So, I was writing a book on Wattpad. And it got no views because no one reads Warriors fan-fictions by people who don't really exist there. So I decided that I'd have more luck here. Here goes nothing! I will probably update it every one-three days, but no guarantees!
And since this was a Wattpad fanfiction, it has a nice little cover!

Please tell me if you have any feedback, like if you'd like to see more of one character or maybe someone is becoming a Mary-Sue, anything like that! The story's direction can be influenced by your suggestions, so feel free to make some!
If you ask I can ping you each time a new chapter is added.
So far, in terms of suggestions, we have..
"Look Stormflower! Dovekit has opened her eyes!" Dovekit looked at the blurry nursery around her and scented the familiar smells of her two brothers and her mom. She saw the shape of Cliffkit and could make out his black spots, and Stonekit's gray tabby pelt and white belly. "Mom! Can we go outside?" mewled Stonekit "Stonekit, Dovekit has just opened her eyes. There is no way mom is going to let us go outside." Cliffkit said in his know-it-all manner. Stormflower rolled her eyes and shoved Cliffkit gently. "You can go outside-" Stormflower said before- "Yes!" cried Stonekit excitedly, bouncing up and down. "-on one condition. You have to get Birchwhisker to watch you." finished Stormflower as she eyed Stonekit, Dovekit, and Cliffkit. Stonekit responded first with a nod and ran out of the nursery, before Cliffkit and blurry-eyed Dovekit bounded after him.
Dovekit blinked at the sudden brightness outside the nursery. The world was blindingly white, with powder across the ground and atop the trees. She had heard her mother talk about it. It was snow. She saw a few other warriors padding around camp, but then her father's voice made her jump and spin around. "Dovekit, Cliffkit, Stonekit, what are you doing out here? I thought you had to stay in the nursery!" he exclaimed, narrowing his eyes at the kits. Stonekit opened his mouth for a sharp retort, but Dovekit brushed her tail against his mouth and he kept quiet "Stormflower said we could go outside if you watched us. Is that okay?" said Dovekit, in a sweet little voice. Birchwhisker narrowed his eyes a second more before blinking at them "Okay. But go to the nursery if you get too cold." he said seriously, casting a stern glance a Stonekit, who gave him an innocent shrug.
"Let's play clan! said Stonekit, plowing through the snow. He was almost covered in the powder, his tabby pelt flashing in the gaps. Dovekit and Cliffkit were much harder to spot, especially small Cliffkit. "Yes!" exclaimed Cliffkit "I'm the leader!" he said, but the words were barely out of his mouth when Stonekit bundled into him, no more than a flash of fur. "I'm going to be the leader!" Stonekit squeaked before they became a mewling ball of fur, rolling this way than that. Dovekit's whiskers twitched as warriors swerved and leaped to avoid them. She watched Emberstar, Gorseclaw, Icefang, and Jaytail exchange glances as they bundled into elder Twitchflower. "Can a cat walk three mouse-length without tripping over some kits?!" she exclaimed, humor showing clearly in her eyes. Stonekit and Cliffkit stopped tussling and looked up at the elder. "Sorry," whispered Cliffkit, shifting his paws. Dovekit let out a loud purr and Stonekit glared at her. Cliffkit took the chance and leaped at his brother. Dovekit smiled and walked over to Twitchflower "They're so irresponsible." she purred
"And you're not, I suppose?" Twitchflower asked, eyes glinting. "Well, um, I don't wake up every scrap of prey in the forest and disturb the whole clan, so no, I am not irresponsible," Dovekit said, giving her chest fur a few self-conscious licks. Twitchflower looked at her, surprised, then said "Cherrystorm is your kind of cat then. She was exactly like you. You should go see her." Dovekit blinked in surprise. "Me? Like Cherrystorm?" she said disbelievingly. She had never thought she was like the medicine cat. She was going to become a warrior, not a medicine cat! "You should go talk to her, Dovekit!" said Twitchflower "Um... Thanks for the chat, Twitchflower.." she said awkwardly. Twitchflower raised an eyebrow at her, opened her mouth as if she were about to talk, then shrugged and padded towards the dirtplace.
