This story is from my point of view (Me playing WC:UT). The character I am playing is Red, a brown rogue with amber eyes who lives in Shadowclan territory. I'll try to write more daily. Please give me feedback in the comments, it helps me improve!

Ugh, I'm so bored, I thought. Oh, I know! I'll play WC:UT! I heard there's been a new update! I double clicked the icon on my taskbar and the loading screen appeared. On the start screen, a changelog was displayed:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update V16
Small changes have been made to the seasons and the day/night cycle.
Eternal night event? That sounded weird. I searched the forums for more information, but nothing came up. The changelog had said
it was very rare, so I wasn't particularly concerned. I went back to the game.
Oh shoot!
I remembered that now the game was in V16, so my old save files wouldn't work. I could carry them over, but I didn't mind creating a new cat. I checked the "skip tutorial" box and created a rogue. What shall I name him? I wondered. Oh, how about Red?
Eager to start, I created Red the rogue. I walked him into the heart of Shadowclan territory and started to build a small camp, just for him. It was halfway through that I noticed there was snow on the ground. Wow! I got lucky! I was so absorbed in playing that I didn't notice my game started in Leaf-bare!
I smiled to myself, impressed with what I thought was good luck. Little did I know, there was more bad luck to come.
Chapter 2
The sun was setting. The new sky animations were so pretty! When the stars came out, I let out a little gasp of excitement.
I walked Red over to his den and clicked the "sleep" button. A dialogue box popped up out of nowhere:
---------------------------------------------------
Enviroment:
You can't sleep now, something is happening.
---------------------------------------------------
Something good, I hope! I'll just work on the camp while I wait for the sun to come up.
Right before the sun was supposed to come up, another dialogue box popped up
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Enviroment:
Start an Eternal Night event?
|Yes| No
The highlighted option will be automatically selected in 3 seconds
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The dialogue box closed before I could click no.......
Well, it doesn't take a genius to find out what "eternal night" means.
The sun never did come up. But the real surprises were about to come.....
It was 7:00 am when the first one appeared.
Chapter 3
I was trying to decide what to do when I saw a white figure out of the corner of my eye. Oh, it's a white cat. I surmised. But something was wrong with it.... it looked... transparent.
Maybe its a hidden feature... Starclan cats!
As if the cat could read my mind, a dialogue box popped up
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ghost cat #1:
Oh, you're smart! I am a spirit, but I'm not Starclan.
I am a ghost invader, and I am just the first.
Welcome to the Eternal Night
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay. That was a little creepy. Did a pixelated cat really just read my mind? Astounded, I tried to communicate with it again.
Can you read my mind?
Okay, I know you're probably laughing at me right now, but a second later, as I predicted, a dialogue box popped up.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ghost cat #1:
Yes, I can read my mind, and so can my fellow invaders. Oh, here
they come now!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Within a minute, probably close to 50 other cats appeared on the screen. They started to march towards Red and crowded around him. Not wanting to wake my parents, I tried to suppress my scream to a mere shriek.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ghost cat #25
Scared yet?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 4
It only got scarier from there. A Shadowclan patrol walked into the area, only to be chased out by the ghost cats, bleeding with fur missing. I realized that there was nothing I could do, other then barricade Red in a square of thickets and watch all the cats walk into the tile run out mangled and spurting blood. The number of ghost cats was growing by the minute, but then I saw a flash of orange fur.
Oh no, not another horrible monster!
But this cat, thankfully, seemed to be normal. I tried to communicate it by talking to it, since it didn't seem to be dead.
"Hello? What's your name? Are you here to help me?"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn:
Hello, it's me, Dawn! Don't worry, I'm your ally! If you could just let
me into your camp, I could help y-
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn was cut off as a ghost cat crossed the tile and brutally mauled her. When the ghost cat walked away, she was curled up in a little ball and bleeding all over. My only ally, dead on the ground. But then I saw her twitch, and I felt a small glimmer of hope.
It was a big risk, I know, but I ran out with the herbs I had stacked in my little camp. Knowing nothing about what they were for, I just dropped them all on her and hoped something would happen. As if by magic, she sat up.
"You're alive!" I gasped in astonishment.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn:
Yes, but we better get back in your camp, quick. The zombie cats
will be here soon, and they're worse.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Zombie cats?" I groaned. Not wanting to take any more risks, I led Dawn into the camp and blocked up all the entrances. The little prey pile I had managed to grab before the invasion started was dwindling. Just then, another ghost cat spoke.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ghost cat #45:
Invasion? No no, this is an apocalypse.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 5:
Loud moaning sounds came through my speakers. I quickly donned my headphones and plugged them in. There was a sort of staticky sound in the background, and the music was reduced to one harsh note, playing over and over again.
Oh, come on, the last thing I need is some kind of Slender-cat!
The loud moaning had started up again and I looked around, not particularly surprised to see a zombie cat in the far corner of the screen.
What next?
Then, the whole screen went black.
"Dawn! What happened?"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn:
It just got darker. We should try to make a fire of some sort.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"A fire! Why didn't I think of that?"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn:
Don't worry about that, just find me some sticks.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I walked around pressing enter until I got a stick in my inventory.
Making fires must be a new feature that comes with the eternal night event.
I went back to Dawn with the sticks.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn:
Great, now rub some together and throw them on these leaves
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I obeyed her and soon there was a small fire in the middle of the camp. It threw light on the camp walls, illuminating the ghost invaders and zombie cats trying to get in.
"So Dawn," I queried. "How do you know so much about Eternal Nights?"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn:
I've been through one before. I was the only cat who survived.
But don't worry, we'll be just fine.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Does it ever end? I mean I know it's an ETERNAL night, but there must be SOME end to it, right?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn:
Oh sure, it ends. You just have to defeat all them first. And don't
think that's an easy task, because there's more coming
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What kinds of monsters are going to come next?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn:
Oh, there's skeleton-cats, bat-cats, Slender-cats, demon-cats,
worm-cats, dragon-cats, spider-cats, the occasional hairless cat,
and banshee cats. Lots and lots of banshee cats.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I groaned. How were we going to kill ALL of them.
Just then, the piercing wail of what must have been a banshee cat split the air and I slammed my volume key until the volume was down to half of what it was. This was impossible. I'd be playing WC:UT for the next three years before anything was back to normal!

Small changes have been made to the seasons and the day/night cycle.
- In Newleaf, flowers will grow
- In Greenleaf, locusts will appear and make noise
- In Leaf-fall, leaves will fall from the trees.
- In Leaf-bare, there is a chance that a lump of snow will fall on your cat's head if you walk under a tree
- Now when the sun sets/rises, an animation in the sky will be displayed
- The sky is now visible
- At night, stars and a moon will appear in the sky
- Nighttime is now darker
- There is a rare chance that a new save file will start in Leaf-bare.
- There is a much rarer chance that an 'eternal night' event will begin in Leaf-bare
