SANCTUM OF THE FEN
Tribe of Shounia
"This is a world ruled by the jaws of death, only the strong will survive. The weak will perish."
In a world dictated by death, the tribe of Shounia, from a young age as cats are trained to be quick, intelligent, and calculating. Graceful, but merciless. When the grip of death comes swift and fast, only those with a strong will are destined to survive. The fen is a cruel, harsh enviroment. The will and the ways are the difference between surviving and perishing, and cats of the sanctum of the fen are taught to face these challenges head on with tooth and claw. It is the way of the wild, and the calling of nature. But will each cat find it's way in the world? Perhaps you are one of them?
In The sanctum of the Fen, lives the tribe of Shounia, come from a long ancestry of outcasts from the Tribe of the Rushing water, whom is now long forgotten. Having arrived in the fen, many moons ago, the tribe is still determined to survive to battle and tough their way through any challenges they face, and emerge as victors in their cruel world.
The tribe of Shounia are different from most other tribes or clans. Because they mostly base their faith and belief on the forces of nature, rather than StarClan. In a way, it is believed that once they die, they become one with the grass and trees and all those that surround them, rather than becoming one with the stars like StarClan. Things like vultures flying south, or strange occurrences happening in nature are often seen as omens.
THE MAP
1. Clan camp : A shelter of sturdy rocks to arrange into a den just beneath a rocky overhang.
2. The stream : A place where cats can easily drink from and swim in.
3. Herb grove : A patch hidden just out of view from outsiders where the tribe cats of Shounia can go to gather herbs. Plants grow frequently in this place, given the close source of water nearby.
4. Sandy pit : A sandy hollow where the tribe cats go to train and hone their skills. Some of the best hunting spots are nearby, and the sanctum of the fen often venture by to hunt prey here. But egrets often make their nest here own these sandy banks. Tribe cats beware!
5. The pond : A great spot for fishing, and a steady water source.
6. The forbidden crags : This area got it's spooky name when some of the tribe clan cats who first arrived here went to go adventuring within the crags and got bitten by snakes. The fen now know to stay away from this deadly place. But those skilled in the art of hunting come by to hunt here sometimes.
7. The faraway mountains : Very little of the sanctum of the Fen truly knows what lies beyond the mountains, and even fewer have explored it for themselves. Those who have returned came back with reports of snapping white teeth and flashing red fur.
Appearance- The tribe cats of Shounia have adapted to their environment by growing water-resistant fur. They are most likely to be long-furred, with dark pelts in order to blend into their environment. The most common colors are brown, ginger, russet, black or grey. Light colors are a bit uncommon, but still possible.
Quirks- The tribe cats have a different way of healing their clan. Besides gathering herbs to chew up into pulps and be used for wounds and whatnot, the cats of Shounia have a unique way of curing wounds. Rather than using special herbs for wounds that could get infected, the physicians would try cleansing the wounds out by placing worms on them to eat away dead skin and any bacteria left on the cuts. New ways of healing wounds and sicknesses are highly encouraged.
The tribe cats have a somewhat different language from the normal clan cats. Their voices appear to be more high-pitched and light than the ordinary purrs and hisses. The tribe cats have begun developing a new language over the moons, coming up with new words and meaning for everything.
Naming- Naming isn't exactly like clan cats, or like other tribe cats either. Queens give their kits birth names, but once they become old enough to be apprenticed (4 moons), a ceremony is preformed and the kits are able to choose their own name with the help of the leader. For example, if a tribe cat has a sunny personality, they might be named 'Flowershine.' A mischeivious and dark cat might also be named 'Ratstep.' Tribe names don't really work like clan-cat, but singular names like 'Micah' or 'Raven' work just as well.
Talonqua(leader)- Talonqua is the tribe cat's word for leader. Once a cat of the tribe becomes leader, their previous name is forgotten and they are instead called by their rank, which is their new name : Talonqua.
Eyeid(deputy)- The Eyeid is the equivalent to the deputy. They are to be next in line to be the next Talonqua when the current one dies. They are responsible for looking after the tribe, organizing watch guard parties and making sure all cats are in their place.
Physician(healer)- The healers of their tribe. They are responsible for making sure all the members of the tribe are fit and healthy.
:Physician aloris(apprentice)- Aloris, the tribe cats' word for apprentice means 'student' or 'young learner.' The physician's aloris is to learn from the current physician so that they may learn to apply the art of healing into use to heal other clan members.
Head Deryn- The head of the Deryns. They are responsible for making sure all warriors are in shape when it comes down to the field of battle. They also pass down new battle-techniques and whatnot. They are very skilled when it comes to battle, and are also responsible for planning out strategies in a fight.
Deryn(warriors)- The word deryn means 'fierce fighter' in the tribe cat's language. Deryn's are normal tribe members, and fight for the safety of the Sanctum of the Fen. Deryns are also responsible for hunting and makings sure kits and methori are fed first.
Aloris- The apprentices that learn from their mentors.
Methori(queens)- Expecting or nursing female cats who take care of kits. They are treated with great respect, and are seen as bringers of new life to the tribe.
Kits- Young ones being taking care of by methori until they are old enough to be trained as an aloris.

● Please do your best to keep the gender ratio equal. We don't want to have too many females in the roleplay. It would be a bit weird and also somewhat unfair if there were about 10 females and only 3 males.
