and if one wants to share their religion with the other because they feel it will make them happier or at least want their partner to try it out (because having two different religions within a house is quite complicated, in all honesty... if the two had similar views or even the same religion, then it would be easier) and then because they both have strong dedication, one feels sort of threatened or will not change their views...
In a nutshell, it's just very complicated and hard to balance in a relationship.

If you're in a relationship with anyone who doesn't share your beliefs, then they might influence you. The beliefs of the two people inside the relationship would likely contradict each other, and if one tries to convince the other, then that could result in an argument of some type. It just doesn't make a healthy relationship, in the long run.

All my questions are mainly just picking out hard-to-believe stuff from the bible >^< I wrote a lot (I'm really sorry for ranting, and by a lot i mean a lot, so i split it into bite sized chunks)
Okay, so here's the first one; In Genesis, as in the very beginning and the creation, Adam and Eve were the first humans. Were they the only humans? It's kind of hard to believe that 2 people populated the whole Earth (now with 7 billion people). If they did, the world would be brimming with genetic diseases and stuff. I recall Adam and Eve's third son Seth having children- but who did he have children with? Is it safe to assume that Adam and Eve were not the only humans out there, and that they were only the first (who were chosen by God to act as his people)?
Very similar to that topic is the flood and Noah. Did the flood consume the whole of Earth? Again, it's extremely unbelievable that all the animals of the Earth could fit in one ark. I know this ark was huge, but even then, would it be possible? Another thing is the generation after Noah. His sons brought their wives onto the boat with them, but what about their sons? Noah's grandchildren? Who would they marry? How could they pass on their genes to repopulate the whole Earth?
Some people argue that the flood didn't consume the whole of earth, and that it was just the Mesopotamia area. It could actually work, but God constantly refers to the flood as going over the world. Of course he could have meant their world, because the world they knew of only stretched as far as Mesopotamia, but I find it unlikely that God, who is the greatest being in the whole universe would refer to the tiny area as 'the whole world'.
Then again, both of these questions could be answered with the simple "incest" but I remember the Bible saying something about forbidding love between a brother and a sister- I'm pretty sure cousins or other relatives were a traditional thing but I don't ever remember incest being allowed.
Another thing that is completely unrelated to what I've been talking about earlier, concerns Melchizedek. He's been mentioned only few times (In Hebrews and Genesis if my memory is correct) and not much is known about him. We do know however that - He has no genealogy (no father or mother (or at least recorded father or mother) - Abraham offered him 1/10 of everything he had - Jesus was stated to be a priest "In the order of Melchizedek" - He was known as "King of Salem", 'Salem' meaning 'Jerusalem' so basically "King of Jerusalem" (it's interesting because that is the only time the name 'Salum' was used instead of 'Jerusalem' - Priest of Most High God
Well, I found this really intriguing. I had never heard the name Melchizedek so I did a google search, with this information and numerous bible references popping up. What's more interesting, is that many people believe Melchizedek is a pre-incarnation of Jesus. To be honest, it could actually be true. The Bible doesn't provide much info into who this Melchizedek guy is so I myself can't come onto a conclusion, but if you look at it, it could actually work. I asked a few people in real life about this, and most of them had differing opinions. So I just wanted to see what people here thought
Thank you if you took the time to read the whole thing! Again, I'm sorry for ranting but my whole life I've kinda been forced to be a Christian, and while I do believe the most of it, I can't say I'm a strong follower. I have a lot of doubts and whenever I ask my parents it more or less ends in my question not being answered and them forcing me into it. I don't often believe what I don't understand, so before I can consider myself a Christian I'd like to understand everything (or at least most >3< let's not be too ambitious) I can from the Bible. I have a lot more questions, but I don't want to overload this thread with them.

potato_empire- u have many good questions and i am not sure how to answer all of them. All i can say is forget the details and find a bond between you and god. Asking questions is a good thing so i will give my opinions on your questions.
1. God is God and he has total power so why cant he just bless Adam and Eve with a child but not make it incesed as a "adopted" kid or something.
2. Noah brought more than family he brought all his family's family so their children easily could have married someone from the other side of the "family"
3. all i know is there is only one Jesus and Melchizedek was probably just not very important.
these are my just opinions, and all i have to say God is all powerful he can do and change what ever he wants.

I'm going to try to add my own input with the questions.
1. I mean, I don't really see how it's hard to believe. There were two people created, one woman and man, and naturally had children, and I believe God made another woman for Seth because no incest and whatnot... I really think he made another partner Seth so that they could populate without inter-relations, and after a few families I think that could really grow into a big population. Honestly it's not too unlikely.
2. Again, I don't see this as being too unlikely either. The earth has undergone periods of total heat and desolation, and total cold and ice; Why not being completely consumed with water? With the ark, we're not sure exactly how many animals there really were back then. I'm sure there was a way all the animals, two for each animal, would be able to fit. If you're still skeptical there really isn't anything I can do. This is what happened, and I'm not going to question how. And don't worry about the incest thing. We don't know for sure how it worked out, but I'm sure there was something that happened that didn't involve incest.
3. Here's the thing... there could not be a pre-incarnation of Jesus. There can only be one of him, ever, because of God's plan... God had one son, it's mentioned several, several times in the bible, and to be honest, I'm not sure how a 'pre-incarnation' could actually work. I don't mean to be rude. Perhaps Melchizedek was just a very important guy who was a priest and not too much is stated about him. People will speculate all sorts of things and conspiracies and whatnot... a lot of them are totally crazy to be honest, so I just try to ignore them. I mean, we have no record of who Paul's mother and father were, but we know he had them, because... well, if not... yeah. The thing is, we believe that Jesus is the true son of God, the only son, and he died for our sins. What would be the point in making a pre-incarnation that didn't actually do what God had set as purpose for his only son? And then there's that whole thing of having a SECOND MARY to be completely pure and saying "yes" to God's will and having a son through the Spirit... You can't have a second Mary. I really believe a pre-incarnation is not... very at all possible, considering everything we know about what had to happen with Mary and Jesus and God's plan.
I'm sorry if I seemed pushy in this. I hope I helped.
