He went back around the last place he saw, eyes searching through the crowd. For once, he actually felt a little too closed in. Havijg to search for someone around lots of people was not fun, he hoped he never would ahve to deal eith this again. "Jay?" He called out once to try for an answer. But with how loud he called he probably wouldnt hear unless he was close by, which he obviously wasnt as Quimm couldnt spot him.
Rose hesitated, as if not believing they were all going to listen. She then took a seat, glancing around the room. "A-as I was going to say before the interruption." She took a deep breath to calm her nerves. "We wont have proof that theyre not evil. Not like this. Like I said before, being brought here, theres barely anything told to us." She was really hoping the boys would behave themselves with this. "And I truly felt the need to help when i came here, it hurt my heart. But I also just... I can feel youre not lying. So, what is one supposed to do when what's supposed to be opposing sides both feel honest?" She was directly asking the king, obviously he had a bias, but how he responded could shape the way the conversation went and the areas of appeasement.
Jaden pulled a face when Oscar mentioned the talk not leading anywhere, unsure if his attitude was something he liked. Probably not, but that could always be fixed. Still, talking to Rose was much more pleasant, so he simply turned his gaze back to her and away from Oscar. "Who is to say that the spirits didnt put those thoughts and feelings into your head?" he asked, repeating things that he and the council had talked about. While he hadn't expected anybody to show up so soon, he'd rehearsed it quite a bit. What he was supposed to say, what he was supposed to do, and so on. Sure, he'd already gone away from that a few times, but the points were still useful.
"You should probably try to figure out which is more honest," he pointed out, a grin on his face. "And then you'll come to find that it is our side." Honestly, even if they didn't agree to help, they were already here. How, exactly, were they planning to get away in case things got sour? Jaden was absolutely sure he had the advantage here.
"What are you?" the man asked, then, suddenly, a grin stretched over his face. "No way! Don't tell me the guards are actually searching for you, I can get rich!" He seemed to not even bother with the fact that he'd tried robbing Jay and had found out due to that. Jay doubted the guards would even care, which meant....
What he did next felt stupid even to them. He drew his own knife, which made the man laugh. "What, you want to fight, boy? This is gonna be fun!" he laughed, taking a step towards Jay. Jay knew that the only way to keep him from getting his own personal manhunt, would be to intimidate this guy enough to make sure he never told a soul.

