In Spotted's LightningClan I made a cat CardinalFlight who quickly became Loved by me A LOT! In my head I have her backstory but others don't exactly know her backstory. Here it is for all to see.
Chapter 1
The Beginning
The night It happened it was storming, Maybe the worst storm the world has ever seen. Every time thunder struck it sounded as though a thousand brick falls had been smashed, and every time rain soared from the clouds it echoed like ice pelting a hollow rock. I was cowering in the corner of our den, a hollow, empty log. As a kit I was terrified of storms and this frightened me out of my fur. It was dark and I was freezing. "Angel..?" I called into the darkness, jumping as thunder struck down again.
"Yes, little one?" I saw her creme fur come into view and I rushed up next to her, nestling my head in her fur. "It's ok, It's ok." She slowly sunk to the floor and curled her body around my scrawny one. We sat there for a few silent minutes, entwined, forever. I then heard claws scraping against wood, hollow wood. I froze, peering around our den and eventually giving up. "I'll go get us some food from the storage." Angel yawned, shaking off her pelt and heading towards a hole in the wood. Just as she bent down to grab a fat rabbit -Angel always forced me to eat rabbit because as she said it was healthy and the best thing for me and I hated it- a howl sounded from the entrance to the den. I stiffened as I saw a silhouette of a bulky cat and as it stepped into the light I nearly yelped at what I saw. He had skin showing through his thin dark gray fur and he was missing an eye, his other was pitch black. His face was frozen into a twisted scowl.
"Who are you?" Angel scoffed, standing protectively in front of me. I was curled around her leg and shaking uncontrollably.
The cat had a wheezing laugh and sounded like a hyena. "You don't need to know that," and then he flicked his tail, signaling for two dark brown toms, one with tabby stripes and one with lighter spots to appear from the shadows. They both leaped at Angel and barreled her over, turning into a muddy ball of fur. I dropped low to the ground as Angel told me to do if we were attacked, and crawled as close as I could get to the wall of wood. I stared as Angel flung the two toms off of her and as the bulkier one attacked her, throwing her to the ground. They had her cornered now, shoved up against the bark while she was desperately trying to fight them off. "Where's the kit?" The bulkier one growled into Angel's ear.
Angel stayed silent but kicked the tabby against the wall. I couldn't stand it anymore, I ran and clawed and scratched the bulky one. He turned and slammed his paw not my face, making me crumple to the ground. I felt blood drip down my cheek but ignored it. The spotted tom circled me and clawed at me, though missing almost every time. Angel tackled him but was eventually crushed by the bulky one. "Go! Cardinal, GO!" She screeched, fighting off the toms. "I can't go without you!" I screeched and a tear sped down my cheek. "You must." She managed to cough out befor the bulky cat sliced her belly.
"I'll come back for you Angel! I promise!" I hissed over my shoulder and began to run though was caught by the tabby who slashed my tail. I wrestled my tail out of his grip and ran as fast as I could out of that den. AS FAST AS I COULD.
The forest I lived in was gorgeous, tall towering trees and soft grass. Every stream was as clear as day and blue like the sky. The flowers that sprouted from the ground smelled amazing and were vibrant and a rainbow of colors. All of that whizzed by as I ran past it, my short legs failing against the ground. Soon, I slowed to a small jog and began to walk. Ahead of me was a massive tree, the branches were thick and leafy. It made me tired staring at it, and I gently lowered myself next to the tree, curling my body around it. I soon fell into a dreamless sleep.
Chapter 2
Safe at last
I felt a small nudge in my side and woke up, blinking my eyes against the bright daylight. The storm had cleared and the sun was evaporating the puddles on the ground. I jumped when I saw a young russet colored cat and a splotchy black, white, and ginger cat. Both were toms and were quite bulky. I jumped and hissed at them. "Get back! You hurt her!" I tried slashing the bigger tom but he deflected my blows.
"Shhh. It's ok, who did I hurt?" He had a calm, warm voice so I was comforted slightly and I began to relax. I turned to face him and sheathe my claws, though I was still terrified.
You hurt Angel!" I wailed, raising my muzzle to the sky and crumpling to the ground as I remembered her telling me to run. Again, I felt a slight nudging in my side as the bigger tom talked to the younger cat briefly.
"My name is Shatteredfang, and this is Russetpaw. We can take you back to our camp, It'll be safe." Shatteredfang smiled warmly, making me rise to my paws. I stumbled slightly but regained my ground and looked into the tom's warm eyes, filled with sympathy and truth.
"I'll come with you." I declared, a smile curling gently on my lips. As we walked I sensed the younger tom -Russetpaw I think- was loaded with questions, he kept glancing back at me with the same thoughtful look. When he looked at me again I rolled my eyes, "You can stop looking at me." I whispered, chuckling slightly. He blushed and quickly snapped his head back forward and I could see his cheeks still burning bright red. Soon, we arrived at their camp and I don't even want to explain it. Just imagine a beautiful place, with kind cats and flowing conversations. I loved it already.
(Sorry, had to stop. I got most of the flow out on "Paper" but I need to brainstorm for a bit. Hope you enjoyed )
