Haunted Home "Home Sweet, Haunted, Home"
(For Halloween, enjoy!) Haunted houses are only gimmicks for the soul who wants to be frightened out of his wits, or the ones forced into it… Anything and everything in those stale houses are fake and cheesy… they have little substance... the accusations go on and on about the beloved, albeit declining, haunted house.
Are they really, though?
Yuleberry Towers: Yuleberry Towers, coined “Haunted Home”, is an apartment building that, over the years, has been transformed into a year-round haunted house. The whole of a once quaint building, has turned intimidating and dark, with stately spiraling towers, a dark coat of chipping plum paint, and towering storm clouds that constantly hang overhead. Though the majority of the public agree that all tenants collectively work together to create the haunted house experience, others speculate that the tenants are truly monsters. Though searches have never revealed anything particularly out of place, the truth remains behind closed doors.
- Though some tenants are human and simply stay out of the way, others are actually monsters, and work in the haunted house, though they remain on the down-low. - Each and every monster has been trained to be able to morph into a somewhat human if not fully human form. - Every monster has an assigned working position in the haunted house (i.e. screamer, ticket-taker, etc.) , though some humans can too. No outside monsters or tenants work in the haunted house.
Two Gargoyles border the front of the ‘Haunted Home’. They greet customers as well as deliver messages around the building. Gargoyles themselves are often short, and of stone, though somehow able to move fluidly. They have long, spiraling horns, fangs, and dragon-like wings. Their body structure is often bony and sharp, and personalities are often protective, but friendly.
Zombies often chase after the customers. The zombie tenants at Haunted Home are not allowed to physically attack anybody, for they easily overpower the other and let emotions get the best of them. Though often portrayed as a strictly brain-eating monster, zombie tenants at Haunted Home are carnivorous, and can be satisfied with a medium-rare steak. Zombies often have a sickly pale gray-ish skin, with rotting or missing body parts and a thin body structure. Their personalities are often very impulsive.
Dolls are often quiet, and do not exactly need to move much to frighten customers. They have a very creepily innocent appearance, with fancy clothing and skin of varying materials, from porcelain to worn fabric. They will have glassy eyes that cannot close, and range from small to large. They are often manipulative, and seem more innocent than they actually are.
Vampires stay strictly on lower floors, in rooms with no windows. They can be stationed anywhere if following those guidelines, and will spring at customers, though, again, unable to actually hurt them. They enjoy blood the most, but otherwise can be satisfied with something of a similar crimson hue or coagulated pig’s blood. They have extremely pale, often paper white, skin, and long fangs that may peek out similarly to buck-teeth. However, they cannot actually drink from these, and must extract blood through other ways. They are often taller and stronger than the other tenants, and have a charming personality.
Though a sea monster on land may seem rather ridiculous, Haunted Home make the necessary accommodations for them. They often creep up on customers. In apartment rooms with knee-deep water, these sea monsters can range from huge to small, but most will often remain in a semi-human form. It has a green-blue skin that has a slimy and damp texture to it. They have haunting eyes that often don’t have a pupil, and are normally very muscular from the amount of swimming they accomplish. They often seem somewhat traumatized, but otherwise quiet.
These often lay dormant in wait for customers, and startle them when it is time. They may have small amounts of skin or rotting flesh left on them, but otherwise are often made solely of ivory bones. They make a sort of clanking noise when moving. They have a very jolly and kind personality most of the time.
Wrapped in aging gauze or linen, these mummies are often in their sarcophagi, becoming active only when disturbed. They may have strips of cloth unwinding, revealing rotting flesh underneath. Their eyes, which are sometimes visible, are often, but not limited to, a red or yellow color. They have a very lazy, but aggressive personality.
Ghosts are scattered all throughout Haunted Home, very common in every room, but only seen when they want to be. They can become visible as well as invisible at will, and can transcend objects. They are often very dull, as if the color is leaking out of them, and may have dislocated or missing parts indicating as to how they died. They do not have feet, and hover about the ground. They are mourning, but when humored very talkative.