Dovekit bounded across the clearing, leaping over her siblings multiple times, before stopping in front of the medicine cat den. "Hello?" said Dovekit, her heart humming loudly in her chest. "Who is it?" she heard Cherrystorm's kind mew. "Um... It's Dovekit," she called back after a moment's hesitation. "Oh, Stormflower's she-kit. Come in!" she said cheerily. Dovekit brushed through the lichen covering the den entrance. "So, Dovekit, why did you come and see me?" she asked, looking at Dovekit "Well... um... Twitchflower sent me..." she said, shuffling her paws awkwardly. Cherrystorm blinked at her understandingly. "Okay. Would you like to see the herbs?" she said, and before Dovekit could respond, she turned and went into a little crevice in the rock. She beckoned Dovekit forward with her tail. Soon they were in a bigger opening, and the sharp tang of herbs hit her nose. She saw water trickling down into a small pool and a bundle of moss. She saw large clumps of cobwebs on the wall in various spots. She turned towards the west wall and saw a collection of sorted leaves perched in small hollowed out crevices in the wall, and to the east wall, there was lots of different coloured berries and seeds.
"Wow! There are so many different herbs!" Dovekit exclaimed. Cherrystorm snorted and looked at the kit. "If you chose to follow my path, you'll learn all about them," she said, but her eyes clouded with some distant knowledge. "Cherrystorm! Cherrystorm! Cherrystorm," Dovekit started anxiously "what's wrong?" Cherrystorm looked at her, her eyes burning intensely "The feather can float, but only with the help of the mountains and storms." she said, in an ominous voice. Dovekit was surprised by this. What. Was. Happening. She stared at Cherrystorm, but the intense gaze in her eyes was gone. "Why are you staring at me, Dovekit? It's not like I just, I don't know, sprouted wings!" she exclaimed "Anyways, you should be off. Your mother and father must be worried!" she said, and with a flick of her tail, Dovekit was gone.
Dovekit's mind was whirling. She walked out of the den towards the nursery. Birchwhisker was at the entrance, staring at her sternly "You asked me to watch you, and then you go running off?!" he shouted at her, eyes blazing with anger and worry "Don't ever scare me or your mother like that again!" he stalked off after the words were out of his mouth. Dovekit walked into the milky nursery. She was surprised to see Harestep laying down in one of the nests. Her belly was swollen with the promise of kits. They must be Nettlecloud's she thought. She shook her head to clear it. Stormflower was curled around Cliffkit and Stonekit, who were both asleep. She saw relief wash over her mother's eyes as she padded to join her siblings. She looked up at the small holes in the bramble den at the starry night sky, then curled into a ball beside Stormflower's flank. "Sleep well, my dear," whispered Stormflower. And then, after what seemed like seasons of thought and restless tossing, Dovekit drifted into a peaceful sleep.

~ Chapter Two ~
Dovekit was feeling confused. She had grown up wanting to be a normal warrior, but her strange meeting with Cherrystorm was making her uneasy. She felt that it could be an omen of some sort, and only medicine cats received those. She sighed. Harestep's kits were due today, and since Dovekit and her brothers were only three moons old, they could have fun showing the new kits around. She padded over to the medicine cat's den, to talk to Cherrystorm.
"Hello?" she mewed timidly at the lichen-covered den entrance. "It's me, Dovekit," she said. "Come in!" said a joyous muffled voice that belonged to Cherrystorm. Dovekit smiled and entered. "Hello, Dovekit." Cherrystorm meowed. "What brings you here this time?" she asked. Dovekit looked around nervously "I-I wanted to talk to you about something..." Dovekit murmured. "Yesterday, you showed me your den, remember?" she started, and Cherrystorm nodded. "Well, you started acting all weird and said 'The feather can float, but only with the help of the mountains and storms' in an ominous, spiritual voice." she continued. "Then you went back to normal. What was that about?" she asked. "I don't know.," Cherrystorm said distantly, lost in thought. Dovekit thought she heard a chorus of spiritual voices, and Cherrystorm muttered "So my apprentice has finally come... But who is it? No kits seem to match what this says. I'll wait for a further sign..." and a bunch of other odd things. Dovekit was concerned "Cherrystorm, are you alright?" she asked. Cherrystorm didn't say anything for a few heartbeats, and Dovekit was about to ask again, when she said "Yes, yes... You go back to the nursery." not even looking at Dovekit. Dovekit left, baffled.
