Hello OWO
These kinds of threads used to be super popular, and since Kat said she wanted to make one of these threads, I thought, let’s bring the tradition back.
So without further ado, here are some Hip and Cool facts about me:
1. When I was 0 years old, I was born in Panama. However when I was 2, my family moved back to the US of A, so I have duel citizenship. I’ve got dirty blonde hair I sometimes dye lighter, and I wear glasses because contacts suck.
2. I am somewhat bilingual. My native language is English, but I have been studying Japanese for a bit less than a decade. I’m nowhere near as good as I should be at Japanese (studying is hard), but I can converse in it and read most things as long as I have a dictionary and time.
3. I took Spanish in high school for 2.5 years, and I was very good at it at the time. I have not used or practice Spanish in any capacity since then, so I have effectively lost all my ability to speak or read it. Also, since learning Japanese, I have found I cannot speak Spanish with the correct accent. I compulsively speak in a Japanese accent when I attempt to speak Spanish.
3. I graduated from university in 2019. My major is Asian Studies, and I have minors in Japanese and Linguistics. I spent one academic year studying abroad at Seinan Gakuin University in Fukuoka, Japan (about 10 months). I miss the learning environment of school, and I miss Japan a lot too.
4. I got married in August 2020. I don’t know what else to say about this other than my husband is super awesome.
5. I work full-time as a Legal Administrator, which I don’t even know how to explain what I do. Basically I sit at a computer all day and check on paperwork and send emails and stuff. It’s not fun, but it’s a job… for now. The plus side is that I get to work from home almost every day of the week, which means less driving and being around people.
6. I would prefer not to have to work, but if my fate is such that I must, my dream job is to become a translator from Japanese to English. I’m not at a high enough skill level yet, but I’m practicing when I have motivation so I’m always moving a little closer to my goal.
7. My hobbies include reading, writing, dnd, gaming, watching shows, and I occasionally dabble in art.
Favorite Books: Percy Jackson, the Hunger Games, Fablehaven
Currently Reading: Legend of Drizzt
Favorite Shows: RWBY, She-ra, Angel Beats!, Clannad
Currently Watching: What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?, The Owl House
Favorite Games: Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Stardew Valley, Bandori, Pokemon
Currently Playing: Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Cattails, Rune Factory 5, Bandori
Favorite DND race/class: Any kind of elf as a cleric of the light domain
Current campaign: Homebrew RWBY campaign with about 20 main original characters under my control. It’s a 1x1 campaign I DM for my James; also doing the Frozen Sick campaign with another group
Favorite things to write: Poetry, fantasy fiction, roleplays, and sometimes fanfiction
Currently writing: Mainly working on my homebrew RWBY campaign
8. My biggest pet peeve is when people refuse to repeat themselves when I ask them to. I have auditory processing issues so most of the time when someone speaks to me without clearly enunciating their words or getting my attention first, it all sounds like static.
9. I started making a list of my weaknesses but it got too long, rip. My biggest weaknesses are that I am not very patient, and I’m extremely introverted so any social interaction drains me very quickly. Also, I have emotional dysregulation issues (probably an ADHD thing), so I have a very difficult time processing emotions in a healthy way. I get overstimulated easily, so experiencing emotions activates that sense of overstimulation and causes me to lash out. This is why I prefer to communicate via writing, where it is easier to have self-control.
10. My favorite color is blue, and I always say my color motto is “blue, green, and everything in between.”
11. My favorite foods are yakisoba (Japanese stir fry), tonkotsu ramen, fettuccine alfredo, pad thai, and mac and cheese. As you can tell, I love noodles…………………………. Also I love chicken, fish, and eggs.
12. My favorite animal is cats, they are so soft and cuddly and can rip your face off. They are elegant and graceful and also clumsy and love to knock stuff off shelves. They are the perfect creation. I just wish we didn’t get allergies OTL
13. I’m Bi/Panromantic Asexual and cisgender (I usually just refer to myself as bi ace). I’ve known this was my identity since I was 14, so it has been about a decade now. I discovered I was bi due to someone I met on this forum, and that was a very difficult time for me, as it took a long time to accept this about myself.
My preferred pronouns are she/her but I would also be fine being referred to as they/them.
14. I eat when I’m bored because I need stimulation. I prefer to just not buy junk food so I’m not tempted (as I have no self-control), but my husband has a huge sweet tooth so he is always bringing junk food home.
15. I love to huddle up in blankets on my bed. It is my preferred location to be at any given time.
16. I also enjoy taking walks, as there is a park nearby that is pretty and has ducks and stuff in the spring.
17. Spring and Summer are my favorite seasons, as I deal much better with the heat than the cold.
18. I have seasonal allergies, and am also allergic to cats and horses. I grew up with cats and horses as pets, but my allergies weren’t deadly so I just dealt with it and snuggled them.
19. The name Rippleshadow is based off of one of my characters from the first Warriors fanfiction I wrote, a medicine cat who has wavy black fur (hence the name Rippleshadow). Although I am not super into Warriors anymore, I go by Ripple pretty much everywhere on the internet, so if you see an account called Rippleshadow or SazanamiKage (literal translation into Japanese), that might be me.
If it isn’t me… well… I’m angry at them for stealing my username >.>
20. I want to move back to Japan someday.
That’s all I can really think of at the moment. Feel free to put some shenanigans in the comments below, ignore this, or ask me questions. Thankies :3c
Edit:
Also I just realized I posted this in the off-topic section but there is a different board for threads like this lol oops
So Citrine do you wanna move this for me
