so uh moogle said i could host it this year...
So yes! Halloween Masquerade, 2016 edition! I'm fairly certain the vast majority of you know how to go about playing it by now, but just in case, here are the rules (most of which are shamelessly copy-pasted from last year's thread, haha...).
Preface your screen name with a [MASKED] so that everyone knows the account is participating in the event. Once someone has successfully guessed your true identity, change it to [UNMASKED] (this just makes it easier for me to keep track of). Signatures work too, just say somewhere on the account whether you've been identified or not.
October 24th, the day before the event, is the day everyone makes their masked accounts. Feel free to also use this day to post on various places on the forum as well. As for account deletion, after the 31st of October I expect accounts to be deleted.
Contact me about who you'll be masked as. Of course, we wouldn't want anyone figuring out your identity, so PM-ing me is the best way to go about this. I myself will most likely be in costume, but I won't be guessing who anyone is. Guest members can email me at my address darkgluttony@gmail.com (I made this account in like 2011 shut up) with their costumes. Please note that only people who have entered the event + have a costume can guess who is who.
All posts on the account of your masked characters should be in character. Having two browsers open to be logged in on both your main and your masked account works well to avoid suspicion.
Throughout the week, try to drop hints as to your true identity. For example,
Please keep your in-character posts in Off Topic Discussions and Off Topic Forum Games for the most part.
All characters must be fictional. Frankly, they can be from anything you want (including OCs), however no real people. If you have any questions on if your character is doable, just add a footnote at the end of your PM or somethin'.
You can have your account around if you've been guessed before the event has ended (i.e. if I was guessed on October 28th, I could still keep my masked account around, I'd just have to delete it November 1st).
I'm probably not gonna do prizes since I'm not very artistically talented and lack a tablet, so...
The guessing thread will go up on the 24th, but remember, no guessing until the 25th.

For instance, one year I was Nepeta Leijon from Homestuck, and had I not been unmasked on day two, I would have started using cat puns on my regular account. Please keep your in-character posts in Off Topic Discussions and Off Topic Forum Games for the most part.
