Life in the Clans Challenge The Life in the Clans challenge is a huge challenge I've made. It is for playing in the actual clans in Warrior Cats: Untold Tales and does not include playing in Rogue Clans. You start as an apprentice and move up in the ranks, and there are unique rolls for every clan, rank, and season - with a total of over 600 rolls, and about 300 unique rolls, as some are duplicates.
How it Works Rules Read all of these and follow them as much as you can remember. Try not to break them if possible. This is supposed to be a fun challenge though, so no worries if you make a mistake every so often! <3
1. You must go with what you have rolled, be it good or bad. 2. You must begin as an apprentice, with an apprentice's name, in a clan of your choice. You may not be a rogue [as of yet.] 3. Every three days in game is a moon. A season is three moons, including the tenth, "extra" day as a part of the season/three moons. Using this system, you can understand any times mentioned. This system is a little different then in the books however, as you'll see soon. 4. You can only train to be a warrior as of right now, although [if the rolls permit you] you can gather herbs for the medicine cat apprentice. You cannot become the medicine cat's "assistant" as of yet. 5. Apprentices technically train for about six moons, but for the sake of the game and story, four seasons or twelve moons after you’ve started, you can TRY TO become a warrior - you have to do your warrior assessment first, which is detailed later. Turn off challenge mode, your mentor if you have one, and change your suffix with Coco as soon as you can. For an easier alternative, you can make a new cat in the save who is entirely the same, just with a new suffix, and pretend they are the same cat just as a warrior. Note that this option will delete the four randomly-generated cats in the clan, two of whom could be your potential mate, so only do this if you don't care about losing them. Keep track of when you started and how long you have left, some things can add time to how long you have left. 6. If it is not specified in a roll that you can or cannot hunt during any activity, it should be assumed that you can. Unless otherwise specified you can always hunt or gather herbs [staying within your own territory] after you've finished the day's task, but make sure to follow its requirements, if there are any. 7. The clans each have territories, which you cannot trespass on unless specified in tasks. I made "maps" of these which can be found later. 8. You cannot do tasks for the medicine cat apprentice, deputy or nursery queen without a roll allowing you to. 9. When an apprentice, you can purchase and upgrade the "Sprint" and "Track Prey" skills at any time, but you cannot get or upgrade any other skills [including your basic attack] without rolls. When a warrior, you can still upgrade/purchase Sprint and Track Prey, but you can also roll 1-5 every second in-game day: if you get 1, 3, or 5, nothing happens, but if you roll 2 or 4 you get to purchase or upgrade a skill of your choice excluding killing bite, hold your ground, and herblore. You can only get Hold Your Ground if you become the deputy’s assistant and the other two are not allowed. 10. Your reputation with the clan is how you eat, get bonus coins, and, well, remain in the clan! You can lose reputation as a punishment for failing a quest or doing something you shouldn't have. You lose reputation by eating prey [not from the keeper of your fresh-kill pile], each prey taking away 2 reputation points. 11. You might want to keep a pile of herbs & other miscellaneous items somewhere in your clan, as you need them for certain tasks. If a task mentions "herbs being ruined", you have to get rid of all your gathered herbs. 12. You cannot get a mate or kits until you become a warrior. 13. You also cannot get an apprentice until you become a warrior. When you've become a warrior, you can roll 1-4 every 5 days. If you get 1 or 3, you do not get an apprentice but if you roll 2 or 4, you do. HOWEVER, you can only purchase the apprentice from the bonus shop if on the day you roll and get one, you have 2 bonus coins or 40 reputation [enough to buy 2 bonus coins]. If you do not have enough to buy the apprentice, you must wait until the next roll and still randomly roll. Meaning that if you roll to get an apprentice but can't buy it immediately, you do NOT get an apprentice until you roll successfully for one again. 14. When starting the challenge, you are forbidden from using herbs, prey, or other items stashed while setting up the challenge, before properly beginning with challenge mode, rolls and so on. You must destroy any of these items that you might mistakenly use, but if you'll be able to distinguish them leave them be. 15. If a roll doesn't specify for you to "hunt" prey or "gather" herbs/misc items, you can use items from a stash [note that this must be a stash from while you've been playing properly, see rule 14.] If a roll does specify to "gather" or "hunt", you cannot use a stash. 16. When doing this challenge yourself, you can modify it, including the rolls and rules, in away way, but please credit me/mention the challenge [whether modifying it or not] and if modifying, mention what you've changed or added. Setup 1. If you are starting a new save in which your ideal pelt and clan is not unlocked, you must obtain enough bonus coins to unlock these. 2. You must then obtain enough bonus coins [five] to buy "Challenge Mode" which turns you into an apprentice when enabled. Note: DO NOT purchase this until you have made the cat you will be playing with. Your previously obtained bonus coins should be transferred to the new cat and you can then purchase and enable this mode. 3. You can optionally train an apprentice into a warrior and make this your "mentor" before beginning, but this is not needed. 4. Once everything is prepared, turn on challenge mode [and your "mentor" if you have one] and play! You can immediately begin doing rolls. Make sure you are getting the correct rolls for the clan, season, and rank [warrior/apprentice] that you are.
