“Sure thing, though should we look for weapons first then food? I’d figure weapons will be harder to get with all this ‘king business’.... it won’t be long until we’re found out... not trying to be a downer or what ya call it.” Peridot suggested as finding food should be easier with some vendors out and about however finding things to defend themselves once outside the walls but also in the city with the king wanting the people with spirits to ‘turn themselves in’ for a chat over tea.
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”
Jay wasn't sure if he wanted to find out how Quinn was planning to haggle down the prices, really. So far, Quinn had seemed kind of unpredictable and sketchy at best, and Jay really didn't know how far he'd go. "Sure," he simply agreed, though it was clear he wasn't expecting Quinn to do it the normal way. Or maybe he was, who knew with this guy. "Where do you even want to go shopping...?' he added after a moment, frowning. He doubted there'd be weapon shops so out in the open that would sell stuff to them. Especially after that announcement.
--
The guard seemed about done with Rose, relieved when they finally reached their destination. Two large, beautifully made doors were the only thing separating them from the king, now. "We are here," he announced, raising his hand to knock at the door. Moments later, a voice told them to enter. The guard opened the door, bowing. "Your majesty, I've brought the girl who claims to be involved with the spirits," he spoke, keeping his eyes to the ground.
Jaden, meanwhile, was sitting on a couch at a small table, having one leg crossed over the other. His posture was absolutely straight, not even a single hint of slouching anywhere. "You may now leave," he told the guard with a nod, the gestured for Rose to sit down on the couch opposite of him. "Please, take a seat," he spoke, sounding earnestly curious.
Lucius looked like he wasn't sure if Oscar's idea was one he liked, but quickly put on a smile when they reached the guards. Well, there was no backing out of this now, was there. While the guards looked confused for a moment, it had passed as quickly when Oscar mentioned her talking a lot. "We have orders from the king to still bring them to him," one of them said. "However, maybe you can convince him to cut the talk short."
Lucius dreaded the words he was sure they were going to say next. "We can bring you to them. It is up to his majesty what he decides to do, however."
"Won't it look suspicious if we try to purchase some weapons right after that speech?" Michaela wondered aloud, tapping her cheek thoughtfully. "Ooor, we could pretend we're scared citizens that want to make sure we can defend ourselves." That last part wasn't even too wrong, really. They could probably play that role if they wanted to. "I dunno, haven't really glanced at a weapon shop yet. You think they're even available to the normal public?"
Honestly, if not, they'd just have to do some more risky stuff to get them, but an easier way would be preferred in Michaela's eyes.
"I guess it'll be best to go for food and junk first. If we got chased out wed at least have some kind of weapon already. Getting chased out withiut food would undisreable." He made an understatement, as if it was all some minor inconvenience. "Normally id suggest splitting up, but thats probably pretty dangerous right now. And for me to say that is shocking. So, I think were stuck shopping together. Lets just walk around and find a regular ol' market then."
For a moment, Rose actually quieted down. As the guard bowed she decided to give a curtsey of her own. But as thr doors shut behind her and she was left alone her usual nature was coming back. It probably didnt help thwt the tone Jaden used was obviously curious which she took as a 'go-ahead.' "So I obviously heard your name, you're very charismatic, I'm Rose." She stuck her hand out as to shake but removed it just as fast, "Wait is that considered rude," she sounded sincerly concerned about if her behavior would be taken the wrong way, "I dont really know what to do around a king, like it's kind of a formal greeting but doesnt seem just formal enough. Like I feel like im supposed to stay a bit aways like from movies and junk and like 'no contact whatsoever' but you also seem pretty cool so it's like 'aaah what do I do?' Ya know? I was trying to ask the guard about it but he seemed kind of out of it, I hope hes doing okay." Despite her spoken worries, the way she spoke didnt seem to change, still speaking as fast and adding in things that didnt really matter. "So uhh, yeah! Hows this conversation gonna go?" She questioned as if she didnt just practically have a whole conversation by herself with all that lwft her mouth.

