"Hi there!" she greeted the kits as she stepped closer. She did feel bad for just cutting in there like that while the others were talking, but she couldn't help that now. She gave her chest fur a few quick licks. "I'm Ryeleaf. I don't think I've quite caught any of your names yet? I could tell you some stories later, if you're interested!" she meowed to the kits, a bit hopeful. She probably hadn't fought as many battles as a lot of other cats here, but it wasn't what she was good at, anyway.

Sparrow dipped her head to the she-cat. "My name is Sparrow," she meowed calmly and sat down. She felt better about this she-cat, mostly because her name reminded her of home.
The three kits stared wide-eyed with curiosity, each one shaking their heads. Wanderer had told them about wolves, but the trio had never seen any. Briefly, Patch and Stub entertained thoughts of meeting one some day. That is, until Sparrow spoke up, clearly terrified of the creatures. When Hidden snapped at Sparrow, the two larger kits blinked in surprise, while Red flinched and ducked down again. The red tabby scooted a bit closer to sparrow before raising her eyes again. "Wanderer told us they're like the dogs twolegs keep sometimes, but much bigger and scary," Stub supplied, seeking to break the tension. Luckily, Ryeleaf arrived just in time. Patch glanced at the she-cat gratefully. "I'm Patch." "My name's Stub!" The tom added quickly, tail flicking excitedly. "...I'm Red," came the youngest's reply after a brief moment of hesitation.

"Oh, hey, those are some cool names!" Ryeleaf replied, smiling gently. She had seen some cats back at home deal quite harshly with their kits, but these kits here didn't even know her, so being nice and friendly was most likely the best way to go. She had to admit that she didn't even know if she could be stern, but for now, she wouldn't have to be. Her eyes flicked over each kit before they settled on Patch for a moment longer. "So, have you guys ever seen sheep? They're some funny things, let me tell you that," she started, trying to lighten the mood a bit while fondly remembering how she had met some on her travels. At first she had been afraid of them, until she had noticed that the sheep were not even interested in her.

"Did you three kits know I once had to face two wolves all by my self? I barely made it out alive." she said with a gasp and wide eyes for dramatic effect.
Wanderer remained silent for once, but smiled when Ryeleaf mentioned sheep. The kits had never left this area, but Wanderer had crossed paths with sheep on several occasions. Their wool made for a very soft bed, and they didn't seem to mind at all if you took some that had gotten caught against brambles. The dogs that tended to hang about the flocks weren't particularly pleasant, but were easy enough to avoid provided she got a head start and could get far enough away from the sheep for the dogs to lose interest.
The three kits blinked and chorused a no in response to Ryeleaf, but before the she-cat could continue it seemed Hidden had a story to tell as well. "Wow! What happened?" Stub asked excitedly. Admittedly, Patch was a little curious to know how a cat could have taken on two wolves single-pawed, but she wasn't very interested in fighting. The gray-and-white kit scooted closer to Ryeleaf. "What are sheep like?" She asked, careful not to speak over Hidden so the black she-cat could tell her story. Red didn't comment, instead settling in to listen to either story that caught her attention. That is, until she noticed Sparrow was listening intently to something. "Do you hear something?" She whispered.

Ryeleaf's eyes lit up a bit as Patch scooted closer to her. Often enough, other stories would be more interesting than hers, so she appreciated Patch listening. In all honesty, she had already taking a liking to her.... "Well, sheep basically look like big, fluffy clouds - though, they are walking around! So... perhaps fluffy, walking clouds? Either way, they stand around a lot from what I've observed. Some twolegs put them into a square with fences all around. I admit, I felt a bit bad about them being trapped like that, but at least they can't step on you everywhere, then!" She smiled, a bit embarrassed. "If you're not careful, they'll step on you. They're not the smartest, from what I've gathered." She had found that out the hard way when one had stepped on her tail. It had hurt quite a bit.
"And the wool they have - which looks a bit like a big, fluffy pelt at first - is really soft!" she continued. "But don't worry, it doesn't hurt them if you take a bit of their wool." A thought suddenly went through her mind and she cocked her head to the side. "You know, if you would like to go with me, I could try to show you some sheep. Only if you want to, of course!"

Sparrow turned to Red and motioned to a bush at the far side of the clearing. "There is a starling in that bush. Want me to catch it for you?" She asked with a mischievous glint in her eyes that made her seem more like a kit than a grown cat.

Acorn's thoughts went blank. She said it was a possibility! After a long time of just standing there, he finally joined in on Ryeleaf's conversation. "I once fought off a bear- but with my old family." He didn't mean to sound like bragging, and he nervously bit his tongue. Continuing, he said "It was huge! Bigger than a twoleg tent, that's for sure. Even bigger than a monster!"
Suddenly, his heart broke as if a lightning bolt struck right down the middle of it. Oh no... Patch is going to go with Ryeleaf...
((I had been waiting for Discord to post but it's been a few days so.))
Sheep sure were strange creatures. Why did they grow so much wool anyway if they didn't need it? It must be the twolegs that need the wool, Patch decided. When Ryeleaf made her offer, Patch fell silent. She knew that the purpose of this gathering was to find her and her friends a home, but it still came as a surprise that a cat would ask her. Living with Wanderer had been great fun and she loved spending time with her friends, but now it was time to find a home of her own. "I'd like that," she replied with a bright smile.
Stub's eyes lit up. A bear? Even if Acorn hadn't done it on his own, that was still an impressive feat. He'd never seen one, but between Wanderer's tales and Acorn's description, he could only imagine a huge, furry monster that had escaped from the thunderpath. "How did you all chase it off? There must have been a bunch of you to do that!" Stub meowed excitedly.
Admittedly, Red was a little hungry. It had been a while since breakfast, after all. Red dropped into some iteration of a hunter's crouch. "Thank you, but I don't think I could eat one all by myself," she whispered, ears flicking forward. "We could share."

Acorn's mind swirled. Then, he realized Patch might be happier where she was going. He smiled, knowing that she would take good care of patch. "Oh, the bear was so fierce! Feline was able to distract it, while I jumped onto its back. It started freaking out- It was funny seeing that big thing flail around like that!" He thought of Feline, his mate, and sighed.
Wow, Stub is really cool! Maybe I was looking for the wrong kit?
[Scarknee used to be a warrior, like you...-Falcon_star]
(I'm late, sorry) Even though the kit had left, Hidden meowed, "I was walking along the mountains edge all alone, when suddenly, out of nowhere, I heard a howl. I looked around for the source, only to see two pairs of eyes staring back at me with cold ambition and hunger. It scared me out of my fur, but I didn't run away. One of the wolves, a juvenile by the looks of it, that was around my size leaped and pinned me down!" she began.
Ryeleaf felt a bit bad as she noticed Acorn's expression at first, but shrugged it off as he turned to Stub. She turned her attention back to Patch, smiling brightly. "That's great! I'm sure we'll have lots of fun and everything! I'm not much of a fighter, but I can teach you about a lot of herbs and all that! ...only if you want to, of course," she meowed, a bit sheepish as she had gotten ahead of herself. Flicking her tail, she cocked her head to the side, looking thoughtful. "Should we tell Wanderer, then?"