She decided that her mother was someone she could talk to. She always made Dovekit feel better. She padded over to the nursery, and carefully walked inside. "Stormflower?" she asked. "I'm right over here, Dovekit." he mother said, turning around to meet her gaze. There was no one else in the nursery. "Mother.. Mother I don't know what to do!" she wailed softly to her mother, who wrapped her tail around Dovekit comfortingly. "You can tell me everything. I'm sure we can figure it out together." she mewed to her kit. Dovekit took a deep breath. "Cherrystorm.. Yesterday, I went into the medicine cat den, to see Cherrystorm.." she began, trying to remember what happened, exactly. The omen, or prophecy or whatever was always ominously ringing in the back of her mind, so she had no trouble remembering that. "She.. she showed me some of the herbs. And then.. then it seemed like she wasn't there anymore - I mean, her body was still there, but it was like.. someone else was inside it.." she said, struggling for words. Her mother just nodded patiently. "And she said 'The feather can float, but only with the help of mountains and storms.'. And then she was normal again." she said, almost whimpering. "Mother, I'm so confused!" she whined, looking up hopefully at her mother. "I think we should gather Emberstar and Cherrystorm - and maybe Nettlecloud - and tell them about this. They would have something to say." she said, determined, then padded out of the den, Dovekit trailing hopefully.
"Emberstar! Nettlecloud! Cherrystorm!" called Stormflower, her voice ringing fearlessly across the camp. "We need to talk about something - something for your ears only!" Dovekit looked up at her mother, surprised at this dominant, fearless side of her. Emberstar made her way across the clearing with a casual stride as was common for her leader. She knew she was higher ranked than the rest, and while she only meant good, she would not let others order her around. Nettecloud came scurrying across the clearing from where he stood with Harestep. Cherrycloud approached at a normal pace, her gaze directed at Dovekit instead of Stormflower, which made Dovekit a bit nervous. Birchwhisker cast a disapproving glance in their direction, but said nothing. "We must speak in private." said Stormflower in a voice that said she was not going to change her mind. Nettlecloud started to protest, but Emberstar silenced him. "Come up to my den." she sighed, quite obviously thinking that this would be a waste of time. "I assure you, Emberstar, there is nothing more important than this right now." Stormflower said in the same tone that she used earlier. Emberstar rolled her eyes, but said nothing as they walked up the ledge leading to the somewhat private leader's den. "So, why have you gathered the three most important people in this clan to speak with a queen and a kit, again?" Nettlecloud said boredly. Dovekit bristled at the insult, but Stormflower ignored it. "I believe this is very important. My kit, Dovekit, has received a prophecy from SunClan." she said. Dovekit wanted just wake up and say this was all a dream when the eyes of the three cats listening looked at her, expecting her to say something. "Um.. Cherrystorm told me a prophecy.. I guess.. She-She said 'The feather can float, but only with the help of the mountains and storms'." Dovekit said nervously, willing it all to be over. Nettlecloud looked at the kit, then at Stormflower, :How do we know that this is not a trick?" he said in a disgusted voice. Cherrystorm spoke up. "It is true. I know it." she said, and nothing more. She walked past Stormflower and out of the den, a troubled expression on her face. Emberstar nodded, looking mildly confused. "If Cherrystorm says that it is true, it must be true. Thank you for telling us." he said, looking at Stormflower, then almost as an after thought, turned to Dovekit and said. "Both of you," then padded out of the den, Nettlecloud not far behind.
