WC:UT Game FAQ: Answers to the questions asked hundred times

So first a little clarification: I actually know that, as I'm not the forum admin or a FalconStar's Helper, this is normally not my job so please don't take this as a mark of extreme vanity or disrespect towards the forum staff, because it is not what I wanted this thread to be. I just thought we lacked a FAQ about the game, as the already-existing FAQ was more about Forum questions.
So, the FAQ is organized in 4 parts:
1) General questions
2) Clan life
3) Rogue life
4) Pelts
1) GENERAL QUESTIONS
Why can't I download the game ?
That's a problem which is encountered frequently. It is generally fixed by disabling the antivirus protection, downloading the game, then re-enabling the protection, because the anivirus often prevents the download, though the game hasn't go any virus.
Is there a Mac version ?
The game is basically programmed to run on Windows, but a beta Mac version exists, for this, check the following link : untoldtales.proboards.com/thread/18863/beta-play-warrior-untold-tales
Will there be a V16 ?
Actually, Falconstar has no plans on updating Warrior Cats:Untold Tales.
Is it possible to play as a Starclan/Dark Forest/Skyclan/Bloodclan cat ?
Unfortunately, these Clans are not avaliable to play. However, Bloodclan NPCs can be met as a Kittypet.
How do I save?
If you are in a Clan, talk to the leader, then hit Spacebar to save. If you are a rogue, go to your den and click the Save that appears on the upright corner of the screen. If you are a Kittypet, talk to George and hit backspace. If you have saved, but the game doesn't load the save file, check the Save file won't load thread : untoldtales.proboards.com/thread/9194/save-file-load
Having more than one kit ?
It is not possible to have several kits with the same mate. The only way is to change of Clan, so you can have another kit, with another mate.
2) CLAN LIFE
How do I get a mate and kit ?
In a Clan, there are four mate-able cats, two males (blue Clan symbol) and two females (pink Clan symbol). You can be mates only with cats of the opposite gender. Then give them LOTS of gifts. The apples have no effect, the herbs are slightly effective, the smooth stones aren't really effective, the prey are effective, and the Shiny things are very effective. As you will give them gifts, the cat will say different things, and end up by asking you to be their mate. At that time, you can accept by hitting Spacebar.
To get a kit, he method is almost the same. Give your mate at least three gifts per day (prey and shiny things preferred), then go to sleep every night between 9:00 and 10:00 pm wih hunger at « Stuffed » and thirst at « Quenched ». if, and only if you do that, a kit might be born when you wake up ! However, this can't work the first two days after getting a mate.
Are there Gatherings ?
Yes, Gaherings take place the first day of each season a the Fourtrees. You will earn some experience by visiting a Gathering.
Can I recieve omens from Starclan ?
No, it is not possible. However, there is the Moonstone where you can go to « visit » Starclan. Starclan can give you experience, reputation, prey, a Bonus Coin, or heal you to full HP as a gift when you visit them. When you recieve a gift from Starclan, you will have to wait 15-16 game days before being able to recieve another.
How do I get an apprentice ? How do I train them ?
To get an apprentice, go to the Bonus Shop, while having two Bonus Coins, and click the « Become Mentor » button. Then, click the button on the upright corner to summon your apprentice. To make them be come a warrior, you must fill the hunting and fighting bars. The more the bars will be filled, the more skilled the apprentice will become. When the two bars are completely filled, the apprentice grows to warrior size and their name suffix changes. They'll become even more skilled when they are graduated.
To fill the hunting (green) bar, start hunting and, when you see a prey, target it and let your apprentice try to catch it. The bar will be filled each time they pounce, even if they miss the prey.
To fill the fighting (red) bar, take your apprentice to a battle. Each time they will claw at an enemy, the fighting bar will be filled. Just be careful, because apprentices have lower life than warriors, so they can easily get killed.
How do I become a Kittypet ?
To become a Kittypet, you first must find Ember the Kittypet. She can be seen only as a Clan cat. She randomly appears at some tiles of the map (check the wiki page about her :http://warriorcatsuntoldtales.wikia.com/wiki/Ember ) or can be summoned at her summoning bell, two tiles up and two tiles left from Riverclan camp entrance. To use the summoning bell, you must spend two Bonus Coins. When you find Ember, you can talk to her and pay 40 reputation to go to the Twolegplace. There you can talk to George to become a Kittypet.
Can I become Medicine Cat/Deputy/Leader of my Clan ?
No, it is not possible. You can only become the Deputy assistant/Med Cat assistant, by completing quests from the concerned cat (10 Deputy quests or 30 Med Cat quests) and then read the sign near them and hit Backspace to pay 50 Reputation to become the assistant.
3)ROGUE LIFE
How do I make thickets ?
To make a thicket, just take three brambles in the same item slot. If you want to remove a thicket, or change its place, claw at it and it will turn into 2 brambles.
How do I find moss ?
Moss can be found by clawing at a tree. A sign will also work. Moss can be used to make dens to attract rogues, or used as a water source (walk over a piece of moss and press the drink button that appears to drink from it).
How do I attract rogues ?
To attract rogue cats for your rogue Clan, build some thickets, put some moss near it (the cats won't come if no thickets) and prey on the moss (only one prey can work, more might be more effective). Then, go to sleep every night. When you wake up, cats might have appeared in the dens you created.
How can I get a mate and kit ?
The method to get a kit is the same than in a Clan, as for the mating method, but first, you must attract a mate-able cat. You can attract only one in your camp. To attract a rogue mate, make a den with moss and prey, just like for a normal rogue, then put a shiny thing on the den (it also can work without prey, only with the shiny thing and the moss). Sleep every night, and one day, you may find a mate cat on the den you made !
How can I change the rogues of den ?
It is unfortunately impossible. If you need to change a rogue of den, you must chase them away, then attract another rogue with the same pelt color, and give them the same name, then chase the older one away.
4) PELTS
Some NPCs have pelts that aren't in the Bonus Shop, why ?
Some Riverclan and Windclan cats can have a pale-brown-and-white or black-and-white patched pelt. These pelts are unlockable as a Kittypet, by paying 200 leaves.
Some Thunderclan and Shadowclan cats have a pale brown tabby or tiger pelt. These pelts are unlockable by secret name combinations. Check the Secret pelts board in the forum to learn more.
My pelt doesn't change when I use a secret name combination, why ?
Only the top-secret name combination instantly changes your pelt color. For the others, youu will have to make a new cat, and the pelt will be unlocked.