Gatherings On the first day of each season, a gathering is held at Fourtrees. You MAY be able to attend these.
If you've done anything to lower your reputation with your clanmates the day of the gathering or the previous day, you cannot attend. Otherwise, you can attend. To attend you have to leave at 6:30 pm and stay at Fourtrees until midnight. You may press CTRL to get bonus experience.
If you've trespassed in another clan's territory that day or the previous day, and been seen by cats of that clan, the leader will call you out and you will lose 2 reputation [simulated by eating a single piece of prey].
Warrior Assessment When you’ve played as an apprentice for 4 seasons or 12 moons, you can become a warrior. But first, you have to get through your warrior assessment. The warrior assessment is spread over three in-game days, and can only be started if your health is over half full. During your assessment, you can still do rolls if you want, but the assessment is challenging enough on its own so I'd advise you against it.
On the first day, you must hunt 12 pieces of prey [four stacks, if the prey is stack-able] before midnight (12 am), in your clan's territory or neutral territory, and deliver all of it to your clan's freshkill pile. If you fail to deliver 12 pieces of prey to the freshkill pile before midnight - even if you caught 12 - if you eat one or more pieces of prey during the day, or if you hunt in another clan's territory, you fail. [Failure is detailed below.] You may not use stockpiled prey to complete this task.
On the second day, you must complete two tasks for both the medicine cat assistant and the queen of your clan. You may not use stockpiled herbs or items to complete this task, you need to find them. Trespassing is allowed if the herb or item is only found within another clan's territory, but if a herb or item you need can be found outside of another clan's territory, then you fail if you trespass while getting that herb or item. Otherwise, you will fail if you don't complete all four tasks [two for the medicine cat assistant and two for the queen] before 12 am.
On the third day, you must complete two battle quests for the clan's deputy. If a battle is lost it doesn't count and you still have to complete another in its place. You fail if you 'die', even if the medicine cat revives you, or if you fail to complete two battle quests before 12 am.
If you fail, you have to wait 1 moon, or 3 in-game days, before you can retake your assessment. If you succeed, you have to sit vigil in the camp, not sleeping, until 5 am, when you can become a proper warrior [either turn off your mentor if you have one, turn off challenge mode, and change your suffix as soon as possible, or create a new cat with the same everything except a new suffix if you don't mind losing the four randomly-generated cats in the clan.]

Go to a river tile nearby and drop moss in the water, then pick it back up and bring it back to the clan as if you soaked it. You may not hunt and have to fill your entire inventory with moss. Put some near all the cats in your clan [you don't have to do this for the NPC mates]. 7. Your mentor lets you do anything today as long as you don't eat any prey you catch or trespass in other clan's territories. [Doing what you're not supposed to results in losing 4 reputation.] 8. Your mentor takes you battle training today. Spend until 2 pm in the Training Hollow, and do not hunt. You are allowed to upgrade your Claws attack skill or obtain/upgrade the Feral Slash attack skill [can be done at the clan's Trainer.] You can hunt or gather herbs in ThunderClan territory the rest of the day. 9. Your mentor takes you battle training today. Spend until 2 pm in the Training Hollow, and do not hunt. You are allowed to upgrade your Claws attack skill or obtain/upgrade the Feral Slash attack skill [can be done at the clan's Trainer.] You can hunt or gather herbs in ThunderClan territory the rest of the day. 10. Stay close to ThunderClan [within three tiles, not including the camp] for the rest of the day. 13. There have been more twolegs then usual near the thunderpath. Do not go into any Thunderpath tiles for the rest of the day and the entire next day. [If you get a roll or task that needs you to go near/cross the thunderpath the following day, reroll]. You can hunt or gather herbs for the rest of the day, avoiding the Thunderpath. 14. A thunderstorm starts a fire in ThunderClan camp [REROLL if it is currently raining]! Flee the camp and stay away until midday the following day/if it starts raining. Spend the rest of the following day until 10 pm hunting and collecting herbs to restock what was lost. [YOU CANNOT eat while staying away from camp and have to wait until you may safely return, and you also cannot return just to eat when you should be staying away! Also note that you must NOT roll the following day since you’re away from camp/restocking.] 15. There have been reports of dogs in WindClan territory. Avoid the entire quarter of the map containing WindClan territory for the rest of the day and the entire next day. [If you get a roll or task that needs you to enter this territory the next day, reroll]. You can hunt or gather herbs in ThunderClan territory for the rest of the day. 16. You got hungry while out hunting and gulped down a squirrel! Roll 1-3. 1 or 3: someone saw you and told your mentor. -6 reputation [eat prey not from the fresh-kill pile until you have 6 less reputation to simulate this.] 2: you weren't caught and there is no penalty. 17. One of the clans has been causing trouble recently! Roll 1-3 to see which one [1: River, 2: Wind, 3: Shadow]. You have to fight any patrols of this clan that you see. You can also participate in a task from the deputy if you are fighting that specific clan. 18. One of the clan cats found a piece of rotten freshkill on the freshkill pile, and discovered much of the prey was rotten! Spend the entire day hunting to make up for the rotten prey. 19. The kits got into the medicine cat den and made a mess of the herbs! Spend the rest of the day gathering herbs to make up for the ruined herbs. You cannot hunt or trespass. 20. The elders need fresh bedding. Spend the day gathering moss and putting it around the elder in your clan. Once you've gathered nine moss and given it to the elder, you're free to hunt for the rest of the day. 21. Your mentor injured themselves and cannot take you out of camp for the rest of the day. Stay within 3 tiles of camp [not including the camp tiles themselves] and only hunt, gather herbs, or moss.