Stormflower and Dovekit padded out, side-by-side. "Well, this has been quite a day, hasn't it, Dovekit?" Stormflower asked in the motherly voice that Dovekit knew. "Yes, yes it has.." Dovekit said, smiling. "Let's go back to the nursery. It's time for you to sleep." said Stormflower comfortingly. At the mention of sleep, Dovekit was suddenly exhausted. "Sleep sounds... really nice right now." Dovekit yawned, and Stormflower picked her up by the scruff and carried her to the nursery. "Sleep tight, little one." Stormflower said as Dovekit was falling asleep. "Sleep tight."
"Hello?" she mewed timidly at the lichen-covered den entrance. "It's me, Dovekit," she said. "Come in!" said a joyous muffled voice that belonged to Cherrystorm. Dovekit smiled and entered. ~ Chapter Three ~
Dovekit woke up to the excited squeals of Cliffkit and Stonekit. It had been three moons since the meeting with Emberstar, Cherrystorm and Nettlecloud, and Dovekit and her brothers were becoming apprentices. "Fuzz-brains, will you just shut you mouse-holes!" she snarled moodily to her brothers (o teenager Dovekit here to murder you all XDD sick roasts all day) Stonekit glared at her, while Cliffkit looked hurt. She shook her head. "Mouse-brained fools!" she hissed, leaving the nursery. It was now New-Leaf, and she looked at the pretty flowers with nothing short of a bad temper. "Who made dirt in your fresh kill, Dovekit?" a motherly voice teased from behind her. Dovekit whirled around and, to her surprise, saw Harestep, not Stormflower like she was expecting. "You seem angry, but you should be happy! It's your apprentice ceremony! You won't have to live in the nursery anymore. Aren't you excited?" Harestep asked, concerned. Before Dovekit could respond, Goosekit, one of Harestep's kits, tumbled out of the nursery and right into his mother. "What are you doing out here? Back inside!" said Harestep, her attention now on her kit as she forgot Dovekit was there. Dovekit sighed and walked away.
Just then, Emberstar's voice rang across the clearing. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather around the BlazeRock!" she said. Dovekit hurried over, excited. As much as she wanted to be sulky so she could get attention, (that's the kid tactic that parents know too well - you should know that, Dovekit) she did want to become an apprentice. She looked around at the slowly gathering warriors, wondering which one would be her mentor. She saw Stormflower ushering Cliffkit and Stonekit out of the nursery to sit beside Dovekit. Their mother groomed each of them in turn. Emberstar's gaze swept the clan, as if seeing if everyone was there. Nettlecloud and Cherrystorm were sitting at the base of the rock. Gorseclaw, Grassfeather and Krestalflight looked around confidently. "Cats of EmberClan! I believe you all know why you have been gathered here today." she started, gazing at Dovekit and her brothers. "Stonekit, Dovekit and Cliffkit are old enough to become apprentices." she said, staring at each kit for a few moments. Emberstar took a deep breath, which just made Dovekit more and more anxious. "Stonekit, step forwards." Emberstar said to Dovekit's oldest sibling. "You are six moons old, enough to become an apprentice. Do you promise to uphold the warrior..." Emberstar said, but that blurred into the background as Dovekit watched Cherrystorm. She didn't hear all the meows around her when Stonekit was apprenticed to Gorseclaw and Cliffkit was apprenticed to Grassfeather. All she heard was her heart pounding in her ears as she watched Cherrystorm fidget beside the BlazeRock. She heard a blurry-sounding voice calling her name - Emberstar's - but didn't snap out of her trance-like state until Cherrystorm interrupted Emberstar.