I love rose ))
Oscar gave Lucius arm a quick squeeze, he knows that he sort of bring him along, but if they had to go in, he can do it himself, he didn't need to bring others down with him. "Of course! We do not one our friend to waste Our Majesty's time." He gave his new comrade a glance. "You don't have to come if you don't want to, I know how shy you are around his Majesty." He made sure he spoke loud enough for the guards to hear, so they won't get suspicious.
"Great," Jay replied, though his voice suggested he was feeling anything but happy about going shopping, especially if it was to stock up on things they needed in case worst came to worst. Honestly, there was no saying Quinn wouldn't just ditch him when danger came around, anyway, but then again, the same probably held true the other way around. "Can't say I've seen a market yet," he added, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
He'd not looked around too much, though. He'd mainly stolen some money and had then run into Quinn. And then all of the other stuff had happened.
--
Jaden seemed slightly taken aback for a moment, trying to keep up with what the was even saying. She spoke a lot, but he could get information like that for sure, right? At least she seemed kind of sincere about the whole thing. "I usually don't shake hands," he decided to answer, then waited until she'd finally gotten seated. "How this conversation is going to go is that you're supposed to tell me anything you know about the spirits, and in turn, I'll allow you to join our cause," he replied, resting his head on the palm of his hand.
Honestly, he knew lots of people had been against his idea to even hear these people out, but it was only fair in his eyes. Information for a chance to join the right side sounded like a fair trade-off, didn't it? His eyes never left Rose as he continued, "So, then, what is it that you know about these spirits?"
Lucius sent Oscar a look for a moment, like he couldn't believe all of this. Then, he cleared his throat, deciding that apparently they were now acting. Shy it was, in that case. "T-thank you for your consideration," he started with a smile. "But I would still like to come. I'm sure his majesty will understand my nervousness around his wonderful presence." He wasn't going to be left behind alone, oh no. If that was how it was going to go, they'd just face this all together.
The guard seemed to consider it for a moment, then gave a slight nod. "Alright, please follow me. I will have somebody send message to his majesty in just a moment."
Quinn gave a shrug, "Then I guess we walk around and search." And with that, he looked around and headed off where most people were congregated. Where people were, the necessities were. People needed food and water, people like shopping. So it was onky natural that going where people were would be helpful. Plus, he could empty a few more wallets if need be.
"That's just the thing, there's not much that I know." She furrowed her brows together, she wasnt going to lie about anything. Her gut was telling her not to. "How it goes is I just.. Appeared with a thought that the spirits needed help. And i know I was chosen by one of then. I dont even know which one iwas chosen by. Theres not much given to us but..." Her smile faltered for a moment, "That's why when i heard your speech I thought I had to talk to you. I trust my gut, it doesn't usually lead me wrong." She made sure to look directly at him as she spoke from this point, really wanting to show her honesty and sincerity. "But that's what made it weird, cause both you and the feeling when i first got here seem sincere." Rose bit the inside of her cheek, thinking of the whole situation before she continued. "I mean, I don't think id be someone chosen for something bad. I cry if I have to squish a bug ya know?" She gave a small laugh at that was no exaggeration but realized the implication and quickly continued. "That doesnt mean im discrediting all you said snd calling you a bad guy. I felt my heart drop when you mentioned the murder. I definitely dont think you were lying. So I had to think. Is there maybe something more? A misunderstanding somewhere? Maybe its just me being a little to optimistic I dunno." She gave a sigh and a pout after all that. "Does that make sense, uhh, your majesty? It's confusing to me and im the one speaking it." She flashed a half smile at that, trying to lighten the mood.

Oscar gave Lucius a reassuring grin, trust me I know what I'm doing. "Alright, good sir! Lead the way!" Though he had to wonder he usually try to stay irresponsible situations like this, but that bloody girl had to drag him into it- sure he could leave her behind, but there still a part of him that probably regret it, what if something happens to her? It's too late now, but he just a little over-protective.

Jay grimaced the second Quinn went towards crowds of people again. They'd just gotten out of one, he was really beyond his daily dose of people at this point. However, if he'd gotten into this mess himself by agreeing to go with him, so he sucked it up and followed, barely holding back a sigh. The sooner they'd be out of the crowded places again, the better. Not to mention, at least Quinn seemed like he'd be doing the talking, so Jay was glad about that.