Heavy rain has caused the rivers to flood [if no rain currently, the previous day, or the day before the previous day REROLL]. For the rest of the day and the entire next day, you cannot cross the river anywhere and if you go into a tile with a river in it, you lose half health [stand in a battle until health is halved]. If you get a task the next day that requires you to enter a river tile/cross the river, REROLL. 16. Heavy rain has ruined all the herbs and prey! [If no rain currently or the day before, reroll]. You have to spend all day getting herbs and prey. Get at least 6 herbs and 6 prey. [If you fail to do so before 10 pm, you lose 2 reputation.] 17. You got whitecough from another apprentice and have to stay in camp or in the tile just outside of camp entrance for the whole day. If you go further then this, you get greencough and have to stay in camp [not even going into the tile just outside] for the entire next day too. If you've gathered some herbs and have 1 feverfew [for whitecough] or 2 feverfew [for greencough] in stock, you can heal it immediately. 18. There was a huge battle at Sunningrocks and many warriors got hurt. Do tasks for the clan's medicine cat for the entire day, except tasks to get feverfew which you can cancel as these don't treat injuries. You may trespass into Riverclan and Shadowclan. In Shadowclan, run if you see a patrol, but you can fight Riverclan patrols as they're who injured the warriors in the first place. 19. Heavy rain has flooded Riverclan, destroying much of their food and herbs. Your leader orders you to hunt until your inventory is full and give the food to RiverClan [to give the food to them, find a battle with RiverClan cats, drop the food for them and wait until they destroy it before leaving. Do not attack them!] 20. Your medicine cat apprentice asks you to gather herbs to prepare for leaf-bare. You must do 2 tasks for them before 10 pm. You can trespass if needed, but do not fight any patrols you meet while trespassing. If you fail to do this before 10 pm you lose two reputation. 21. Your mentor suggests you hunt some prey to stock up for leaf-bare. You spend the entire day hunting in ThunderClan territory. You may optionally gather herbs you find within ThunderClan territory.