Tenants
Celine Bellerose mango sago Appears 14, Actual age unknown Doll Female Despite looking somewhat young, she has a thick air of elegance. She is quiet and polite, but seldom allows anyone to hear her inner thoughts, which are dark and brooding. Her thoughts at times frighten her into an odd , but it fades very quickly. It’s almost as if she has a demon living inside of her, but she does well enough suppressing him. She gets along well enough with everyone in the building, but doesn’t have any truly close friends who she is eager to see, despite enjoying company. She hates to be left out of things and events, and might be seen as annoying for the effort she puts into finding out every last detail about a person. She also enjoys being creepy, finding humans amusing, but also subconsciously wants them to treat them as any other being Monster: She has tightly curled, stringy purplish-red hair weaved along the sides of her head for sake of keeping it out of the way, though a short section stills runs down from a bun in the back. Her skin is smooth shiny porcelain, and cracked into many small pieces, webbing across her face and her hands. Her skin also shows evidence of age, for though it is very pale, it is somewhat yellowed. She has small, frail hands and feet, and is dressed in a pale blue silk dress that reaches her ankles. It is frilly and dainty, albeit ripped in some places, and she pairs it with a shiny pair of flats, rather pretty, but very old. Her smile is eerie and most notably thin, webbing creating a sort of stich pattern along her lips. She moves stiffly from failing joints, but her job doesn't require much movement, thankfully. Her eyes are a brilliant purple, and are somewhat larger than a classic doll eye, which is large in itself. Like the typical doll, she cannot blink. However, she may sport a pair of circular wire-rim glasses. Human: She grows larger in height, as well as loses most of her webbing, though some remains along her legs. Her eyes are now green, and though she has some difficulty doing so, she can blink. However, she retains her purplish red hair. Her favorite dress is often switched out for a more casual cardigan with a T-shirt and jean shorts for the sake of keeping inconspicuous, but she continues to wear her flats, for she quite likes them. Screamer – She has a strong, high-pitched voice. She often carries around a torn or otherwise deformed plush from her collection. She cannot consume food, whether in her human or doll form.
Tanaquil Colte Whitenight around 16 Sea Monster Female Tana is mostly shy and quiet, she stays out of trouble, but is loyal and a great friend. She is peaceful, but has a lot of strength both physicaly and mentaly. Human: She is tall with long blonde hair and shining golden eyes. Her usual outfit are: dark blue shirt, shorts and she never wears shoes. Has a fish tail. Monster: She looks like a water dragon snake with no arms, her eyes are the same golden color with slits. Kierdan Sands mango sago Appears about 16, real age estimated to be 500 Gargoyle Male First and foremost, Kierdan has a very fiery personality, he has a wit and a sharp tongue often unmatchable by any other monster. He emits a charismatic aura, and is very stubborn in what he has grown up believing. He is extremely extroverted, and talks to anyone willing to listen. He may even get to the point of seeming rather pushy and nosy, though he insists he's just being 'neighborly'. Amongst newcomers he is a welcome relief from the often quiet monsters that live in Yuleberry, and he is easy to have small talk with, though he becomes confused or flustered at anything beyond that. He has a tightly knit group of friends, but is very welcoming and has an odd charm to him. He is enamored with the lifestyle of humans, and will often be seen mimicking their mannerisms, just to see how one might feel. Monster: He is a relatively scrawny gargoyle, smaller than most and yet just as frightening. His eyes are often held squinted and his brow angrily furrowed. He has no hair upon his deformed head, though two abnormally large curling horns spike out from each side of his head. His hands are veiny and somewhat muscular, his nails resemble claws. He also has a pair of dragon wings, longer than they are wide, and may curl them up tightly against his back for sake of convenience. He will often wear just basic human clothing, and his eyes are a piercing icy blue. He is well suited for battle Human: He has slate blue hair that reaches just above his ears, which are slightly pointed, similar to an elf's. He has strong and pronounced features, and a tall build, despite being a small gargoyle. His eyes remain a pale blue, and he sports a variety of clothing, though most often a shirt with 'hawaiian' flowers decorating it. He thinks it makes him look inconspicuous, while really making him look somewhat awkward. Guard/Greeter He spends most of his time in between forms, for the convenience of his wings but to keep the appearance of a human.