--
Jaden actually managed to stay quiet while she talked, which was a rare feat for him. He often interrupted others while they were speaking, but with Rose, how could he even get a word in? He'd often been told that he talked too much, but he was nothing compared to her rambling. "A misunderstanding?" he repeated, sounding like he didn't believe her. "My council was witness to the spirits killing my father, so I don't think that that is true." He had been told about everything by his council, and he trusted them. They'd already been there when his father had been king, so they certainly knew more than he did.
Still, before he could say more, a loud knock interrupted them. Annoyance shot over Jaden's face as they entered. "Did I not say that I want to be not disturbed?" he asked, glaring at the guard.
"My apologies, your majesty. But I was told to send you word that two more people will be joining. Friends of hers, as apparently she's here because she's a fan of yours," the guard said, then left with a bow.
Jaden turned back to Rose after that, raising his eyebrows. "So, who's telling the truth, hm?~ Your friends or you?"
Once the guard had started leading the way, Lucius fell into step next to Oscar, still not quite believing that they were doing this. Or rather, that Rose had gone to talk with the king. That one was the cause of all his mild concern. "How are we going to get out of here again?" he whispered to Oscar, making sure that the guard wouldn't hear them. If they could convince the king that Rose was just kidding, maybe, but he felt like she wasn't quite going to play along with that.

"We'll figure out the details later." Oscar waved it off with a grin, though personally, he has no idea how they are going to get out of this alive. "Hello, your majesty!" He gave a slight bow, humble enough to call it actually bowing to Queen Elizabeth. "I'm sorry to interrupt you at what must seem to be a very important discussion, but well, my friend here, she is just... a little what we call a special case." He gave her a grin, HOPING that she'll play along cause otherwise all three of them are in deep waters.
Quinn's eyes scanned around as they moved, finally, it seemed he found a store he was satisfied wirh and made a sharp turn to head towards it; onky glancing back to make sure Jay was still following. Quinn's pace of getting around wasnt always the best to play follow the leader, brisk walking and quick turns out of nowhere werent fun.
For a second, Rose's face turned into an annoyed pout. This happed for a few reasons, on the one hand, she trusted her gut to get something out of this and now that probably wasn't going to happen. Secondly, she just hated lying and was bad at it. But with then coming in for her, they were worried, she had to try to play a long. She attempted to put a smile back on her face, it ended up more sheepish than normal. "U-ummm whoops?" She avoided looking directly at Jaden, fidgeting with the hem of her shirt to try and keep from talking as if she said anything else she might say something that would break the lie. She played along alright, but it didnt meam she would be as good as it with the other two. Her change in demeanor was pretty obvious.
Jay had been about to follow Quinn, giving him a raised eyebrow as an answer when he looked back at him, only to have his arm grabbed the moment Quinn had turned back around. No sound left his mouth as he was suddenly dragged around a corner, though his eyes did widen. He whipped around, trying to rip his arm free of the man holding him. "Sorry to disturb you," the guy said, dragging him further into the alley. "But I couldn't help but notice you looking suspicious."
"Suspicious?" Jay repeated quietly, furrowing his brows. What did this guy want from him?
"Yeah, so how about you give me your money and I'll not sell you off to the guards?" he replied, making Jay's blood run cold. Had he somehow been found...? No, that was impossible. He was probably trying to use the fear of having to defend one's case in front of the guards to rob him. Which was dumb, even more so because he'd given his last money to Quinn.
"No," he simply replied, steeling himself for what would come next.
Jaden looked up when the other two entered, listening to all of them, before his smile suddenly turned sharp and he stood abruptly. "Are you really taking me as so naive?" he said, dramatically, throwing his hand over his heart as he paced back and forth for a moment. "What your friend - Rose, I believe - has said is more than enough to know that she's not from around here," he explained, crossing his arms with childlike glee. "I thiiiink you're lying~" he hummed. "Care to convince me otherwise?"