Greencough is spreading through the camp and the medicine cats are short on feverfew. Go to gather 9 feverfew (3 full stacks) from the area around the WindClan moor, but don't go onto the moor itself. If you fail to get back before 8 pm, a cat dies without feverfew and you lose 9 reputation [eat prey not from the fresh-kill pile until you have 9 less reputation to simulate this]. 9. Your mentor tells you to go hunt to help with the shortage of prey. Spend the entire day hunting in ThunderClan territory. 10. All the water in ThunderClan camp has frozen over! You need to soak some moss from the river and bring it back to camp for the cats to drink. Get 3 full stacks [9 total] moss and drop it in the river before picking it back up and returning to camp with it. You cannot drink in camp and have to go to a river to drink. 11. Your medicine cat is short on herbs. Do 2 tasks for the medicine cat apprentice. You can trespass, but run from any patrols you see and don't fight back. If you fail to complete the 2 tasks before 10 pm, you lose 2 reputation. 12. Your medicine cat is short on herbs. Do 2 tasks for the medicine cat apprentice. You can trespass, but run from any patrols you see and don't fight back. If you fail to complete the 2 tasks before 10 pm, you lose 2 reputation. 13. Your mentor lets you go/takes you out to practice hunting specific prey. Roll 1-3: you have to catch 3 of that prey before 10 pm. You may not trespass in other clan's territories. [1: Mouse, 2: Squirrel, 3: Thrush.] 14. One of the clans has been causing trouble recently! Roll 1-3 to see which one [1: River, 2: Wind, 3: Shadow]. You have to fight any patrols of this clan that you see. You can also participate in a task from the deputy if you are fighting that specific clan. 15. Your mentor decides to take you out to a battle. Do 1 task for the deputy [but you can run if you need to.] 16. There has been a badger scented in the territory. Stay within 3 tiles of ThunderClan for the rest of the day, not including the camp. 17. A group of rogues has been scented nearby. Your mentor decides to take you for battle training to prepare for a possible fight: spend until 2 pm in the Training Hollow, and do not hunt. You are allowed to upgrade your Claws attack skill or obtain/upgrade the Feral Slash attack skill [can be done at the clan's Trainer.] After you've finished you must stay within 3 tiles [not including the camp] of ThunderClan while hunting/gathering herbs for the rest of the day. 18. A huge blizzard tore through camp, freezing prey and herbs and injuring some of the cats. Roll 1-4: if 1 or 3, you need to spend the day hunting for prey and herbs, gathering at least 6 of each before 10 pm. If 2 or 4, you need to help with injured cats, do 2 tasks for the medicine cat apprentice before 10 pm. If you fail to do either of these you lose 2 reputation. 19. The clan is short on food and the kits and elders are weak. Spend all day hunting and catch at least 9 prey: if you fail to do so before 10 pm, you lose 2 reputation. 20. Dogs have been reported in ShadowClan territory and around the Thunderpath. Avoid Thunderpath tiles and do not cross into ShadowClan territory for the rest of the day and the entire next day [if the next day you get a task requiring you to cross the Thunderpath, REROLL]. You can hunt and collect herbs the rest of the day. 21. One of the clans has been causing trouble recently! Roll 1-3 to see which one [1: River, 2: Shadow - you don't share a WindClan border]. You have to patrol the border you share with this clan for the rest of the day, hunting if you see prey and fighting any patrols of this clan you meet.

Catch at least 5 prey before 10 pm that night, then return to camp and add them to the fresh-kill pile. 9. Your leader sends you to do a battle. Do 1 task for the deputy [but you can run if you need to.] 10. Dogs have been seen in the territory. Stay within 3 tiles of ShadowClan [not including the camp itself] for the rest of the day, and if you have an apprentice turn them off. 11. You accidentally chased a thrush onto the Thunderpath towards ThunderClan territory and caught it, and were seen and accused of stealing prey by ThunderClan. -4 reputation, and spend the rest of the day doing tasks for the nursery queen, avoiding ThunderClan territory and any ThunderClan cats you see. 12. One of the clans has been causing trouble recently! Roll 1-3 to see which one [1: Thunder, 2: Wind, 3: River]. You have to fight any patrols of this clan that you see. You can also participate in a task from the deputy if you are fighting that specific clan. 13. The kits got into the medicine cat den and made a mess of the herbs! Spend the rest of the day gathering herbs to make up for the ruined herbs. You cannot hunt or trespass. 14. A late frost made everyone in the camp cold, and the kits and elders are complaining. Spend the day gathering feathers from the areas surrounding WindClan [but do not go onto the actual moor!] until you have 9 [3 stacks of 3] and then put them around the elder and kits of your clan so they stay warm. 15. Snowmelt has swelled the rivers, and they're flooded [REROLL if on 6th day of Newleaf or later.] You must avoid rivers for the rest of the day and the entire next day, and lose half health [stand in a battle until health is halved] if you enter a river tile. If you get something requiring you to cross a river/be on a river tile the next day, REROLL. 16. There are rumors of dogs in WindClan. Avoid the entire quarter of the map containing WindClan for the rest of the day and the entire next day: if you roll anything that would require you to enter WindClan’s quarter of the map, REROLL. 17. Some of the kits got into the prey and ruined it all! Spend the entire day hunting to make up for the ruined prey. 18. The kits are in a playful mood and getting under everyone's feet. Help out the nursery queen of your clan and do at least one, but ideally two, tasks for her. You may not enter other clan's territory. 19. Go up to WindClan and gather 6 feverfew, but do not fight any patrols or trespass on the moor “highland” itself. You cannot hunt until you have all 6 feverfew. If you arrive back later them 10 pm, the elder gets greencough and although they survive, you lose 4 reputation. 21. You accidentally chased a thrush onto the Thunderpath towards ThunderClan territory and caught it, and were seen and accused of stealing prey by ThunderClan. -4 reputation, and spend the rest of the day doing tasks for the nursery queen, avoiding ThunderClan territory and any ThunderClan cats you see.