Leilah Hydrangea Myosostis ♪♫•*Crescent-o♪♫•* Appears 13, age unknown Doll Female Quiet, sometimes dark or sadistic. She is very innocent, or so she wants people to think. Moody. Leilah may seem heartless or blunt, but she's just very logical. Smart, especially with words, she is usually with a book in her spare time. Also quite talented in artwork. Leilah may seem faraway, leading people to talk even when she truly is listening. She seems to know everything that's happening, but that's just from listening(cough cough eavesdropping). Manipulative, her appearance gets others to do things for her. She can get annoyed by pats on the head from her cute size/appearance. Leilah is not one to love, and it is hard to get her to. Human: Pale, flawless skin and unfocused large eyes. Leilah has long plum-black hair and ice blue eyes. She has long black lashes and always flushed cheeks. She is skinny, but not overly frail. She is usually in a gothic lolita style of clothing. SHe wears a lot of poofy black dresses and lace. Cute and easy to tease. She stands at 4' 9'. Monster: She has bone china skin. Leilah has a crack running from her right eye down to her jaw bone. She keeps the most of her human appearance, though with ball joints. She also has a large hole in place of her left eye, with a hydrangea growing from it. She has no smile, just a blank face. She hangs limp, usually from a window ledge. Her eyes remain unblinking and half-closed. 3' 5" in doll form. Hollow. Her fashion is once again lolita and lacey. She just sits there, often seeming to appear right in front of a person, sometimes dropping onto their faces. A jump-scarer?
Rosabella Beaulieu
♪♫•*Crescent-o♪♫•* 16 Vampire Female Rosabella is charming and charismatic. A true extrovert, she's quite friendly. Teasing, but not to the extent of harmfulness. Rosa can seem very laid-back, even lazy. She is not the most trustworthy girl. Rosabella is a bit of a heartbreaker or player, but it's mostly for entertainment. Human: Rosabella has pale skin with slightly freckled cheeks. She is lithe and graceful. Her eyes are a dark crimson red as with her hair. She usually wears dark red clothing, or black. Somtimes in bright colors, though rarely. She prefers jeans over skirts and sweaters over blouses. She stands at 6'1" with long legs. Monster: Rosabella's elongated canines are seen peeking from her upper line of teeth. She seems taller than she was and more pale. Her eyes turn brighter with vertical pupils. Her pointed ears are showing through her tied hair. She is now at 6' 4" and even more lithe. She's another casual jump-scarer, yawning from her coffin, "accidentally" hitting someone. Her long teeth often glint in the moonlight.
Elizabeth (Liz) Walter pumeii Looks to be about 15, real age unknown. Ghost Female Liz is very quiet. Yet when she speaks, it's often a smart remark or something very sarcastic. Liz is also quite self conscious, so the last thing she'll want to talk about is herself and her past. She often slouches when she sits and will often be seen lost in deep thought. Liz has dull grey skin drained of blood flow. The hair that ends at the middle of her back is a dark black and is usually seen unbrushed and tangled. Besides her hair, she has deep blue eyes and wears a dark grey dress ending at her knees as attire. Because she died from a heart attack from anorexia, she is very thin. Tenant, jump scarer? However, she likes to mess with people's minds.. idk what you'd call that Liz is actually very weak when it comes to using offensive and defensive skills. However, she is very smart.
Break Wraith Menagerie He appears to be around 15 or 16 years old, however his actual age is around 216, give or take a few years.
Vampire
Male
He could be described as having a troublesome attitude and violent nature, for the most part. Others describe him as lazy and disrespectful, especially towards adults. He takes particular delight in messing with others, and has absolutely no qualms about fighting and bloodshed. He has questionable morals, with a tongue that can trick and manipulate even the most perceptive of people, at least in his opinion. It's near impossible to tell what he's thinking, and though he often appears relaxed and childish, he's brutal in a fight. Sometimes he'll try to anger someone else just for the fun of it, and likes freaking people or just giving them a good scare. He dislikes the fact that he can't harm the people that come through the haunted house, pushing his limits when someone comes to his area, though just restraining himself. He has to admit he enjoys the job, so he'll refrain from harm, at least until he gets bored. Despite all this, he likes to maintain his bonds with other people who actually put up with him, and shows his affection in interesting ways.
Human Appearance: Albeit less terrifying than his monster form, there is still something off about the looks of this boy. His eyes are a bright, pure red, like fresh blood running from a wound. His skin is pale but has a tan undertone; it's not especially noticeable unless you're really looking. His hair is a light blond, holding a golden sheen to it in the sunlight (if he ever goes out during that time), and just reaches his ears. His smile is what puts people off; its not quite pure. There's just something off about it, like he's hiding something. His clothing is simple, often wearing t-shirts with shorts or jeans and sneakers, or going barefoot if he's in the mood. Though he always wears a pretty red scarf around his neck. There's always something on his person, whether it be knives or snacks. It really depends.