What Rose had babbled on about, there had been things that had confused him. There had been things that sounded like she really was not from this world, not to mention, she had sounded absolutely sure and sincere. Sure, he didn't often have to decide on things, and usually had others do it for him, but even he could see that she was a bad liar. Which was saying something.

"Your Majesty," a calm smile remains on Oscar's face, the best thing to do now is to act calm and confident, especially when someone was calling you out for lying. "I'm just looking out for my friend, she uhm... well, she hear things." Oscar gave /rose a small reassuring smile. "She is definitely not from here, she came with us from another smaller city... Hamilton." That was the first city in New Zealand that popped into his head, "We were just visiting by, and this popped up, she always had voices in her head so it was no doubt she thought it was 'spirits'." Oscar gave a short bow, "And for that your majesty, I hope we didn't waste your time..." Citrine נιηχχє∂
Quinn had continued on a good way before the silence got to him and he checked behind him on habit. When he coukdnt spot Jay behind him he froze. Of course, the first pessimistic thought that came to mind was thst he was ditched. Which angered him as he was the ditcher, not the ditchee. But upon further thinking, he decided thst was unlikely. So, he began to backtrack a bit to see about spotting him.
Rose stood up quickly, standing in between Jaden and the group. "Okay thats enough!" She didn't like raising her voice that much so she quieted back to a normal, speaking voice after that. "I understand what you're doing to try and help, but I came here willingly. You heard the speech too, he talked about actual murder and I dont believe the king was lying so i had to check it out." Her eyes were glancing between the two groups, worried thst soneone might make a move and start a fight. "Listen, theres no reason this has to go with lying. I hate lying, please. We can talk normally. This can be talked out still, right your majesty?" She was appealing to Jaden's ego by asking for permission, giving him the feeling of control despite not really having anything to do with control. She really didnt see any lies eith the spurits or Jaden, so she was confused, and aiding the wrong side woukd terrify her. "Everyone deserves to be heard. Doubt should be addressed. Besides, if something needed to be done wouldnt it be better to not have enemies along the way when you can make friends?"
Not aware that Quinn was going to look for him, Jay's eyes widened when a knife was suddenly pulled on him while he managed to pull himself free. "Well, gave you a fair chance," the guy said with a laugh, then went in to stab him. Jay wasn't really expecting to be able to dodge it, as everything around him was happening too fast. Still, when he was about to close his eyes, something suddenly seemed to change. The guy was moving insanely slow, and it looked like somebody had put something into slow motion.
Deciding to act fast, Jay moved out of the way. And not a second too soon, because after he had moved out of the path, the time suddenly seemed to snap back to normal, making a headache rush to his head, a feeling of nausea settling in his stomach for a second. He stumbled to the side as the guy stumbled forward, both of them looking confused. "How'd you do that?" the guy said. "What even did you do?!"
Jaden watched for a moment, seemingly liking it when Rose addressed his ego. It was a little odd that Rose was talking about 'making friends', but he brushed it off. "Indeed so. However, I'm not quite sure what clues you have that the spirits are not, in fact, the evil doers here," he spoke, sitting back down and folding his hands. He motioned towards the other three to sit down as well. "Have a seat. I'm sure we'll all have a great time together."
It was pretty obvious to him that they were all involved with this, if they knew about Rose and had been trying to protect her.

( it would be funny as if we managed to convince the king that we're all friends and end of rp xDD )
(who is this other 3 )
Oscar realizes that the king might be too stubborn to listen to what he got to say, which more or less annoyed him, the king simply has a 'role' in front of their name, doesn't mean that they are in any way superior. "Well sir, I don't think what might come of it, but I assure you, you are wasting your time." His smile never falters as he slowly pulled out a chair, and sat. His elbow rests on the armrest and his fingers intertwined, this was one chess game he isn't loosing to. He gave Rose a glance before turning his attention back to the king, sure, she did volunteer to come, but its more or less still a disadvantage to him, he knows nothing about spirits, and what little knowledge the King may know or gain can go a long way.
Besides, it would suck to loose such a pretty face from this world.
