Yvonne observed the crowds of students quietly, tugging on a loose strand of hair. Ah, ice cream she thought happily, though not a trace of her happiness showed on her face. Her arms swinging at her sides, she approached the ice cream cart. She watched with a bemused expression as the nervous second year who ran the cart nearly bowed ninety degrees as she approached, rambling on about how well she and Katashi did that morning. She didn't respond, only took her ice cream and left. She took a lick of the vanilla cone, checking her phone for the umpteenth time. The match she saw earlier was still going on (What a long match...), and it was almost noon. Though she was eating, she mused about what she'd have for lunch.
"Ah, okay! That just about completes that display case..." Masaru noted aloud, picking up a clipboard from nearby and checking off three boxes. He took the completed skeleton gingerly, and placed it into a glass case, to be moved later after the match concluded. "Alrighty then! You've still got time? I still need to talk to a 'Kito Yoneda'. He's part of the special effects team, and is supposed to be here to help handle the holograms..." He drifted off, wringing his hands. The Yoneda fellow was a talented worker, but he could be anywhere on campus, it wasn't a guarantee that the pair could find him. "He's a little bit of a recluse, so I don't have his contacts. He's probably at the dorms, but I'm not so sure."
Katashi lay sprawled on his bed, his eyes closed and the back of his hand placed over his forehead. He hummed a short tune to himself and sat up, clapping his cheeks with his palms like he used to do as a child. Ah, what's gotten into me? I should go apologize later, he thought to himself before rubbing his eyes. Pulling the sling over his head, he took out the remaining sandwiches and put most of it in his fridge, leaving just one. Peace offering, you know? Unwrapping a lolipop Ayako had given him before they came to school, he stuck it in his mouth and lazily lay back down.
Ayako nodded, taking in his words with great interest. Actually, she was wondering why she didn't join the Archeology Club last year. It seemed really fun, but perhaps she had just wanted to stay on familiar ground. Being in two clubs at a time could be tiring! "We've got the whole morning, you know!" Ayako pointed out with a cheerful smile.

Mai rolled up with a huff, meeting Kanon's eye. She wasn't going to give up, not easily, anyways. She clenched and unclenched her fists, staring him down and waiting for him to make a move. The dust screen was starting to fade now, though their surroundings were still dull as dust floated slowly around her and where she and Kanon had been just a few seconds ago.

Yvonne sat at a picnic table grouchily, biting into her soft serve with a small frown. She swiped up and down the screen, only half paying attention to the words flashing past. What was up with Katashi? She thought, sighing annoyedly. Her scrolling increased in speed until she couldn't see anything but a blur. She put her phone down onto the table and drummed her fingers on the rough wooden surface of the table as she finished the remnants of her ice cream. It was still rather early in the day.
"Well, I suppose. Don't forget we still have a lot of things to do." He frowned, thinking for a moment before nodding curtly. "Anyhow, let's go. We shouldn't waste too much time." He dusted off his hands and spoke briefly with the head of the club before heading towards the entrance, clutching a clipboard in one arm.
"Yvonne!" Katashi whined to the other breathlessly, obviously annoyed. His eyebrows were furrowed and a frown was evident on his face. The senior really was more of a weakling than most people would expect of him at first. His eyes quickly scanned through the freshmen girls and he managed to utter one of the most cliqued questions in history. "Nice weather we're having, eh?"
"A-ah, oh!" Ayako whipped around, her hair giving a slight bounce. She had managed to exchange a few short words with the vendor, appearing to have recognized him vaguely, perhaps from her years in elementary. He worked quickly while talking, and her ice cream and custard taiyaki was presented to her in a thick paper cone, along with a few minor candy-related toppings. She licked her lips in delight and also moved to the side allowing Masaru to pass her.
"It'll be alright," Satoshi said, patting her shoulder gently. "I'm glad you've put up with the pain without complaining at all, though," he added thoughtfully. He had snapped a few pictures after some adjustments and judging by his expression, it was exactly as he had said before. Not serious at all. He'd make a cast now, but it'd be off very soon.
Yuki looked up at Satoshi when she heard his comforting words and curved her lips to a smile. She stood still as he patted her shoulder and took the pictures, felling a sense of stillness and relaxation. She closed her eyes for a second and felt drowsiness weigh her down to the point where she was leaning on the bar. More pain shot through her arm and she swiftly straightened, letting out a small gasp.

Kanon came to his feet, smiling. The dust was starting to clear up, and he could see Mai more clearly now, even though she was still slightly obscured by the dust screen. Glancing over at Kouki, he sighed. He was getting rather tired, and he hadn't listened to music all day. Maybe they should continue this later.

Seizing this opportunity, Mai charged for Kanon and swung a punch for his ribs. She didn't use all the force she could muster, hoping to not break a rib or two of his, but if it was too much force anyway and she did break his ribs, well, there wasn't much she could do. If any damage like that happened, it would hopefully only be a fracture instead of a break.
Sucking on the lolipop happily, Katashi wondered what he was missing... but then again, he had only come in perhaps ten minutes ago. Well, I'm fine now. I mean, I feel fine, the boy thought to himself, pulling a strand of hair behind his ear. Although he was mostly a quiet individual, he couldn't help liking to stick to action. Or in this case, Yvonne. The first day of his freshman year, he found her to be just about taller than him already. Her personality had changed too. That took quite a bit of getting used to. Slipping his jacket off, he walked into the bathroom to go wash his face.
"Ehe, I guess that's true," Ayako agreed, tailing after Masaru. Her eyes were on the sparring pair to her right. Currently, a girl and a boy both with dark hair were battling, and she recognized one of them as Mai. They haven't conversed much, but she's seen her around a couple of times in her freshman year. The third opponent that Ayako had saw with them while she came in was nowhere to be seen. She ran up to Masaru from behind, noticing the large gap between the two. "So where will we be looking for him?" she asked, half-jogging.
"Are you okay?" Satoshi asked, worried. His eyebrows were raised and angled slightly upwards, surprised. "Don't put too much pressure on yourself," he advised, giving her an encouraging smile before peering at the pictures he had taken. Yuki was lucky that it was only a small crack, almost invisible, really. The bone was still in one piece, thankfully. She didn't need any surgery, just a cast to keep it in place until it heals. "If you're thinking of attending any battles by yourself, don't go for any for a couple of weeks. Sometimes it starts to hurt even when you think it's completely healed."

Yuki nodded at Satoshi once again, really too shy to talk. As Satoshi mentioned battles, the shyness flee away. "Actually, I don't have a power yet." She informed him.

"Oh, that's right. You're still a first-year aren't you? Don't worry about it too much and it'll come to you eventually. Being without an ability until your second year is extremely rare so I'm guessing you'll find it within a month or even a week; that's when most of the students' awakening celebrations are held," Satoshi said, digging the drawers for a medical stockinette.
Sliding to the side, Kanon felt the whoosh of air where Mai had almost punched him. Grumbling, he decided to call off the spar. For now, anyways. "Hey guys, can we continue this another time? I've got a lot of stuff to catch up on."

Kouki watched the two calmly, his gaze never straying from them. As Kanon decided to call it quits he tilted his head slightly, blinking. "You're giving up?" He questioned, his tone holding an almost incredulous edge to it. It would lessen the number of players in the match, but he had been hoping someone would get knocked out rather than just leave. He narrowed his eyes some, leaning forward on where he was sitting as his eyes met Kanon's.

"Well, he did half loose his sanity." Mai called up to Kouki with a shrug. "But I'll be glad to continue." She added quickly. She took a few wide steps back so that, if Kanon decided the resume the spar, he couldn't hit her when she was hardly ready.