Monster Appearance: As a monster, his skin possesses a much paler tone, similar to that of bones. His ears become slightly longer and more pointed. His eyes sharpen in their intensity, the pupils shrinking into slits that seem to pierce into your very soul. His fangs are simple, nothing too large or small, however extremely sharp; one touch will prick your finger like a needle. His hair grows longer as well, reaching to his middle-back and becoming lighter in color, nearing a whitish shade. He often keeps it in a low ponytail that makes the tip appear to be shaped like a fox's tail. He grows a few inches taller, not too noticeable, but more comfortable in his opinion. His clothes vary depending on his mood, ranging from a professional boyish attire to nightmarish gothic styles.
Jump-scarer; he'll jump out from the dark and seems to appear out of thin air when you least expect it.
He's relatively new to the haunted house, only having been there a few weeks.
Pretty quiet and playful with the humans and knows how to talk but only from being dead. The rest of her personality is quiet secretive.
A shaggy furred monster-looking cat. Shes very old looking too, "living" longer the most cats. She was ginger but now is a dark, burnt, dulled brown with red eyes, which used to be amber. Shes missing the tip of her tail and the tips of her ears. Shes burnt too.
Helping with the scaring by haunting animal dolls and stuff.

Quietly, Celine sat on a chair too large for her small doll body, whose legs swung fully suspended in the air. She clutched a handful of her worn blue dress as she shakily made her way down, giving a practiced hop to reach the ground. She semi-morphed into a human, for sake of convenience. She had much longer strides as a human, but fully morphing would tear her dress. Dragging along a deformed plush doll, she skipped towards her apartment, the monsters' shifts having ended for the day. She believed there was a party going on that night on a lower floor, probably that of a vampire's birthday. The floor pulsated with a pumping music, heard faintly by her small ears. She paid it little mind, though somewhat bitter that she wasn't invited.
Kierdan leaned into someone's window on a high floor, supported only by the balls of his feet balancing on a feeble ledge. A letter that bobbed from an outstretched hand dipped into the dimly lit room. He called out in a friendly manner. He believed this was a ghost's apartment? No one seemed to be home, and he left the letter on the windowsill. He leapt up, morphing into a gargoyle mid flight and doing a graceful spiral down to the ground, landing on light feet with a satisfied smile. He had quite a fondness for putting on a show. He morphed back into a semi- human, and turned around to face the front doors, of which he pushed open to enter a breezy lobby.
James was somewhat glade that the work day was over as kids or even teenaged humans like himself but kick or throw insults at him awhile working which only the insults thinned out his patience but he never did let it bother him that much unlike a vampire that had literally punched a couple of boys but lucky for her she had a good alibi and other witnesses present to defend her.
Cerise was in the lower basement of the house with music blaring everywhere which made her eye-twitched, she was in her casual clothes that she would wear as a human since parading around in a Victorian-dress was easy for her but she much preferred modern day clothes as it allowed for easier movment, she was sitting way in the back and trying to read a book unlike the other vampires who were partying by a birthday party. Cant they turn it down just a bit? To bad I can't call the cops on them... she thought in her mind which made her smile a little.

(I forgot to say that she has a fish tail in human form.)
Tanaquil was walking down the hallways without any objective. She could feel the vibrations coming from the lower floor and it really irritated her. The girl sighed and kicked the water that was coming from one of the rooms.
With an eerie smile, Celine greeted a passing ghost, whose eyes were downcast and their posture slumped. Though it might be gloomy for a human, this was already quite a good mood for a ghost. She clutched her plush to her stomach as she dug through a pocket to find the rusted key to her apartment. Fishing it out, she tucked it into the keyhole and the door swung open easily, revealing a room painted with muted colors, as if once bright but faded. What was really strange about her room, however, was the sheer amount of plush dolls, all classifying as odd, that sat on wall-to-wall shelves. It was decorated with delicate vintage wood furniture, dusty and looking as though it would topple onto itself at the slightest pressure. She took a deep happy breath of the dusty air, and closed the door quietly behind her.
James flashed a smile at the receptionist, who stared at him blankly from her three pairs of eyes. "Any deliveries?" He asked, leaning on the counter, staring at the empty mailboxes that stood a little ways away. "My shift is over, but I might as well-" He was cut off by an abrupt answer, and her shooing the boy away. He frowned, being that she acted as though he was some delinquint, when really he was probably a lot older than her. Twirling a lock of gray-blue hair in his fingers, he started for the hallways, in search of someone to talk to.
