1 - The Vines Grew, and Life Began
(Forestleaf's PoV)
My mother told me a story once, before she died. She told me a story of a great Clan. I will tell you the story of the beginning of ForestClan, in her words, just as she told me....
"I was a kit once, just like you. I was raised in a Clan, called VineClan. I had a brother named Treekit. My mother, Valientheart gave me the name Forestkit. I was kind, but able to take control when needed, especially when it came to my brother who got sick one day. He survived because of my ability to figure out what was wrong with him and taking control."
"Then I became an apprentice to Breezestorm. She was a soft one, beautiful as the creek we fished at. But, she was brave, and taught me the way of the warrior. Treepaw was apprenticed to Haredash, who was a swift Deputy, and a fierce one at that. He was someone I looked up to, who was stern. Perfect to put Treepaw out of his mischievous ways."
"Finally, a warrior. I made friends with Branchpuddle, and eventually we became mates. I became an aunt, Treeleap and Violetpetal had two she-kits, Meadowkit and Barkkit. But VineClan fell, Haredash killed in a battle and the leader, Wrenstar lost his final life to green cough. Branchpuddle and I escaped as a corrupt leader rose to power, Mudflare. Nobody else made it. We decided that I should be the leader of a Clan, named after me, as most Clans were named after their founder. We gathered many members."
"Then, Mudstar wiped most of us out, scared, Branchpuddle sacrificed himself to save me and kill Mudstar. I found I was pregnant with a kit, you. My, you look just like your father, Forestkit! It may seem like I named you after myself, but I named you after my Clan, for all the fallen. I then decided I would give you a warrior name in hopes that one day, you may revive ForestClan. I will train you, my dear."
I looked up to my mother. She raised me to be soft like Breezestorm, swift like Haredash, loving like Treeleap, smart like Violetpetal, strong like my father, Branchpuddle, and able to take control like herself. It was always like that until the day she was killed by adder venom when we were hunting for fish. That was the day I decided, that I had to recreate ForestClan. To honor the fallen, and my mother! To live up to my namesake! I looked to the stars that night, the day she named me Forestleaf, and the stars spoke to me, telling me it was my destiny. And that's how I got here.
Mewls woke Forestleaf from her sleep. A tiny kit sat near on top of her, pawing at her nose
Kit : "Are you awake?"
Forestleaf : *nods, gently pushing her off. "* "Yes."
Kit : Yay! Let's play!
Forestleaf : Wait a minute! Where are you from? Who are you?
Kit : I'm Mistkit! I'm 4 moons old, and I'm from a cave! Mommy went to StarClan, but she told me not to worry, that there's a brown cat who passed by every so often who would help me!
Forestleaf : I see. My name is Forestleaf. This is ForestClan. You can be our first member, and our first kit, and I'll keep you warm and safe.
Mistkit : Thank you, Forestleaf! I'm so happy!

*Foreststar's PoV*
I asked Ravenstrike to watch Mistkit for me. I decided to try to speak to StarClan, getting a little bit injured in the process, but I just let my paws guide me. I took a sip of a waterfall, and fell asleep.
I saw nine cats there. One spoke. It was my father.
Branchpuddle : *Touches nose to the top of Forestleaf's head* With this life, I give you strength. Use it well to guide your Clan and keep them safe from harm
The next one spoke. It was Breezestorm, my mother's mentor.
Breezestorm : *Touches nose to the top of Forestleaf's head* With this life, I give you sympathy and understanding. Please, use it well to help your Clanmates and understand that not everyone is perfect.
The third cat that spoke was my uncle Treeleap
Treeleap : *Touches nose to the top of Forestleaf's head* With this life, I give you protection. Use it well to keep those who you love safe and warm.
Fourthly came Violetpetal, my aunt.
Violetpetal : *Touches nose to the top of Forestleaf's head* With this life, I give you wisdom. Use it well to weigh your choices out and create the path best for your Clan.
Next was Haredash, my uncle's mentor.

Sixth was my grandmother, Valientheart.

The leader of VineClan came next, Wrenstar.

The eighth was my cousin, Meadowkit. She mewled at me.
Meadowkit : *Touches nose to the top of Forestleaf's head* With this life, I give you a mother's love. Use it well become a caring person who will be a great parent one day.
My mother stepped up.
Foreststar the First : *Touches nose to the top of Forestleaf's head* With this life, I give you the ability to honor old traditions, mentoring, and mercy. Use it well to be a compassionate leader, to restore your Clan to what it once was, and bring peace.
The lives hurt as they became mine, but I knew that it was just a test to make me stronger. My mother spoke once more.
Foreststar the First : I hail you by your new name, Foreststar. Your old life is no more. You have now received the nine lives of a leader, and StarClan grants you the guardianship of ForestClan. Defend it well; care for young and old; honor your ancestors and the traditions of the warrior code; live each life with pride and dignity.
They all chanted my new name. When I woke up, I went home and I told Ravenstrike and Mistkit that I was no longer Forestleaf - I was Foreststar.

