「 So I refuse
To apologize for who I am
And I refuse
To ever let somebody say I can't 」
Ok, so, I've decided to share the challenge I made for myself with you all so you can have fun with it! It's pretty much the StarClan's mercy challenge, created by ♣Gingernose, so most credits go to them. I don't know if they are still active, but if they're reading this they can lock this thread if they like, since I didn't ask premission before creating it. The challenge is a bit different and tweaked to make it harder, a bit more realistic and fun. The challenge itself is already a lot of fun, but I like playing my own version of it.
The Challenge
If you want to play it, I advise you to read the StarClan's mercy challenge first to understand what the backstory is, main rules, etc.

Done that? Okay, for this Challenge you're gonna need a few things. You'll see why later.
Things you need:
- Random.org
- A word document, notebook, or something like that where you can write things down and easily find them.
How to start:
First off, start the game and use a new file. If you want you can unlock some pelts as a Warrior if you want. Choose whatever pelt and name you want. The name has to be a warrior name.
Next, go to your notebook and write about your character.
My character is named Gingertail, so I write down things like:
Name: Gingertail
Age: 48 Moons
Gender: Female
Rank: Deputy
Family: N/A
Kits: N/A
Mate: N/A
Those 6 things should be included in your form. They'll be important later on. If you wish, you can add a picture, a personality, looks and a backstory for your cat too and get creative and detailed. But that's all completely up to you.
Now that you've got that written down, go back to your game and start building your camp!
Tip: While working on your camp, check if Coco is at fourtrees everyday. If he is, you can change your name to ''___star'', and add 9 lives to your form. Of course if you die, you lose a life. If you die before your camp is finished, you lose the challenge.
Adding cats
Now that your camp is done, it's time to add some kitties. In the original StarClan's mercy Challenge, I believe you could add cats whenever you want. In this challenge - that's forbidden! All cats must be Clanborn. But since you have to start /somewhere/, you get to add 6 random kittens! Make them 3 females and 3 males. It'll be useful later on.
As soon as you've got your 6 kitties, you get to roll the event list every 2nd day at the Moonpool.
Name the kits whatever you like, and for every kitten that's added, write out a form. Make sure they're not family.
The point behind this is that you can age them up. Every new season, add a moon to their age. Once they are apprentices, they can start falling in love. I've added the events ''Two cats become mates'' ''A couple breaks up'' and ''A couple gets kittens''.
If you roll the event ''two cats become mates'', pick two cats that become mates. Write in their form that they're mates.
If you roll the event ''a couple breaks up'' then break them up again.
If you roll the event ''a couple gets kittens'' you get to add new kittens! (Only if you have two cats being mates though) Roll from 1 - 6 in random.org to see how many you may add. Make sure to write down who's their mom, dad, siblings etc in their form. This is to prevent you from accidentally making two siblings mates later on etc. Plus it's fun to see family trees grow, right?
The fun behind the challenge is that it's really customizable - you can add more events like forbidden love and getting half-clan kittens, etc. You can write backstories for cats about their lives and make it really dramatic and stuff. You can get really creative with it!
Ages
I usually have it set up like this:
0 - 6 Moons: Kit
6 - 12 Moons: New Warrior
24 - 48 Moons: Warrior
60 - 72: Senior Warrior
72+ Elder
1 season = 1 moon.
I know that 1 season does not equal one moon, but since the gatherings are technically every moon I like it this way. Feel free to change it if you're too impatient to wait for the kits to grow up, though.
Medicine Cats
So I've decided that it was WAY too easy to get a medicine cat. So I added a new event: ''a kitten decides that they want to be a medicine cat when they grow up.'' Only when you roll it, you can move them to the medicine's den. Or if you already have a medicine cat, you can make them their new apprentice.
Hunting
Hunting is incredibly easy in WC:UT since you can basically hunt all day and miss as many times as you want!
Let's make that a bit more difficult.
Every day if you want to hunt, you have to roll between 1 - 10 to see how many chances you get.
For example, you roll 2. You start hunting, see a squirrel but it escapes. Now you only have one chance left. This time you catch a squirrel. You take it back to your camp and hunting is over for the day.
DO NOT GET KITS TO HUNT FOR YOU! That's just being lazy, you have to follow the Warrior Code - a real leader wouldn't take kits out randomly either. You can get apprentices and warriors to do it though.
In leaf-fall, prey starts being more scarce. Roll between 1 - 5.
No hunting in Leafbare at all!
Territory
The StarClan's mercy challenge has this rule about not placing your camp on an edge tile.
This is so you have one tile north, one west, one south and one east. Mark your borders with buried things and patrol them each day. If there's a fight - FIGHT! Don't run away. If you die, or do run away, you lose that piece of territory until you fight for it and win.
I don't think the StarClan's mercy challenge ever said anything about claiming more territory. In my version of this Challenge, I like to allow it. Feel free to take over the forest my evil kitties.
Continuing
So eventually your leader kitty is going to reach the age of 72 Moons, right? They technically have to move to the Elder's den but you can choose to ignore that if you wish.
I like to play with Generations. So if your leader dies or just becomes too old, you can play as your deputy! Or as your kit. Or a medicine cat. Or maybe even as one of your Warriors if you wish! Have fun.
You lose the challenge if you run out of cats. If you have only one left, consider yourself screwed. They have to mate with another cat to get kittens. They CAN mate with you as a leader, if they're the opposite sex.
There's no way to win the challenge. The point is to have fun, lead your Clan, make up fun stories about the events that happen and the lives of your cats, take over the forest if you want, see your Clan change as generations go by, claim and lose territory, and most importantly have fun!