"Dovekit do you promis-" was as far as Emberstar got before Cherrystorm jumped up onto the rock beside her "I have received a prophecy!" she shouted to the confused clan, who in turn whispered to each other in outraged and curious reactions. "But, not only me. The cat who truly received this prophecy is Dovekit. I think that she should be my apprentice!" she cried to all the cats in the clearing, who were outraged and confused, especially Krestalflight. Emberstar was calm. "Has there been a sign from SunClan?" questioned Krestalflight. "Not exactly. But isn't it sign enough that Dovekit was the one to receive this prophecy?!" Cherrystorm cried out, and lots of the cats started to agree with her. "Alright. I think it's settled. Dovekit will become medicine cat apprentice." said Emberstar. "She will go to the Sky River at half-moon to become a true medicine cat apprentice." she said. "Stonepaw! Cliffpaw! Dovepaw!" she cried, and the rest of the clan did the same. Dovepaw padded away, but Birchwhisker padded up to her. "So, a prophecy, huh? Sure you weren't just being the sleepy-headed little kit that you are and had an 'important wittle dweam'!?" he sneered in a kit-like voice. "Father!" Dovepaw protested. "No. I don't need a weak medicine cat daughter. My two normal sons are good enough for me, Dovekit." he said, turning his back on his only daughter and walking away (ooo sexist father time)
Dovepaw was about to head over to the nursery and sulk by her mother's side when she heard her father's voice behind her. "Oh, so the failure apprentice wants to be a kit. Go crying to your mother, Dovekit!" it sneered. Dovekit whirled around, hot with shame as she felt her ears burning. A few cats, some of which were Nettlecloud and Krestalflight, laughed at her father's 'joke' (now Birchwhisker has a posse. I could make a super edition of that XD) She padded over to the medicine cat den, her tail held high and her head up. Her father's smug look abruptly came off his face and became outraged, with made Dovepaw feel confident, just like she was looking. She walked right by Nettlecloud and Krestalflight, who looked the same as her father, and into the medicine cat den. She immediately hunched over, then got overwhelmed by the scent of herbs. "Eeeyuck!" she cried. "How will I sleep with this smell, Cherrystorm?" Her mentor sighed, and shook her head while smiling. "I could give you some poppy seeds." she joked. "You'd sleep for a moon if I gave you enough." she smiled at her new apprentice. Dovepaw just yawned as a response. "Oh, c'mon. Don't you want to learn something before you go to sleep?" Cherrystorm teased. "No, Cherrystorm!" Dovepaw said sleepily and curled up and fell asleep in her nest.
She woke up on the morning of the half-moon. "It's time, Dovepaw. Time to go to the Sky-River!" Cherrystorm's excited mew woke her. "Fine...!" she muttered, getting up. "I've already prepared travelling herbs for you! Eat up, Dovepaw!" Cherrystorm said energetically. Dovepaw gulped down the herbs, fighting the urge to just spit them out again. "Let's go!" Cherrystorm said, already heading outside. Dovepaw rolled her eyes and followed her mentor. When she exited camp, she tried hard not to let her fur bristle at Birchwhisker's insults, but they got her a bit, which made her father taunt her more. She followed Cherrystorm for what felt like seasons before she finally saw the river. It sparkled in the morning sun. She ran down beside Cherrystorm right to the water. "So.. you just lap some of the water.. and then SunClan will visit you!" Cherrystorm panted. Dovekit settled down beside the river. She lapped gently at the water, and immediately fell asleep.
"Welcome!" said a spiritual voice. "So, Dovepaw. You must like it, following your destiny to be a medicine cat, right?" the cat asked. Dovepaw looked at the cat, confused. "Uhh.. I guess? Honestly, I'd rather be a warrior." she said to the SunClan cat. The cat's eyes widened. "W - Wait, What?" they said, inspecting Dovepaw further. "No - it can't be!" they shreiked, fading. "You're not the one!"
(Sorry for the sloppy ending)

~~Honeyflower~~ has suggested to see more of Stormflower, which I tried to do in Chapter Two
~~Honeyflower~~ has also suggested that Dovekit becomes a warrior, conflicting with
Fir Splash 's suggestion for her to become a medicine cat, which will be resolved in a way that hopefully both people are satisfied.
Fir Splash has also suggested that Birchwhisker turn out evil or abusive towards one of his kits, which I might work into the story a bit later