: G-greetings! My name is Lilydream. You see, uh, Ravenstrike helped me ot once and... he told me about yo-your clan! Do you mind me becoming a guard? I... also found a kit.... her name is Featherkit.... could she also join?
Foreststar : Not at all! Welcome to ForestClan!
Featherkit : *slowly creeps to Mist kit*
Mistkit : Hi!
Featherkit : Oh.... *bats at Mistkit's tail, the two begin to play*
Foreststar and Ravenstrike went hunting and caught some more squirrels for the fresh kill pile. They talked a bit. It seems they're growing closer!
Another one of Ravenstrike's friends showed up. Tigerstep also became a guard, while Blackstep is his sister!
Nothing of interest happened after that.
: Excuse me, are you Foreststar?
Foreststar : Why, yes I am!
: I'm Splashfall. I'm a travelling medicine cat! I've been tired of travelling lately, and my friends just want to rest. Stroneripple and Leafnight would like to be guards, while I'd like to become your medicine cat.
Foreststar : Request granted. ForestClan is open to all with a pure heart with no evil.
Splashfall : Thank you so much!
Foreststar has been gradually building on the camp. The enclosure is almost complete, just about another wall to go!

4. A New Leaf
Mistkit was 6 moons old! She was ready to be apprenticed.
Foreststar : Mistkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Mistpaw. Your mentor will be Blackstep. I hope Blackstep will pass down all she knows on to you.
Mistpaw : *gasps as Foreststar continues*
Foreststar : Blackstep, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You are an excellent warrior, and you have shown yourself to have speed and loyalty. You will be the mentor of Mistpaw and I expect you to pass on all you know to her.
Blackstep : *steps up to touch noses with Mistpaw*
Ravenstrike : Mistpaw! Mistpaw! *Slowly, the entire Clan joins the chant*
Ravenstrike : Sister, don'tgo too easy on her. She's a energetic one.
Blackstep : Oh, believe me. I won't.
Mistpaw : Eep!
They later went hunting!
Foreststar : Splashfall has a new apprentice, Petalpaw! Sparkshine has also arrived, completing our guard positions. It's finally Leaf-fall. I can't wait to see what is in store for our Clan.
At the gathering, Rotstar, Proudstar, Clearstar, and Skystar approved of the return of ForestClan. Foreststar brought Ravenstrike, Splashfall, and Petalpaw.
Dashstep joined the Clan!

Foreststar : The camp borders are complete, and we gained two new apprentices, siblings Snowpaw and Hoppaw. I am mentoring Hoppaw while Dashstep mentors Snowpaw.
Mistpaw padded up to Ravenstrike. 'Are you SURE you don't want her to be your mate?"
Ravenstrike was taken aback. "Mistpaw, what do you mean?" Mistpaw flicked her tail. "I know she likes you too! You should ask her to Fourtrees."
Ravenstrike thought a moment. "Okay, I'll ask her."
4.1 Love.
Nightkit arrived, and he was happy to be here! He took a liking to Featherkit.
Foreststar and Ravenstrike went to Fourtrees!
Ravenstrike : Foreststar, I love you.
Foreststar : I love you too, Ravenstrike. I guess what Mistpaw said was right!
Ravenstrike : I guess it is. Will you be my mate?
Foreststar : Absolutely!
5. The deputy.
When she went to the Moonfall, Foreststar recieved a vision : It was time to pick a deputy, and she knew who it would be.
When she returned, a warrior named Leopordspots had arrived and he was eager to meet the deputy.
Foreststar: I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of ForestClan is Blackstep

Foreststar : Mistkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Mistpaw. Your mentor will be Blackstep. I hope Blackstep will pass down all she knows on to you.
Mistpaw : *gasps as Foreststar continues*
Foreststar : Blackstep, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You are an excellent warrior, and you have shown yourself to have speed and loyalty. You will be the mentor of Mistpaw and I expect you to pass on all you know to her.
Blackstep : *steps up to touch noses with Mistpaw*
Ravenstrike : Mistpaw! Mistpaw! *Slowly, the entire Clan joins the chant*
Ravenstrike : Sister, don'tgo too easy on her. She's a energetic one.
Blackstep : Oh, believe me. I won't.
Mistpaw : Eep!
They later went hunting!
Foreststar : Splashfall has a new apprentice, Petalpaw! Sparkshine has also arrived, completing our guard positions. It's finally Leaf-fall. I can't wait to see what is in store for our Clan.
At the gathering, Rotstar, Proudstar, Clearstar, and Skystar approved of the return of ForestClan. Foreststar brought Ravenstrike, Splashfall, and Petalpaw.

Foreststar : The camp borders are complete, and we gained two new apprentices, siblings Snowpaw and Hoppaw. I am mentoring Hoppaw while Dashstep mentors Snowpaw.
Mistpaw padded up to Ravenstrike. 'Are you SURE you don't want her to be your mate?"
Ravenstrike was taken aback. "Mistpaw, what do you mean?" Mistpaw flicked her tail. "I know she likes you too! You should ask her to Fourtrees."
Ravenstrike thought a moment. "Okay, I'll ask her."

Nightkit arrived, and he was happy to be here! He took a liking to Featherkit.
Foreststar and Ravenstrike went to Fourtrees!
Ravenstrike : Foreststar, I love you.
Foreststar : I love you too, Ravenstrike. I guess what Mistpaw said was right!
Ravenstrike : I guess it is. Will you be my mate?
Foreststar : Absolutely!
5. The deputy.
When she went to the Moonfall, Foreststar recieved a vision : It was time to pick a deputy, and she knew who it would be.
When she returned, a warrior named Leopordspots had arrived and he was eager to meet the deputy.
Foreststar: I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of ForestClan is Blackstep
