Hey everybody! We are back with the second edition of our monthly newspaper. While it may be the season of love, we are also here to celebrate the game's fifth anniversary! As of the 12th of February, the game turned five years old and has gone through many changes since its initial release. We bring this edition in both the Warrior and Valentine spirit!

1. What led you to make the game in the beginning?
My sister was a very big driving influence in
the creation of Warrior Cats: Untold Tales.
She introduced me to the world of the Warrior Cats
and I was fascinated with the concept. I wanted to
make this game because I noticed that there were
very few Warrior Cats fangames in existence, with
the exception of one or two, and I thought I could
bring a great deal of joy to the fans of the books
with what I could create.
2. What made you decide to not include a set-in-stone story in the game?
I have been inspired all my
life by open-world games, from Harvest
Moon to Animal Crossing to Skyrim. I've always been
fascinated with the concept of emergent gameplay
and freedom of choice in gaming, so I tried to
keep Warrior Cats: Untold Tales very story-lite to
allow players to flesh out their own characters
and unique adventures on their own. It was my
hope to provide the tools necessary to emulate a
typical day-in-the-life of a warrior of the clans.
3. I know that version 15 was a pretty big upgrade. Were there any other versions that was largely different from the older ones?
Certainly not as drastic as v15!
Early on, updates were frequent (probably too
frequent) and often only had 1 or 2 new features.
I quickly learned that this was, on the whole, a
bad idea, and that updates should be spread apart
and substantial. Version 14 was fairly large as well,
but mainly included quality-of-life improvements.
In terms of new gameplay mechanics and features,
v15 is unrivaled.
4. I have known of/been a fan of the game since version 13, maybe 12, and I personally have enjoyed playing it and watching it grow, not only in updates, but also in popularity. As the game developer how rewarding do you think it turned out to be?
I thought it was very rewarding! As a developer,
it was fun to see the community come together
and to hear feedback on the project

~For Him~
An endless lull of doing things
Each day felt the same
For something new my heart did sing
And novelty came with his name
Falling in love may have been a shame
It happened on a whim
But I accept that I’m aflame
As long as it’s for him
It started as a doubtful ring
My calloused soul to tame
Vivid emotions did take wing
Happiness overcame
And to my heart the prince took aim
My love that he might win
But I will gladly take the blame
As long as it’s for him
Our fates are tied with a deep red string
Our souls are one and the same
A bounty worthy of a king
Is what our love became
I don’t consider myself a dame
But my heart is full to the rim
And all my love I would proclaim
As long as it’s for him
My prince, he came
He’ll never dim
My heart exclaims
My love’s for him

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. While this may be a positive thing for those of you who are in a relationship, it's the yearly despair for the ones that are not. Couples are everywhere, acting romantic in public. Fear not, though, it is completely okay to feel frustration during this time of the year.
Surprisingly enough, there are many benefits that comes with being single on the day. For example, there's no reason to fuss over gifts and fulfill expectations for the other person. You also save money as a result - prices of chocolate generally shoot up around this time of the year, and drop drastically on the 15th.
When you're single, you also can view the day as showing your appreciation for your friends and family, as well as treating yourself while everyone else is out there doing whatever it is that they need to do. Take a day off.
And finally, it isn't the end of the world if you are single. Not being in a relationship doesn't mean anything negative about yourself. You are loved and appreciated.