"But if the 'spirits' put thoughts and emotions in her," Oscar replies slowly, making sure that he wasn't interrupting the king in the middle of a sentence. "Then why would she be here?" Oscar almost copied a grin on the King's face, he had heard once that when you almost imitate the interviewer you would get a higher chance to earn the job- sounds ridiculous I know, but it actually works apparently. "In my opinion, I don't think her spirit has a side, sir." He further dug in the fact that she might just a little bit delusional, just subtly, he didn't want to be too blunt, hes already off with a bad start with the king.
He wouldnt say he was getting worried, no, hed have to care for Jay to be worried, rather he felt invonvienced and mad. By the second he was growing more and more annoyed. So much so, that he almost missed spotting Jay, a larger man blocked his view. His assment of the situation was incredibly quick, one glance and he already moved in silent. With his own blade drawn he closed the distance, bringing his trusty weapon around and up to the mans neck while his other arm held onto him securely for balance. "Kelp quiet."
Rose's head switched from turning to each as they talked, finally grateful at a pause so she could jump in. "I mean, would the spirits really have powers like that? Like i said, theres not much we know." She asked this question to get a sense of Jaden's character and maybe some lore about the spirits. They were elemental, she couldnt think of one having the ability to change someones feelings.
Jay startled the slightest bit when Quinn suddenly appeared, helping him out. His eyes widened slightly in surprise, while the guy just seemed to grow angry. "What do you think you're doing, brat?" he spat, trying to get out of Quinn's hold without cutting himself. "Even know what this boy can do? I can be rich if I turn him in to the king! Tell you what, I'll give you some of the money if you'll help me out."
Jay grimaced as he said that, still feeling his headache. This situation was not something he had wanted to be caught in, but here they were. He really wasn't sure what he was supposed to do right now, though.
"Oooor, I'll take all the money taking him in myself and you get to keep all the blood inside your body. Quinn wasnt going to give him a chance, the second the man moved Quinn pressed harder with the knife. He wasnt scared of doing any damage. However, he knew he could be outdone in strength, if the guy wasnt afraid of getting a little cut he could probably rip him off without sustaining much damage. Quinn was already preparing for that, ready to shift his balance to not give him an opening to attack if he was separated.
For a moment, Jay thought that the man would give up, already letting his guard down a little as he thought that. However, moments later, the man actually ripped him free, not seeming to mind the shallow cut he'd gotten. Jay moved forward, not really sure if he was going to call out something, but it died on his tongue anyway, his body and brain not agreeing with each other. So he stood there, clutching his knife as the man turned to attack Quinn, no doubt.
Quinn dodnt even let out a noise as he was ripped off, he caught himself easy and went right back in, going for a low slice towards his legs. "Idiot!" This was directed at both the man and Jay. While it was obvious with ther enemy, he was mad at Jay for just standing their gaping. What was surprising was, he was actually aiming to do some real damage, going for where he knew arteries were. Quinn didnt like playing good guy.
"Won't it look suspicious if we try to purchase some weapons right after that speech?" Michaela wondered aloud, tapping her cheek thoughtfully. "Ooor, we could pretend we're scared citizens that want to make sure we can defend ourselves." That last part wasn't even too wrong, really. They could probably play that role if they wanted to. "I dunno, haven't really glanced at a weapon shop yet. You think they're even available to the normal public?"
Honestly, if not, they'd just have to do some more risky stuff to get them, but an easier way would be preferred in Michaela's eyes.
“I’m...I’m not sure... back home maybe depending on where ya lived and I’m guessing this place has... not the technology advances that we got too....” Peridot had glanced around at the people around them which she could see some had small swords tied to their sides and their attire was somewhat like theirs yet with a medieval flair.... granted she wasn’t all that knowledgeable at clothes unless you counted going barefoot which she was doing. This place is really, really weird....
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”
The man drew back with a sharp cry, looking at Quinn with shocked eyes. "What the- you could've killed me!" he spat, then whirlled around when Jay stepped closer, hoping that it would make the man feel trapped. He honestly hadn't expected Quinn to do that, though, so he was hoping he didn't look as surprised as he felt.
When Jay took another step closer, the man suddenly turned and fled. "You're both freaks!" he called out over his shoulder as he ran, leaving a small trail of blood behind.
"Did you... seriously try to kill him?" Jay asked after a moment, frowning.
"I mean, the people look enough like us," Michaela replied. "Maybe they've also got shops somewhere." As if hearing her, she suddenly noticed a sign across the street. "Well, I think that sounds promising," she said, pointing at it. The sign had two crossed swords on it, so that would be as good as anything.
"Let's head in," she said, crossing the street quickly. Hopefully they'd even sell stuff to them.
Quinn gave his knife a twirl then wiped the blade on the inside of his shirt. "Doesnt matter now, he ran away." He gave a disinterested shrug and hid away his knife. He didn't bother giving a straight yes or no answer, after all he has made it pretty obvious he was a very morally gray person. "Anyways, how did you manage to get found out a second after I turn my back?" Quinn turned his annoyance on Jay, crossing his arms and staring him down.
Because apparently I didn't reply with Jaden lol. I was actually sure I did. Just scream at me next time I don't reply with him when I should haha.))
Jaden shrugged at that, though he didn't appear like he was really considering that the spirits couldn't influence them. "Who knows if they have a side," he finally replied, leaning back to look up at the ceiling. "Fact is, they murdered my father. Does it really matter if they have a side, in such a case?"
He remained like that for a moment, then looked at them again, smiling. "I'm bad at explaining this because I wasn't there, really. Want me to call in the council? They told me everything," he said, sounding like he'd just come up with something that'd make him win.
Lucius shifted a little at that. "I don't think that's quite necessary, sir," he replied. "Wouldn't want to bother them."
"Nonesense. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to convince you all."
"I didn't!" Jay actually protested, crossing his arms as well. "Actually just dragged me off to rob me, but when I said no to him taking my non-existend money, he went in to attack me." It was obvious by how his voice sounded that he didn't often say this much at once. "And when he did, it was as if he was moving in slow-motion, so I took the chance and got out of his 'stab path'. I didn't even realize it was a power until after."
It had been a weird power, though, and Jay was trying to figure out what exactly it had been.

Oscar felt unsure, he just hope he doesn't look unsure, he remained silent and look at those around the table. If he bring the whole counselor in... well... who knows how that would end up, is he going to deal with bias people? Or actual philosophers? Or was it just going to be more guards?
If he wants revenge, doesn't that mean he's going to kill the spirits? And how was he going to do that? "Well, let's say you managed to capture a... person with a spirit." He watched the King intentively. "How are you supposed to act revenge?"
(Citrine, Salix) [/i] Peridot simply nodded which this place felt strange under foot both literally and figuratively with her being a bit more out of her element then usual, “Perfect timing.” When Michaela pointed out the store’s sign with the two crossed swords which she wondered what kind of weapons they did have here that and if they could afford it with their ‘borrowed’ money as she headed towards the shop. Hope they dont have a shoe policy
“Excuse me sir, but the king is in a meeting with some-“ Vincent had listened to the guard begin his explanation of where the king was at however the man interrupted, “Where is he? Never mind! I got a feeling of where he’s at.” He gently pushed the guard back with the young man walking away down the hall towards where the king was at whenever he would meet with someone however always in the presence of a council member. I guess this is from that speech... either an actual spirit person or some just.... wanna be one.,,

A look of confusion took over Quinn's face instead of annoyance as Jay explained that. "Woah hold up you found your-" he paused for a moment, then switched the topic. "We should move ans talk about that later." The black haired boy began to move before he had to get in a snide comment. "You gonna be able to not get kidnapped or am i gonna have to hold your hand?" Of course he started to already walk away as he finished that statement. Quinn always made it difficult to respond back, like a hit-and-run tactic in fighting.
Rose paled a bit at all that was going on in the conversation, surprisingly opting to keep quiet at the moment. She did not want to talk about the events of a real murder. She would probably end up crying real quick into it. It wasnt the idea of more people joining that worried her, just the thought of talking about real deaths. Horror was one thing, she loved a good scary story, but real life was different.
