“Hello? Is anyone out there?” “Oh no…. It can’t be… DO-“

The sun was rising, while clouds were still in the sky. A few Katzes were planting flowers outside to decorate. Aina was padding into her cave. A brown Katze was sleeping near the entrance. Her tail was moving back and forth. Aina padded up to Rei, and looked down at her.
“Rei! It’s time to get up.” She said. Rei opened her eyes, but they snapped shut quickly. Aina nudged her to wake her up, but she still didn’t. Finally, her eyes opened, and she stared around. Rei stared up at her mother, and sighed.
“Ugh.. My head hurts..” She murmured, but her mother didn’t hear what she whispered.
“I have to talk to you about something…” She said. Rei looked at her, and rolled her eyes. Obviously she knew what she was going to talk to her about. Aina watched her, but then padded into the corner. Rei sighed, and padded after her quickly.
“We’re having the Ice festival…. And I need you to help me get ice flowers.” Aina said. Rei looked at her with disbelief, ice flowers? My mom must be crazy to think I would find those. She thought. Aina padded out of the cave and into her garden.
“Alright…” Rei almost complained. She grabbed her backpack, and looked through there looking for the map, but she barely found anything. Rei ran across the room looking under her mossy bedding, and finally found it. She tried to open it, but it was mostly crinkled up and ripped.
“This’ll take a little longer then I expected…” Rei grumbled. She padded into the forest to look for the Ice Shard. Rei’s pawsteps were shakey, but she tried to be fine with it. She hoped that she could somehow sense the Ice Shard’s magic, but all she felt was herself being watched from in front, but she saw not a single Katze there. Rei padded through the forest quite frightened.
“Hello there.” Said a gray Katze. He leaped down and padded up to her. Rei blinked, then stared at him. She thought he might’ve had a map with him, and looked around him for a map.
“Do you have a map of this forest? I’m looking for an ice flower.” She said. The Katze laughed, and fluffed up his fur to seem taller. Rei stared at him seriously, but then he stopped laughing.
“I’m guessing you were serious about it.” He smiled slightly. Rei stalked past him hoping he wouldn’t follow her. But instead of no following her, he snuck towards her. Rei stared around looking for a cave with an odd glow coming from it, but all she could find was a dark cave. She tried to figure out if there was some ‘odd’ glow coming from it.
“So you’re going in there?” He laughed. Rei stared back at him, and he noticed her eye color, and flattened his ears. Rei stared down at him very confused.
“Oh sorry… It’s just…. Your eye color.” He said shaking, and Rei stared at him angrily.
“So… It’s because my eyes are red? That’s a problem??” Rei hissed, and leaped on the tree. She spreaded out her wings which set a large shadow on him. His ears flattened, and he started to back up slowly. Rei folded her wings, and jumped down from the tree. He almost ran off, but she stared at him calmly.
“Sorry… By the way… What is your name?” Rei stared at him. He turned around, and looked into her eyes trying to not get shocked. He stared down, and turned around again.
“…. Kuro..” He sighed, and padded up to her. Rei looked at Kuro, and he stared back. He padded off staring back at her like he wanted her to follow him. She padded quickly up to him making sure she doesn’t get lost. Rei looked around seeing it’s getting colder around her. Kuro stared back at her making sure she’s following.
“I’m Rei. My mother is Aina.” Rei told Kuro. He nodded, and took a turn towards a snowy mountain. Rei looked around seeing it’s getting colder, and her paws felt like ice cubes. Kuro led her into a cave with a lot of crystals all around. Rei almost stepped on a crystal, but instead she tripped on the crystal.
“Careful, there are a lot of crystals here.” He reminded her. Rei kept moving until she saw a huge crystal. She looked around and spotted dark shadowy figures moving around the walls. Kuro seemed like he barely even noticed the shadowy figure.
“What’s that shadowy figure?” She asked. Kuro stared back at her, then looked around the walls looking for a shadowy figure. Rei got smacked in the face by a Katze, but all she saw were glowing green eyes. She landed on the cold icy ground with a deep cut on her face, and one on her side. Kuro turned around, and saw a black cat stare at him.
“Why hello there….. Kuro…” She laughed. Kuro backed up slowly, and landed in the ice cold water. The Katze smiled, and smacked him in the face leaving him at the entrance of the cave. She stared at the Ice Shard trying to remember where the special crystal is, but suddenly a gray cat appeared in a flash and leaped onto her.
“Get off!” She hissed, and kicked him off watching him hit the cave’s ceiling. He landed hard on the ground staring up at her. The gray katze got up and leaped onto her leaving a huge scratch on her chest. Suddenly, the cave got darker, and he tried to walk around, but all he saw were green eyes.
“HARU DON’T!”
