Krispy's Mission

"'There lived cats in the wild, each of them with a power beyond even my own imagining. These cats lived in two ancient groups: The Colony of Crystal and The Colony of Leaves. It has been rumored that The Colony of Leaves can disappear into the night, unseen by other cats or their prey. It has also been said that some of the cats of the Colony of Crystal have more than one power, but very few are known. These cats live by laws of their own and hunt for their own food. Their survival depends on their cooperation with each other.'"

"'Since all the cats lived together, they needed some kind of order. They have a leader, a co-leader, a shaman and a healer. The leader, of course, leads, while the co-leader helps the leader and takes over for them when they retire. The shaman interprets signs from the Night-pelts, their ancestors. The Night-pelts are strange and mysterious, never telling anything directly. If they did, it would result in disaster, as it has before. The shaman also keeps the sacred markings, I'll tell you about them someday, and authorizes mark ceremonies. I'll tell you about those later as well. The healers have lots of knowledge of herbs and healing. They heal the members of the colony.'"
