Taking Off ~ Rogue Clan Challenge
Welcome to Taking Off. Use random.org to roll the dice.
(I'm doing it! Doing my own challenge!)
Backstory:
You pad through the forest, ears pricked for noises around you. You're a rogue cat, and you live with your brother, Yarrow, and your sister, Snow. Your name is (random rogue name here), and you're hunting.
It's been a hard winter: prey is scarce, and the Clan cats have been fiercer then ever. But now it's newleaf: trees are growing and the snow is melting.
You hear a rustle in the leaves. Dropping into a crouch, you stalk forwards, spotting a squirrel's bushy tail waving from the undergrowth. Good! Prey. You steady yourself, and then launch into the air, landing on the squirrel's tail. You lean forwards and bite it's neck, listening for the crunch of bones. When you hear it, you release your grip on the squirrel. It's limp, so you pick it up and carry it to your family's clearing.
But they aren't there.
In their place is the strong scent of Clan cats. Hissing, you scramble after the scent, but you can't find your family. You yowl, hoping for a reply- from Yarrow, Snow... There isn't an answer. Hissing you tear around, yowling, looking for your family...
By the next day, you're tired. So tired. You slept the last few hours of the night, but it was hard.
After all, you've just lost your remaining family.
To the clans.
Even if they're still alive.
Your father to winter, your mother to a flood.
And now
Your siblings
To the CLANS.
How to play
You run away, vowing to get revenge someday. You decide to make a clan of your own, to defeat the other clans - at least to make sure no more cats get stolen.
-Make sure your camp is more then two tiles away from Fourtrees and/or another clan's camp. (so no being within two tiles of that place.)
-You have to have one thing (a tree or lake) in your camp.
-You start with a rogue name, such as 'Trout' or 'Lark', but if you've lead your clan for more then a season and see Coco, you can add '-star' to your name and get nine lives (A.K.A have tons of saved games lol)
-Roll a dice out of 4 to see which clan stole your siblings. (1-ShadowClan, 2-ThunderClan, 3-WindClan, 4-RiverClan). When in battle with this clan, you cannot run away and have to defeat at least 1 warrior.
-Roll a dice out of 10 to see which skill your cat can start with (1- Hold Your Ground, 2- Herblore, 3- Killing Bite, 4- Intimidating Glare, 5- Track Prey, 6- Charge, 7- Lion's Roar, 8- Feral Slash, 9- Sprint, and 10- Upgrade Claw).
-Roll a dice out of 5 to see what prey you're best at catching (1- Mouse, 2- Bird, 3- Frog, 4- Squirrel, 5- Rabbit). (tell me if I forgot any)
-You can start in a clan to get the pelt colors, and make a new cat as a rogue.
-Set your clan up well. Ex: have a leader's den (your's), a warrior's den (the warrior's and deputy's), apprentice's den (the apprentice's), a medicine den (the medicine cat's den, also the one with sick cats), and a nursery. The nursery and medicine den are optional - you may not be that type of clan. More optional dens: elder's den, deputy's den (if he doesn't like the warrior's den), storage den (where you store random things). Set up a graveyard screen - a screen in which you bury cats (ex: bury some moss and place a pebble/herb/feather on it.)
-When the leader dies, play as the deputy or a random warrior. Give them 9 lives and a '-star' suffix ASAP, and choose a new deputy: also, make a grave for the previous cat (use prey or a shiny thing to mark it).
-Use something to number and keep track of your cats.
-Number your warriors somewhere! In a note pad, on your computer, on paper- anywhere. This is so when something happens to one of your warriors, you can roll to see who it is. (EX: you rolled that a random warrior gets Whitecough. You have 5 warriors: Ottertail (1), Mintflower (2), Amberpaw (3), Snowgaze (4) and Wildfang (5). You roll out of 5. You get 2, so Mintflower is the one who gets Whitecough.)
-When you role a random event and don't have any cats like that (EX: you need kits, but you have none) then you can skip the event.
Rules
1- Follow the Warrior Code.
2- You can only roll 2 random events per day, unless one takes up the entire day, then only one.
3- Do not go to sleep after 11 PM - it's NOT! ALLOWED! IN THIS! CHALLENGE! (xD)
4- You can start adding cats before your camp is complete.
5- Until you get the '-star' suffix, your rogues cannot have warrior names: only apprentices and kits can have the '-paw' and '-kit' suffix.
6- When a cat dies, YOU MUST CHASE THEM OFF. I don't care if it's your deputy. You're the only one with 9 lives around here. If you even have them yet.

Random Events
Note that you can only start these when your camp is built and you have at least one cat! (Hunting is an exception)
1- Go hunting. Roll out of five to see which prey to hunt (1- Mouse, 2- Bird, 3- Frog, 4- Squirrel, 5- Rabbit), and roll out of 3 to see how many pieces of it.
2- Go gather herbs. Roll out of 4 to see which herb, (1- Goldenrod, 2- Horsetail, 3- Comfrey, 4- Feverfew.) and roll out of 3 to see how many pieces of it.
3- Train an apprentice/some apprentices. Roll out of 3 to see how many apprentices. Then, number each apprentice and see which apprentice(s) you'll take by rolling out of (number of apprentices). Then, roll out of 2 to see if you'll do hunting training or battle training (1- Hunting, 2- Battling).
4- A fox is in the territory. Go out and reinforce territory border (by placing pebbles, brambles, and moss).
5- A random clan (roll out of 4 to see which: 1-ShadowClan, 2-ThunderClan, 3-WindClan, 4-RiverClan) has raided camp! Go attack 4 patrols of that clan to stop the raid.
6- One of your warriors was killed by a fox. Number each warrior and roll to see who it was. Then, chase that warrior away.
7- A warrior is very sick! Number each warrior and roll to see who it is. Then roll out of 5 to see how many days you have to get herbs. If you have a med. cat and 8 feverfew, you can cure the cat. If not, the cat dies.
8- Your Clan is starving! Catch 3 squirrels for your Clan to get better.
9- Whitecough is spreading through camp! Choose 3 random warriors to have whitecough, and get 4 feverfew for each to cure them. The ones that don't get feverfew die, and ones that get less then 4 feverfew have a small chance to live. Roll out of 3 to see results. (1- Somehow they live, 2- They live, but only for 2 days, 3- they die.)
10- A kit wants to become a medicine cat apprentice. Decide whether they can or cannot.
11- ShadowClan raids your camp! Get rid of 3 herbs and 2 pieces of prey.
12- The water has all frozen/dried up. Roll out of 7 to see how many days it lasts. You can only use moss for that amount of time. (only in winter or summer)
13- A cat from your clan has been hit by a car. They cannot leave camp for a few days. Roll 1-7 to see how many days. Also, roll a number to determine which warrior it is.
14- While you were out of camp, a hawk swooped down and took a kit. Roll out of the number of kits you have to see who was taken. If you don't have kits, make it an apprentice. (only after you've been out of camp)
15- Last night, you had a dream of a fierce battle. You were overlooking it, and another cat stood beside you for a second. Then they slipped down from the rock and started battling, too. You decide to get a deputy the next day. Choose a random warrior. If you already have a deputy, do another event.
